Yeah that's the real big negative about monarchies and dictatorship is they usually start bc someone is actually good at it, well in the past at least. Not modern really, easier to keep people subdued with force than it ever has been

I've never really been a military tactics guy, I cared more about the stories of history but really bc of Civ I've been way more into that now too and yeah Napoleon was fucking insane with his resources. I'm not sure he would have been great if he was more limited but for the time he was a monster
