ECW Hardcore TV Preview
November 17th, 2001

Nashville, Tennessee

Last week we finally saw November To Remember, and the biggest news coming out of the pay per view is that Steve Corino retained the ECW Championship by defeating the seemingly unstoppable Rhino. Not only did Corino beat Rhino, but he broke Rhino’s neck with a Piledriver off of the ring apron and there’s a chance Rhino may never wrestle again. Whilst ‘The King Of Old School’ hasn’t been booked in action tonight, one can assume that we will hear from the champ at some stage so he can gloat over proving everybody wrong.

November To Remember drew mixed results for The Network though. Cyrus will be relieved that they retained the ECW Championship, however CW Anderson lost the ECW Television Championship to Yoshihiro Tajiri at the show. It has been made clear for a while now that the goal of The Network is simple, and that’s to have all the titles under their control. They have been scheming for weeks now to add the final piece of the puzzle, which was the tag team titles. Now that the TV title is no longer under their control, one can only assume that Cyrus and The Network will be taking their scheming to a whole new level.

There are currently two matches announced for the show. The first one is similar to a match that took place at November To Remember, as four teams will do battle in a sudden death match. Three of the teams involved were involved in the pay per view’s tag team match and they are Christian York and Joey Matthews, Danny Doring and Roadkill and Team Me. The fourth team getting a shot are the dastardly Italians, Guido Maritato and Tony Mamaluke. It seems after falling short in singles competition, Guido is back to looking for tag team success. Considering Eye Balls just won the titles in this exact type of match at November To Remember, one must assume a win tonight could do wonders in determining the next team to earn a title shot.

The other match will be a battle between old wrestling school buddies who trained together at the Shawn Michaels Wrestling Academy. Not only will this be a battle between two familiar friends, but it will be the debut of one of them in ECW. Coming off of a successful display in a Submission match at November To Remember, Bryan Danielson will look to continue that momentum when he goes one on one with the debuting Michael Shane. There are huge expectations on young Shane considering he’s the cousin of the man whose school these guys trained at, in Shawn Michaels himself. Will the younger debut in style or will Danielson continue to work his way up the ranks here in ECW?

We’re also expected to get a status update from Commissioner Shane Douglas regarding New Jack, after New Jack appeared at November To Remember and attacked Homicide. Meanwhile, we will hear from Eddie Guerrero who will make his intentions clear regarding his return to ECW, after successfully defeating Low Ki at November To Remember.

Please tune in for all of this and much, much more…

Confirmed Matches:

Christian York and Joey Matthews vs. Danny Doring and Roadkill vs. Guido Maritato and Tony Mamaluke vs. Team Me

Bryan Danielson vs. Michael Shane

Trying not to ramble but this feels like a cool moment for me. This BTB will always be my absolute favourite. Some of you know, I've reached November To Remember 2002 and this is all a repost, BUT we've reached a period now where I got lazy and decided to do 'Road To' posts for a few PPV's. I'm not reposting those. So here's the first NEW SHOW if this BTB on WS.

ECW Hardcore TV
November 17th, 2001
Nashville, Tennessee

The first show after November To Remember opens up with one, sole figure standing in the middle of the ring, and it’s none other than JOEY STYLES. With a big smile on his face, ‘The Voice Of ECW’ has a microphone in his hand, but he can’t speak due to the velocity of “ECDUB”, “ECDUB”, “ECDUB” chants reverberating around the arena.

Joey keeps his mic to his side and kills time by fixing his time, whilst the camera begins panning around the arena, showing more and more of the extreme fans. Eventually, the camera goes back to Joey and the audience dies down enough so that Styles can speak.

Joey Styles: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to another episode of ECW Hardcore TV! I’m Joey Styles and it’s my pleasure to bring you all of the action after the event of a lifetime last weekend, November To Remember! I’ve been given strict orders at this time to introduce a group who had mixed results at last weekend’s pay per view, so ladies and gentlemen, please welcome… THE NETWORK!!!

