Talking about Clovis now
Then I was right haha, Clovis came in during the fall of Rome and helped make the Merovingian dynasty what it was

Yeah the main plot point he's going back to as he's going over all this stuff is essentially how "thor became Jesus and vice versa" when Christianity became the dominant religion, essentially drawing the conclusion that most of the modern Christian hypocrisies started right here and I'm agreeing so far

Merovingian history just sounds like Game of Thrones so far, I think GRRM actually straight up took a couple of these things for his non-main series history textbook style ones

When Christianity was being implemented in Roman society, it was already kind of syncretized where Jesus and God were gods alongside Jupiter and co., there's a good 70 years between the Edict of Milan and the Edict of Thessalonica where Jesus Christ was seen as a co-equal of Jupiter lel

Yeah that's he period he kind of skipped (but I think there's a future episode about it), the era where Rome was accepting and because a Christian state

Fall of Rome one basically ended with Caesar dying and a little aftermath and this one basically starts with the sacking by the Visigoths and slightly before

He's mentioned both but pretty sure he focused more on Visigoths
