Early 2000 had that weird week where the world changed hands or got vacated Sunday PPV, Monday nitro and Thursday thunder in the same week
2000 was wild. 25 title changes.

The booking was not great in WCW in 2000 but the one thing you can’t accuse it of is being boring. Which is why the ratings mostly stayed the same under the russo but the paper views tanked people wanted to watch the TV but when you have that much shit going on why would you want to pay for it.

And when even Vacant, the Wrestler with the most title wins in the history of the biz is like "Really... another one?" then yea... it's problematic

I think that week was when they took Russo out of power for a bit anyway so everyone was rushing to change to their shit

I honestly think I never heard anyone accusing WCW 2000 of being boring :hmm:

May was probably the worst month and thankfully after that it did slow down because they brought in Johnny ace to book finishes, and he kind of was given some Russo’s power in that regard, but there was a period in May when, like Jarrett was defeated by Ric flair for the belt and then the belt was vacated and then it was given to Kevin Nash and then Kevin gave it to Flair who turned around and lost it back to Jarrett all in like a week.

But not boring doesn't equal good entertainment

But to me that is worse, Looch. At least for classic stuff bc at this point it's what draws me to rewatch, and boring will not do that

Boring... yea, I can see that. Going through reliving the war it's more just fascinating to me. It's really interesting to watch how (most) cogs were turning in the downfall

You really can’t because even if you thought it like sucked sucked, you still can watch it for the absolute absurdity. And even I will agree that that. Between like fucking March and like May was even too wild for me but thankfully, I do really like from the great American Bash onwards because the booking does settle down a little bit like I said Johnny Ace taking over the finishes and russo wasn’t allowed to book the matches anymore and there wasn’t interference is an every fucking match. Plus, that’s when you have Booker and Steiner elevated up with Jarrett. I love that final 9 months of WCW.