There’s a few seconds of heat, before “Old School Style” by Boner plays through the arena speakers. Suddenly, the heat volume goes up TIMES ONE MILLION, as their most hated members of the roster, THE NETWORK step through the curtain. CYRUS leads the way, walking arm in arm with the sultry DAWN MARIE, and neither of them look overly pleased. Behind them, with a big smile on his face despite a head full of bandages, is the only man who was successful for The Network last night, STEVE CORINO. The camera now pans just behind Corino where CW ANDERSON is wearing a neck brace, whilst JUSTIN CREDIBLE isn’t wearing a top with his jean shorts, instead showing taped up ribs. Just as we think everybody is out, the curtain rustles again and JACK VICTORY comes out on crutches. Joey Styles sees this and rolls his eyes, as Victory continues to ham it up on the crutches, despite having absolutely no reason to be injured.

Looking like a sad, injured conglomerate gets The Network some ironic cheers from the fans, as they’re happy to see them struggling. Once they are inside of the ring, Cyrus angrily snatches the microphone from Joey, and points for him to leave the ring. Being severely outnumbered and wanting to keep his job, Styles shakes his head but leaves, whilst the fans go back to giving The Network plenty of heat. Cyrus looks ready to finally speak as their music dies down, but instead a “FUCK THE NETWORK”, “FUCK THE NETWORK”, “FUCK THE NETWORK” chant starts up. After a few moments it dies down, and Cyrus can finally begin to speak.

Cyrus: Last weekend, November To Remember, six days ago…

Well, it looks like we were wrong. Cyrus is forced to stop talking as the fans continue to drill The Network with next level heat. This clearly pisses off everybody in the ring, but none more so than Cyrus.

Cyrus: It’s the biggest show of the year, and quite frankly, The Network went to hell and back…

Another major pop for the misfortune of The Network, which causes ‘The Virus’ to redden in the face. Clearly frustrated, Cyrus now changes tactics and points at Steve Corino.

Cyrus: AND STEVE CORINO DEFEATED THE ANIMAL KNOWN AS RHINO!!!

Corino initially looks shocked at being singled out but seems to enjoy it somewhat. The fans boo the hell out of the call, as Cyrus is clearly trying to get back at the fans at this point.

Cyrus: HE BROKE RHINO’S NECK AND IS STILL THE ECW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!!!

This time Corino takes the title from around his waist and raises it above his head, not minding being showered in boos. Meanwhile, the rest of The Network politely applaud their champion. After enjoying the moment for a few seconds, the leader of The Network now pans his eyes across the rest of the ring.

Cyrus: That’s the good news, but unfortunately there’s bad news for The Network as well. You see, our champion retaining the title… That was THE ONLY THING THAT WENT RIGHT THE ENTIRE NIGHT!!!

As you can imagine, whilst Cyrus and The Network get all sour faced again, the fans mark out.

Cyrus: We have worked side by side for the better part of two years to clean up this tragic company, and the same thing should have happened at November To Remember. We should have been at each other’s side.

A neutral kind of statement there, so there’s not much of a fan reaction as Cyrus mulls over his next words.

Cyrus: But I must admit, I’ve been thrown off by the appointment of our new Commissioner, and he’s a big part of why our plans were foiled at the pay per view. We’re always more effective as a collective, but Shane Douglas split us apart by scheduling our matches one after the other.

A cheer goes up for the handiwork of Douglas, which clearly infuriates The Network even further.

Cyrus: Shane Douglas showed a disgusting level of favouritism in making sure we didn’t have the night we wanted. CW Anderson shouldn’t even have had to defend the title against Tajiri to begin with. CW Anderson was robbed of the Television Title.

More boos from the fans, as CW nods his head, but then grabs at his injured neck. Before Cyrus can continue, the fans kick start a brief “TAJIRI”, “TAJIRI”, “TAJIRI” chant, which clearly pisses off everybody.

Cyrus: Congratulations is in order to Shane Douglas and ECW, because now The Network is further away from our goals than we were before November To Remember. We need to hold all of the gold, but now we’ve lost the TV Title, and we still don’t even have the Tag Team Titles.

Another big pop because it does seem that since Douglas came in, the momentum in this war has changed considerably.

Cyrus: But things are about to change… I’m happy to admit that Shane Douglas coming in and having equal power to me, it threw me off, but not anymore. Tonight, I’m back… Tonight, The Network is back, and we’re here to make it clear that the fight is NOT over.

