The head managers here will work days straight with minimal sleep at month end. They don't get OT but they do get a higher salary than me, hope it's worth it for them bc I keep saying no when I'm asked about doing it

Some places are way to short staffed also, so saying no could cause them to get fired, or in trouble

Yeah where I'm at now, I'm expected to be available 8-5 but no one micromanages me so some days I just don't do shit if I'm not feeling it. I just know my deadlines and that I have to make them or then I can't exactly say no to working late, I have all month to get this shit done tho

one of my old assistant managers and i did the math for his salary and my hourly wage and with the hours he was working he was actually making less hourly than I was

The only way I'll take salary anywhere is if I'm guaranteed to only work a maximum number of hours (45 max), I get vacation benefits, and I get free health and dental insurance for it.
