I've just never really felt a need to be in one. my buddy that's in one has to pay either monthly or yearly dues and he has never had to contact the union or anything in the 10+ years he's been paying.

From my understanding, there’s other benefits that are really helpful. Like I’m sure most places that have health insurance from work, is because of Unions. But I could be wrong on that also.

All I know is my dads union turned their back on mymoms and she had to go on welfare until I could pay for her remaining days.

mostly done now tho, the main thing they do now is try and get higher wages. The industries that don't have prominent unions usually already offer similar benefits as an incentive to prevent unions, wages just stagnate there

The auto workers strike last year I believe was mostly higher wages but also a cap on hours worked in a week I think