Cyrus is rallying the troops and despite how battered they are, The Network seems pumped up. The fans counter act this by kick starting another “ECDUB”, “ECDUB”, “ECDUB” chant.

Cyrus: And we’re not wasting anytime getting back to where we should be. That’s why it’s my pleasure to announce that TONIGHT… JUSTIN CREDIBLE IS GOING TO DEFEAT YOSHIHIRO TAJIRI AND WIN BACK THE ECW TELEVISION TITLE!!!

Whoa! Definitely a HUGE announcement there, which gets a good reaction from the fans. Despite his taped ribs, Credible smirks and nods, whilst the rest of The Network seem pretty happy with the decision as well.

Cyrus: BECAUSE IT’S TIME YOU ALL REMEMBER, NOBODY CROSSES THE NETWORK AND GETS AWAY WITH IT!!!

Not to drawn out tonight, as Cyrus is clearly in a mood. He throws the microphone to the mat and begins to leave the ring, allowing the fans to heckle him the whole time. The rest of The Network follow along, leaving the ring, with Corino and Anderson doing their best to pump up Credible ahead of his title match tonight.

Finally, Dawn Marie holds the ropes for the hilariously hobbling Jack Victory, and they make their way to the backstage area as well…

Instead of the opening video playing like usual for an episode of Hardcore TV, it’s subbed for a different video package tonight…

***

‘November Rain’ by Prince is the soundtrack for the video package, which is a substantial recap of the November To Remember pay per view. It begins with Da Baldies vs. Hot Commodity vs. The Harris Twins, until The Sandman interrupts and lays out everybody with Singapore Cane shots.

Masato Tanka defeated The Sandman in a typical ECW match.

Bryan Danielson made Guido Maritato submit in a Submission only match.

Eddie Guerrero defeated Low Ki in an impressive ECW return for ‘Latino Heat’.

Christopher Daniels defeated Super Crazy in two straight falls in a Two Out Of Three Falls match.

Eye Balls won the ECW Tag Team Championships, defeating Christian York and Joey Matthews, Danny Doring and Roadkill, and Johnny Swinger and Simon Diamond in a Falls Count Anywhere match.

Kid Kash defeated Justin Credible in one of the biggest wins of his career.

Yoshihiro Tajiri defeated CW Anderson to pry the ECW Television Championship away from The Network.

Homicide defeated Tommy Dreamer in a Street Fight. After the match, New Jack returned to brawl with Homicide, sending Homicide and himself crashing through a table after a dive off a balcony.

Steve Corino defeated Rhino to retain the ECW Championship.

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Returning from the break, we head to the back, where JOEY STYLES gives us a brief recap of what we saw before the commercial break.

Joey Styles: And in a surprise for all the viewers out there in TV land, I’ve the pleasure of being joined by a special guest tonight… The ECW Commissioner… SHANE DOUGLAS!!!

Accompanied by his custom cackle, SHANE DOUGLAS does indeed appear standing next to Joey.

Joey Styles: Before we get on with the rest of the show, I have to ask what do you think of Cyrus’ announcement. Yoshihiro Tajiri defending the ECW Television Championship against Justin Credible tonight!

Styles look on eagerly as Douglas smirks.

Shane Douglas: I don’t have any objections, Joey. I heard everything Cyrus had to say, and that’s all okay by me. I’ve approved the match because I like it.

Joey is pumped because Tajiri/Credible for the TV Title has been confirmed for tonight’s show.

Shane Douglas: As a matter of fact, it sets the scene perfectly for what I was planning to do anyway. You see, this month is going to be known as the month of champions. Every title is going to be defended in the next month. And outside of the TV Title situation, I’ve got another announcement to make right now. By virtue of his impressive victory at November To Remember… Within the month of champions, in three weeks’ time, our ECW World Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino is going to defend the title against Kid Kash!!!

Everybody seems happy with that as ‘The Voice of ECW’ now takes over, and sends us to ringside for our opening match…

Match One
Bryan Danielson vs. Michael Shane

Despite it being a mystery to the viewer, it seems as if these two may know each other. They circle each other cagily, smirks on their faces, before Danielson steps forward, offering a handshake to his opponent. With a scoff, Shane backs away and shakes his head, apparently not interested in fighting with honour.

