I forgot which Texas town it was, but their mascot used to be the "Coons". It was actually surprising how long it stood as their mascot until some local residents in the 90's finally got the city to change it.

For those who don't understand, "coons" was slang for "racoons", but of course it's also a very racist term for black people (which I'm sure most people are already aware lol)

Also I've been told it's internet slang like a troll but I'm not quite sure how that works.

Would have a good double meaning, South Australia is well known for it's excellent wine region but there is also a place in South Australia called Snowtown that is famous because of the bodies in barrels serial killer case.

Fuck the Tigers and Lions and whatever a "red wing" is... nobody in Detroit is getting mauled to death by Tigers and Lions. Not as far as I know anyways. But one thing Detroit is certainly known for is innocent bystanders.

The Red Wings name/logo came about because the guy who purchased them was involved in cycling and the Red Wings logo the club's logo, if I remember correctly. The Red Wings were the Cougars and then the Falcons before becoming the Red Wings. The cycling group was called the 'Winged Wheelers' and he (I think his last name was Norris) thought it would be a good logo to use in the Motor City, obviously with more of a car tire instead of a bike wheel.


Anyway, always hated the Mighty Ducks. At least they dropped the Mighty part, but, what an awful logo. Not that it strays far, but, I dunno, fucking Disney ducks as a hockey team is stupid.
