My grandpa said it had you really interested the whole way through. I asked him recently because I didn't give a shit when I was 7.

I don't know, I watched it when it came out and I fell asleep. I rewatched it a couple of years ago and I fell asleep. I tried watching it again this year but I found the DVD was being used as a coaster. It's much better that way.

13. Ghost

As I've said before, I have no issue with romantic films or "chick flicks" provided they have at least some level of substance to them. Ghost, which is widely regarded as one of the most popular of these types of films, does not. In fact, its almost got negative-substance, if that's even possible. The real problem here is with the forced romance that goes on. I mean, is it really that difficult to make the love between two people seem real and genuine on film? Apparently it is, or at least it is here, because I didn't buy Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore as lovers for a second. Oh, speaking of them, their "acting" here is atrocious, though Whoopi Goldberg gives them a run for their money as you will see here...

Amazingly enough, Goldberg won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for this performance, showing once again how completely inane the Academy actually is. Oh, they also managed to nominate this trash for Best Picture, but it didn't win, which I actually find remarkable given their track record. This film also popularized the old Everly Brothers classic, "Unchained Melody", which is a great song. Unfortunately, whenever I hear it these days, the first thing I think of is this turd, and that leads me to not enjoy it as much as I used to. That sucks, but what sucks even more is Ghost, so do yourselves a favour and stay the fuck away. There's a fine line between emotion and sentiment; Ghost does a pole vault over it and becomes utterly sickening by the end.

Tomorrow, I'll have you at hello.

I don't like Dirty Dancing that much, but I agree that its better than Ghost by a country mile. Besides, its got Lennie Briscoe in it, so its automatically full of win. I always liked the Swayze film Next of Kin for the more action-oriented stuff, though Road House also rules.

haha Lennie Brisco is the sole reason I give DD the nod

Next of Kin is good but Road House is classic....plus there are some great boobies in it...

Point Break stinks though

Ghost pissed me off in so many ways.

It was the first movie that involved ghosts that I saw where I thought to myself that movie makers really don't pay attention to the physics of the ghost world. How is it that the Swayze's feet can walk on stuff as ghost, but can't kick stuff? He can walk through walls, but doesn't fall through floors.