This removed the smirk from Danielson’s face as the action begins, and they lock up. As they go back and forth in the early stages, on commentary, Styles and Douglas fill us in on their history together. Both men were trained at the same professional wrestling school, and they were both trained by Shawn Michaels himself. As the action continues, despite Shane clearly having talent, Danielson is a step ahead in most exchanges.

Eventually Shane creates some space between the two, wanting to land a killer blow… SUPERKICK!!! NO!!!

DANIELSON AVOIDS THE KICK AND NAILS A DRAGON SUPLEX!!!

DANIELSON MAINTAINS THE BRIDGE…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Bryan Danielson via pinfall @ 4:12

After the match, Danielson gets a nice ovation, continuing his momentum with yet another victory. He’s all smiles now, whilst an irritated Shane is forced to lick his wounds on the outside…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Upon returning from the break, we get another video package…

***

Homicide defeated Tommy Dreamer in a Street Fight. After the match, New Jack returned to brawl with Homicide, sending Homicide and himself crashing through a table after a dive off a balcony.

NEW JACK IS BACK!!!

***

We then return to the commentary booth, where JOEY STYLES and SHANE DOUGLAS stand by. Joey looks at the Commissioner, who looks like he has something to say.

Shane Douglas: New Jack was chomping at the bit to come back and fight somebody, convincing him to do that was the easy part. I haven’t talked to New Jack since and I’m basically just going to let him do his thing. Here’s what I can confirm, any time he wants the actual match against Homicide, I can make that happen. I’ll be ready with a contract.

Joey is pumped as are the fans, but ‘The Franchise’ raises a hand as if to confirm that he’s not finished.

Shane Douglas: Sorry, Joey, I wanted to take this time to address our tag team division as well. Eye Balls were incredible at November To Remember and we have new champions. They can enjoy their victory for now, but in two weeks, they will participate in the month of champions. Eye Balls are going to defend those titles for the first time against the winners of the next match.

More exciting news from Douglas, as Styles now sends us back to ringside for the match…

Match Two
Winners get a shot at the ECW Tag Team Championships

Christian York and Joey Matthews vs. Danny Doring and Roadkill vs. Guido Maritato and Tony Mamaluke vs. Team Me

All these teams are eager to impress and get right back in the race when it comes to the tag titles. This means this ones just a balls to the wall spot fest. There are no tags, no strategy, it’s just out and out mayhem between all eight men.

Everyone tries really hard and it’s an entertaining five minutes, which everybody cramming plenty into the match. In the end, Doring and Roadkill manage to isolate Matthews inside of the ring, whilst everybody else is occupied with brawling on the outside. DORING AND ROADKILL MANAGE TO HIT THE BUGGY BANG ON MATTHEWS!!!

Roady stands guard AS DORING HOOKS THE LEG…1…2…3!!!

Winners: Danny Doring and Roadkill via pinfall @ 5:48

The fans pop loudly for the result, knowing we now have a babyface match of Eye Balls vs. Doring and Roadkill to look forward to. For now though, Doring and Roadkill continue to celebrate to the fans, content with their performance tonight and they opportunity they have earned…

And we’re back to the commentary duo of JOEY STYLES and SHANE DOUGLAS.

Shane Douglas: You know what, Joey? I’ll let you announce this one…

With a knowing grin, Douglas hands Joey a small piece of paper. Styles unfolds the paper, and his eyes go wide in excitement.

Joey Styles: Oh my god. I don’t believe it! Ladies and gentlemen, ECW Commissioner Shane Douglas has just confirmed that next week we will see a first. For the first time ever, Low Ki will go one on one with Super Crazy!!! I can’t wait.

Douglas chuckles whilst Styles gives him an approving look, before sending us away…

We now get some pre-taped comments from everybody’s favourite returnee, EDDIE GUERRERO. ‘Latino Heat’’ is standing in his wrestling gear, sweat dripping down his chest, as clearly this was recorded after his match at November To Remember.

Eddie Guerrero: I have to be completely honest with everybody, I’ve come back to a different ECW to when I left.

Eddie wipes some sweat off his chest with his towel.

