I think you're psyching yourself out if you can say the matches are fire. If you like almost all the matches, I think you can just say you like the match.

Well nah that opinion comes from me thinking the KOTM match was dumb af on paper, especially the penalty box parts before I ever watched any matches, but then I watched a lot of them and I enjoyed the matches and they had a lot of spots on the penalty boxes that were cool despite the gimmick being dumb

Something can be dumb on paper, but once you've got 5-10 fire matches, I don't think you really need to focus on the paper anymore. The match is just fire.

Like I give the wrestlers a lot more credit than normally for making KOTM matches fun (especially Angle and Styles in the ones they were in) bc I think it was despite the gimmick that I enjoyed them which means the wrestlers were crazy good in it

It's the opposite of say Ladder matches where I enjoy most of them regardless so that's the gimmick bringing the match up as long as the wrestlers are just alright in it

But I can agree with you Smark that if the matches were all fire maybe it was bc of the gimmick even if I didn't think it was good beforehand, I'm not one to right anything off all the way like that so I'll leave it open that I could just be psyching myself out on it like you said, I just still think hanging the title up and having penalty boxes are dumb af lol
