Imagine if RKO had turned heel, cashed in (sometime after SummerSlam), and lost. How long would it be palatable for the Authority to be trying to force him into a losing situation and how long until HHH booted Orton out of his position and replaced him with somebody else? Would it have been an interesting feud in that situation?

I don't have answers to those questions, so this doesn't fit my usual Socratic questioning method. I'm asking just to ask.

wk

To be honest, not really IMO. It's why I felt Orton pretty much had to win the vacant championship by the end of this Bryan feud because otherwise, his heel turn would have been almost pointless. Why turn heel in a big way only to lose right off the bat? If Orton had failed a cash in at all, then I would have preferred he stayed face while doing it (which means no Authority storyline.)

I prefer Bryan chasing the title too, but in an alternate universe kind of way, I wonder what it would have been like if Bryan just got a long reign with the title starting at Summerslam. Just imagine he kept the championship even after that humongous reaction at the PPV after he won it. He and Orton could have easily still had a great face/face feud over the championship, especially given their recent history and problems with each other on Raw.

He will get that long title reign though. He was a simple tag team champion only a month or two before SummerSlam. They strapped a ROCKET on his ass and he tapped Randy Orton out clean only a few weeks before pinning John Cena clean. He's their number one guy, but the fans will need to wait for that big pay-off.

When is the last time DB lost clean, don't worry.... I'll wait.

Meanwhile he's beat Orton, and CENA clean. Pretty sure he's a force to be reckoned with

Looking at ProFightDB.

I'm not sure if it counts, but that weird Raw where the referee stopped the match because of a Bryan injury.
If not, then Payback, when Orton left Bryan to get beaten up by the Shield... wait, that doesn't either.
Last singles match Bryan lost clean was back on the May 3rd Smackdown vs Ryback.

I dunno, that was in like May. Gonna be tough to overcome that.

EDIT: You're right though, that's the last time I recall him losing clean.
The same can be said for ADR's lengthy title run after re-gaining it back from DZ.

Lol that was probably the last time Ryback beat a real WWE star clean, as well.

I would count Orton whooping his ass and HHH stopping the match. Ryback lol. Funny how quickly things change in wrestling.

Man I've been a supporter of Ryback, but I can't deny that his stock is waning. All that said, I'll still enjoy hitting Double Shellshocks on dudes in WWE2k14 when I pick it up today.

Yeah buddy. 2K14 FTW

I will WRECK dudes with Cena too. OMG double AA's for everyone.

I want to have matches with Cena doing 6 man tags with whomever against The Shield. Cena goes nuts and just hits AA's akimbo on everyone, but in the end of course The Shield must win.

PS3. Yeah I saw the fed, I don't know if I have the time/interest for that sort of thing. I can't promise I'll be on at a certain time to have a certain match. Also if I signed up, I'm worried I'd get bored and immediately go AWOL. I'll definitely play you guys in random pick-up matches online, but the league might not be for me.

From what I read it wasn't the "planned finish", just an actual injury. But I see where you're coming from then.

Yeah, no kidding! Just a few months ago it was an enhancement match for Ryback, but now it's an easy win for Bryan. Amazing how things have so little long-term consequence.

EDIT: Looks planned to me, why is the medical dude standing right by Bryan moments before the "injury"

You can bet that anything on TV outside of a heinous accident, like Wade Barrett's arm getting crushed that one time by Dolph Ziggler or Owen's tragic death is part of the script.

CM Punk's infamous pipebomb promo for example. Scripted. You don't wish death upon your boss on the air and get a huge push out of it if it's a shoot. The mic being cut off at the end was a nice touch. It's certainly one of the best "worked shoots" or whatever, but it's all worked. Anything on TV is a work. This show is highly produced, scripted, and every single segment is controlled from Gorilla position. It's simply that they have become more talented at giving you that unpredictable feeling. They're the puppet masters pulling our strings, and it's pretty rad.

Triple H should use Master of Puppets as his theme song for a WrestleMania.

Eh, it was definitely scripted IMO. If it was a legit injury that's not how they would finish it. It went right along with the DB weak link storyline.

Not only was cm punks pipebomb promo scripted, he used it in ROH. I wouldn't say it's infamous.