Eddie Guerrero: It’s safe to say that there’s good young talent here, vato’s. That Low Ki gave me a tougher fight than I expected.

Guerrero gives a little silent golf clap, paying respect to Low Ki.

Eddie Guerrero: Considering some of things I’ve been going through, I haven’t been keeping up with some of the younger talent in the business recently. I admit I had never seen Low Ki wrestle; I’d only heard positive things about how he was briefly the TV Champion. I’ve also heard some good talk about those promising esse’s Christopher Daniels and Bryan Danielson and the tremendous debut years they’ve all been having.

My favourite of all time continues to nod along with his rather generic promo.

Eddie Guerrero: I’m here to build myself back up to the top no matter how long it takes. I want to face all of them if I can.

Eddie’s all serious when he says that, ready for competition.

Eddie Guerrero: And I will fight the youngsters and teach them a thing or two, but that’s not the only reason why I’m here, holmes. You see, I wouldn’t mind getting my hands back on the TV Title or even getting a shot at the ECW Title!!! That’s why I’m here!!!

The ‘superstar’ then signals for championship gold to come around his Latin waist, before we cut to the final commercial break of the evening…

-COMMERCIAL BREAK-

Match Three

ECW Television Championship Match
Yoshihiro Tajiri (c) defends against Justin Credible

Going back as far as November To Remember 2000, Tajiri tends to have Credible’s number in big match title situations. The same looked obvious early again in this one as Tajiri was able to keep Credible off balance with his vicious kicks.

It actually seems as if Tajiri could look to finish Credible off, but instead he opts to inflict more punishment to The Network member. The beatdown continues until the fans begin to boo and Tajiri stops focusing on Credible, as CW ANDERSON RUNS DOWN TO RINGSIDE AND JUMPS ONTO THE APRON!!!

The former TV Champion is furious, yelling and abusing ‘The Japanese Buzzsaw’. Tajiri stomps over, ignoring CW’s racist remarks… ROUNDHOUSE KICKS TO ANDERSON!!!

NO!!! ANDERSON LEAPS OFF THE APRON TO AVOID CONTACT…

AND THEN CREDIBLE RUNS THROUGH TAJIRI WITH A CLOTHESLINE!!!

This allows Credible to finally take over. The former ECW Champion goes to work from the fan who took the title from him at the first place, looking for revenge. Unfortunately for Credible, he’s unable to put Tajiri away, and after nailing a BASEMENT DROPKICK during a mad scramble, Tajiri begins to fight back.

Sensing the momentum getting away from Credible, CW LEAPS ON THE APRON AGAIN, DISTRACTING THE REFEREE…

BECAUSE ECW CHAMPION STEVE CORINO HAS JUMPED ONTO THE APON ON THE OPPSITE SIDE OF THE RING!!!

Tajiri has no idea, focusing in on Anderson as he goes close to the ropes, walking around the prone body of Credible… CORINO DECKS TAJIRI WITH A HARD FOREARM TO THE BACK OF THE NECK!!!

As Tajiri goes down, The Network members get off the apron, and conveniently, Credible recovers rather quickly. Credible grabs Tajiri and sends him bouncing off the ropes… TILT A WHIRL…

INTO THE THAT’S INCREDIBLE!!!

NO!!! TAJIRI REVERSES WITH AN INSIDE CRADLE…1…2…3!!!

Winner: Yoshiro Tajiri via pinfall @ 13:06

An ENORMOUS pop goes up from the fans, and Tajiri has his hand raised by the referee. The Japanese extremist immediately gets his TV Title, and raises it in his hand, WHEN HE GETS ATTACKED FROM BEHIND BY CW ANDERSON!!!

Steve Corino is quick to join in, and much to the dismay of the fans, the two of them stomp the living hell out of Tajiri.

As the beating continues, Corino takes a moment to step away and he helps the furious Credible back to his feet.

The three talk a bit of strategy until Credible and CW bring Tajiri to his feet, holding him in place… SO CORINO CAN DROP TAJIRI WITH THE OLD SCHOOL KICK!!!

Tajiri is damn near unconscious now, not moving on the mat, and the three men laugh in the ring. Unfathomably, the heat gets even LOUDER as the leader of The Network, CYRUS walks down the ramp and joins his crew in the ring.

