I like globalization for the ??? Still, personally I'd probably split your current era into two as well, just not sure where I'd end the first half. Fall of the Berlin wall maybe, possibly 9/11

it doesn't feel like the right word but what I mean is basically every country became aware and usually interacted in some way with every other major one

yeah I was also thinking about how multiple governments were changed to essentially what they seem to be stuck with (in our biased modern eyes at least), it's like the era where the world as we know it today was shaped

But there were literally dozens of wars of independence that made countries we still have today during that time, even countries like Australia and Canada officially forming without war
