Well it's also mega biased bc outside of Europe the world was thriving in a lot of places and that's why a lot of historians don't like it too

Yeah IIRC China was undergoing a golden age and India had a large empire going on

South and Central America also had some nice civilizations thriving and growing quickly that we didn't know until more recently due to new findings

Also like eastern Rome was still going well too, not really acknowledged during the dark ages, just mentioned in passing during most stories hyper focused on Europe

Yeah the Eastern Empire was still probably the strongest force in Europe until Islam showed up in the 670s