A gloating Cyrus grabs a microphone from a member of the ringside crew, before standing over Tajiri with his buddies.

Cyrus: You need to know your place! You’re going to end up like Rhino.

Major boos directed at Cyrus, who continues to stand over the Jap.

Cyrus: And what means is that you’ll be gone too!!!

As The Network continue to stand over Tajiri, the TV Champ instinctively rolls underneath the bottom rope and to the outside.

Anderson looks to go and grab Tajiri but Cyrus stops him, realizing Tajiri is no longer a threat for tonight.

The quartet continue to bask in the heat from the crowd, when the mood in the arena changes…

BECAUSE EYE BALLS… BALLS MAHONEY AND PIERRE CARL OULETTE RUN DOWN THE RAMP!!!

Cyrus’ eyes bug out and he immediately yells “GO GET THEM”, so Anderson and Credible leave the ring, meeting the tag champs on the ramp.

ALL FOUR MEN START TRADING PUNCHES ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP, NEITHER TEAM BACKING DOWN!!!

Corino and Cyrus simply watch on with interest, whilst the fans break out into an “ECDUB”, “ECDUB”, “ECDUB” chant.

The brawl continues between the four men, when a ton of SECURITY sprint down the entrance ramp, and they begin breaking the fight up.

More boos from the fans, whilst Cyrus applauds the security ‘rightfully’ doing their jobs. Eventually, the four men are separated, and they all get dragged to the back.

With Tajiri still down on the outside, this leaves the smug Cyrus and ECW Champion Corino remaining in the ring.

Cyrus: Wow! No relation to Justin, but that was incredible.

The audience doesn’t react too much as the two men in the ring giggle at Cyrus’ ‘cleverness’.

Cyrus: Despite the TV Champ AND the tag champs coming after us, they didn’t even touch our ECW Champion.

Corino smirks, requesting the microphone from Cyrus. The champ straightens the title on his shoulder, having picked it up after the beat down on Tajiri.

Steve Corino: I’ll tell you why that is, it’s because nobody can touch me!

Major heat from the fans again as Corino begins to obnoxiously brag.

Steve Corino: I beat the untouchable and that makes me the untouchable. I beat Rhino for the first time in a year and a half.

The champ holds up one finger, whilst Cyrus applauds him. The fans don’t though, they’re not happy.

Steve Corino: Not only did I beat him, but I stole his title, and I broke his neck.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO as The Network members inside the ring continue to look impressed with themselves.

Steve Corino: I AM THE BIG FUCKING DEAL… BY TRANSITIVE PROPERTY, I’M ALSO THE WHOLE FUCKING SHOW… BY TRANSITIVE PROPERTY, I’M ALSO THE HUMAN SUPLEX MACHINE… BY TRANSITIVE PROPERTY, I’M ALSO THE FRANCHISE!!!

The outburst from Corino gets plenty more heat from the fans, but the champ clearly believes what he’s saying. He now extends the microphone back towards Cyrus but immediately withdraws it when “Perfect Strangers” by Deep Purple brings out the real Franchise, SHANE DOUGLAS. The fans mark out for the appearance of the Commissioner, whilst on commentary, Joey Styles talks about how Douglas left the commentary position a few minutes ago, not enjoying The Network’s attack.

Inside of the ring, Corino and Cyrus look annoyed at Douglas’ interruption, but the man in the black and yellow suit smirks at them, before getting inside of the ring. Douglas pulls a microphone out of his pocket and his music cuts off before he can get to the catchphrase, so he just starts speaking anyway.

Shane Douglas: Look kid, I let you run your mouth because you’re the champ, but you better watch yourself.

It’s clear that Douglas didn’t like Corino calling himself the franchise, but Corino rolls his eyes, not looking bothered.

Steve Corino: Oh yeah? What are you going to do? Are you going to “shoot” on me?

Boos from the crowd as Cyrus laughs, patting back Corino on the back for the ‘good one’.

Steve Corino: In all seriousness, I know why you’re out here. I appreciate that you want the old ECW back.

Douglas nods his head, not disagreeing with that statement.

