My husband is 6 years older then me. If I started dating him at 15 he would have been 21. I would have been pretty damn pissed if he got arrested. I remember a 16 year old girl in my high school dating a 27 year old. He never got arrested. It makes you wonder why so many get away with it then others don't.

There's 11 years between my parents, sorta creepy when you think he was 21 and she was 10. But they didn't meet till like late 20s/lates 30s so it's all good.

Yep. Age is just a number.

Obviously you can't just abolish the law because then there would be even more paedo's praying on young kids who haven't developed enough mentally and maturity wise to make their own decisions, but if someone of say 15 was with an 18 year old and they were both mature enough, what is the issue?

It depends. Most kids aren't fully developed at 12/13 which makes it wrong, but at the same time it's now "the norm" isn't it? There's nothing anyone can really do about it so I guess educating them is better than trying to stop them. It tends to be less well off kids doing it at such a young age as well, from what I've seen here at least.

Did you even read my post? Nobody mentioned equal rights and nobody is asking for special favors. I was simply making a point that different kinds of people act under different kinds of pressures and in consideration of those pressures perhaps we might have a little extra sympathy for them. Anyway, orientation isn't the issue here. I only thought it would be fascinating to note.
