Ever since CM Punk's heel turn a couple of months ago, it seems that there are a few fans on the net that have presumably turned their back on Punk. Now, it may be because he's now a full-fledged heel and they're just going with it (like with Daniel Bryan and the majority of us still saying YES! in his expense because it's fun) but I've been seeing a lot of guys stating that "CM Punk is just another typical heel. I hate it." and all that crap. Sounds very fickle to me. What's a "typical" heel in the first place? I don't get why there are so many people on the internet that expect only Punk to be a completely different kind of heel than everyone else.

I guarantee the majority of those people that say he's just a "typical heel" are the same people that are fans of those "typical heels". I'm just venting here but I'm wondering if anybody else is noticing this as well. Is it right to expect so much from CM Punk as a heel like most people are?

That doesn't make much sense. I agree that the term "typical heel" is very suspect. If by "typical heel", the person means a bad guy, then actually I would argue that he is not a typical heel. He's just arguing with wrestlers and announcers perceived to be good guys. When it comes to Punk (and honestly nowadays all heels in general) I tend to agree with what they say. Storyline wise, Punk should be getting more respect than he is. He is the WWE champion, a title that SHOULD have a prestigious entitlement with it. Therefore, by holding it, he is the best in the world at that time. I agreed with Cena's point that Cena has to believe in himself that he is the best in the world to succeed. However, Lawler, Hart, and J.R. should at least concede that he most likely is. By doing so, it adds credibility to the title. Instead, all they are doing is saying, you can only be the best if you beat Cena. By using Flair's logic of "to be the man, WHOOOO, you gotta beat the man," being Cena is bigger than being champion nowadays.

Sorry, went off topic lol. Been holding that in for a while. Tbh, I don't know what these people expect to happen now that Punk is a heel. He is doing the best job he can with what he is given. He is easily the top heel in the company and is doing a damn good job with it.

I'm guessing it's people that expected some sort of major change that he promised last summer and are now realizing they're not going to get it, probably the same people that hate the PG rating. Either that or it's just how wrestling fans work, Punk's been on top for awhile so they're bound to turn on him because apparently we need something new every week and nobody is allowed to stay on top. Punk's as good as ever right now, his heel turn helped make his reign feel fresh again. Sure, we're not in the time of him taking the WWE title and leaving forever anymore but I still I don't understand the hate.

Me personally, I haven't seen any problem with his heel turn. I think he's been great since the turn, and I really like the whole respect thing because I feel like it fits Punk. He's been just as good as a heel as when he was a face, Punk is awesome no matter what as far as I'm concerned.

I dig the addition of Paul Heyman too, and I think the two work very well together.
