You were, but you were trying to undermine why the US has the relationship it does to gun laws. This was so important to our founding it was literally the second amendment in our bill of rights. Only freedom of speech and religion were considered more important.
But I also don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell any form of militia would be able to defeat the US military at this point in time. Not with the advances we've made.
I don't think a militia would last a single day if the US gov't saw them as a serious threat. That is also assuming the US gov't got so out of hand that people would want to revolt. I mean we haven't yet and shit has gotten pretty dire.
Maybe not, but it's important to the US Constitution that if say the world's favorite POTUS decided he didn't want to leave on 2020, we at least have the opportunity. But, then again Vietnam kicked our ass. Anything is possible.