Steve Corino: But it isn’t happening because this is the new era of ECW, this is The Network’s era. And make no mistake about it, I’m the greatest ECW Champion of all time.

More applause from Cyrus, whilst the fans boo and Douglas looks annoyed.

Steve Corino: Let me spell it out for you, old timer. What I’m saying is that even if I was around back in your day, I’d still be the ECW Champion and The Network would be the only stable that ever mattered.

The ECW Champ has a shit eating grin now, clearly just trying to take shots at the Commissioner. Douglas keeps himself together though and hits back.

Shane Douglas: That’s actually pretty funny. The three of you, (pointing at Cyrus) not including that jack off who doesn’t wrestle, will never be more than a second rate version of the Triple Threat.

Reliving his glory days, Douglas throws up the ‘Triple Threat’ sign which gets a CRAZY reaction from the fans. The Network clearly disagree though, as Cyrus now takes the microphone from Corino.

Cyrus: You know Shane, I must admit, this you trying to compete with us business, it’s been nice…

Whilst saying that, Cyrus’ face shows that he’s being extremely sarcastic.

Cyrus: And whilst it took me a few weeks to adjust, I have. Your little attempt to derail my vision has failed.

Boos because the fans don’t agree, whilst ‘The Franchise’ rolls his eyes.

Cyrus: We’ve already got the ECW Championship. Tajiri is about to lose the TV Title, Balls and his pirate friend won’t be able to handle what’s coming to them…

More heat for the cocky Cyrus, as Corino laughs at his pirate comment.

Cyrus: We’re so close to being in complete control and you need to face the facts. The old ECW is DEAD.

“ECDUB”, “ECDUB”, “ECDUB” chant from the fans who aren’t happy with that statement. The Commissioner doesn’t seem impressed either.

Cyrus: I don’t believe that you’re just here on a crusade to make sure I don’t abuse my power. Why did you even bother coming back?

No response from Douglas so Cyrus presses further.

Cyrus: You’re injured and broken down, you’re passed it. It’s not like you could ever come back to the ring and NOT be a total embarrassment.

This pisses off Shane to no end, who takes a step forward, AND GRABS CYRUS BY THE COLLAR!!!

Douglas cocks his fist, to cheers from the fans and Corino looks set to step in, but Cyrus holds him back, not looking afraid.

Cyrus: Whoa, whoa, be careful…

He shrugs Douglas off of him, full of confidence.

Cyrus: You should know the rules by now. Talent can’t lay their hands on The Network!

Cyrus is full of attitude now, and the fans hate on their attitude. Surprisingly though, ‘The Franchise’ now gets a grin on his face.

Shane Douglas: I AM THE NETWORK… YOU FUCKING STOOGE!!!

A BIG time pop and before anybody can react… SHANE DOUGLAS TAKES DOWN CYRUS WITH A BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX!!!

The ovation is huge, as another “ECDUB”, “ECDUB”, “ECDUB” chant breaks through. Corino is having a fit, stomping his feet, red faced, but he knows it’s not in his best interest to lay his hands on Douglas.

Shane looks really serious again now, stepping into Corino’s face as Cyrus rolls around on the mat.

Shane Douglas: This isn’t over and that’s a message about how serious I am…

Suddenly, a buzz goes around the audience, some sort of commotion happening.

Shane Douglas: And here’s another…

Now we know why the crowd was buzzing, as JERRY LYNN HAS COME THROUGH THE CROWD AND ENTERED THE RING!!!

The fans are marking out and Corino has no idea, just yelling incoherently at Douglas…

WHEN LYNN TURNS CORINO AROUND… KICKS HIM IN THE GUT…

AND LYNN DRILLS THE ECW CHAMPION WITH THE CRADLE PILEDRIVER!!!

“ECDUB”, “ECDUB”, “ECDUB” chants go up as The Network has well and truly been foiled tonight. Douglas nods at Lynn, who picks up the ECW Title… AND LYNN RAISES THE TITLE ABOVE HIS HEAD TO MASSIVE CHEERS FROM THE FANS!!!

With the title on his shoulder, Lynn shares a respectful handshake with Douglas.

The two continue to stand over Corino and Cyrus, seemingly happy with how the night has gone, as we fade to black…

END OF SHOW
