Tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite is episode 250! And by my count, it means we've been doing comparisons between Dynamite and Nitro for a whole year. Suck on that, random guy on Twitter who's using the idea I stole to get more clout than I got.

Nitro 250

Nitro episode 250 took place from the Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, WV and aired on July 3, 2000. It was the go-home show for Bash at the Beach 2000. And we've seen the last of Hogan. He's not on this show! Forget building the World Title match, it's not in his contract!
  • 3 Count beat the Jung Dragons (Tank Abbott interfered)
  • Johnny the Bull beat Terry Funk in a Hardcore match
  • General Hugh G. Rection/Cpl. Cajun beat Mark Jindrak/Sean O'Haire (that push was nice while it lasted. Also the Perfect Event attacked everyone after)
  • Booker T beat The Franchise (despite an attack from Kanyon. Also, this is the first Nitro appearance of the Book End)
  • The KISS Demon beat Vampiro (thanks to a distraction from several Sting masks)
  • Rey Misterio Jr./Juventud Guerrera (w/ Disco and Konnan) beat Lance Storm/Billy Kidman
  • Kevin Nash won a 20-man battle royal last eliminating Goldberg (Nash just murdering a bunch of guys, part 2)

RAW 250

RAW episode 250 took place from the Wheeling Civic Center in Wheeling, WV and aired on March 9, 1998.
  • Ken Shamrock/Steve Blackman beat The Rock/Faarooq (w/ the Nation) by DQ
  • Barry Windham (w/ Cornette) beat Owen Hart by count-out, failing to win the WWF European Title (Chyna kicked Owen in the dick on the outside)
  • Aguila (w/ TAKA) beat Brian Christopher (w/ Lawler) by DQ
  • Cactus Jack/Chainsaw Charlie beat the Quebecers
  • Marc Mero (w/ Sable) vs. Goldust (w/ Luna) went to a no contest (Luna... scribbled on Sable's face? And the match just ended)
  • Triple H (w/ Chyna) vs. Savio Vega went to a no contest (Austin attacked everyone)

SmackDown 250

SmackDown episode 250 took place from the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI and aired on May 27, 2004.
  • The Dudley Boyz beat Rey Mysterio/Rob Van Dam
  • Booker T beat Scotty 2 Hotty
  • Eddie Guerrero vs. Danny Basham (w/ Doug) never started (Kurt Angle said he refused to let Eddie wrestle after he passed out last week)
  • Spike Dudley/Torrie Wilson beat Jamie Noble/Dawn Marie
  • Chavo Classic (w/ Chavo Jr.) beat Akio (w/ Sakoda) (why the fuck are they actually PUSHING this old fart)
  • John Cena beat Rene Dupree in a Lumberjack match to retain the WWE United States Title

NXT 250

NXT episode 250 took place from Full Sail University and aired on January 1, 2015.
  • The Lucha Dragons beat Tye Dillinger/Jason Jordan
  • Blue Pants beat Carmella (w/ Enzo and Cass)
  • Baron Corbin beat CJ Parker
  • Finn Balor/Hideo Itami beat the Ascension

Impact 250

Impact episode 250 took place from the Impact Zone and aired on April 9, 2009.
  • Sheik Abdul Bashir (w/ Kiyoshi and NO LIMIT) beat Suicide
  • Samoa Joe beat Booker T (w/ Kurt Angle) (Joe got unwanted help from AJ Styles to neutralise the Main Event Mafia)
  • James Storm (w/ Robert Roode) beat Scott Steiner (w/ Kevin Nash) by DQ (then Team 3D rushed Steiner/Nash)
  • Awesome Kong beat Velvet Sky/Madison Rayne (w/ Angelina Love)
  • The Motor City Machine Guns beat Mick Foley in a Handicap First Blood match (Sting hit Foley with a chair)

Tonight's BLOOD AND GUTS episode of AEW Dynamite is number 251, and so that means I've got to relive another Nitro.

Nitro 251

Nitro episode 251 took place from the Jacksonville Coliseum in Jacksonville, FL and aired on July 10, 2000. It was the fallout show from Bash at the Beach 2000. So... how about that Hogan?
  • Shane Douglas (w/ Torrie) beat Crowbar (w/ Daffney)
  • Jeff Jarrett beat Billy Kidman (Shane and Torrie interfered)
  • Booker T beat Mike Awesome to retain the WCW World Heavyweight Title
  • Big Vito beat Norman Smiley/Ralphus to retain the WCW Hardcore Title
  • Lance Storm beat the Artist (w/ Paisley) (this is the beginning of Storm's Team Canada run, the highlight of 2000 WCW!)
  • KroniK beat Gen. Rection/Cpl. Cajun (w/ MIA) to retain the WCW World Tag Team Titles
  • Jeff Jarrett beat Goldberg, Scott Steiner, and Kanyon in a WCW World Heavyweight Title #1 Contender's Match (setting up Jarrett/Booker and also Goldberg/Steiner for New Blood Rising. Wonder how that goes?)

RAW 251

RAW episode 251 took place from the America West Arena in Phoenix, AZ and aired on March 17, 1998. This RAW actually aired on Tuesday, as its initial airing was pre-empted by, of all things, the Patrick Stewart version of Moby Dick. I can't make this up.
  • Ken Shamrock beat D'Lo Brown by DQ (the Rock interfered)
  • Jeff Jarrett (w/ Tennessee Lee) beat Tom Brandi (he came in on an actual horse)
  • The Headbangers beat the Rock 'n Roll Express/Jim Cornette to retain the NWA World Tag Team Titles
  • Kane beat Go the Gorilla (this isn't really a match but I wanted to highlight it - the Phoenix Suns' gorilla mascot showed up all over this show until Kane attacked him)
  • Chainsaw Charlie beat Billy Gunn (w/ Road Dogg) by DQ
  • Triple H (w/ Chyna) beat Owen Hart to win the WWF European Title (Chyna re-injured Owen's ankle and HHH made him tap in seconds)
  • Luna (w/ Goldust) vs. Sable (w/ Marc Mero) never started (WWF officials tried to stop the catfight, they had one anyway with clothes ripping, Kane showed up, Mero threw Sable under the bus to save himself, Taker showed up on top of the tron to confront Kane and set a coffin alight)

SmackDown 251

SmackDown episode 251 took place from the Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and aired on June 3, 2004.
  • Eddie Guerrero beat Danny Basham (w/ Doug)
  • Chavo Classic (w/ Chavo Jr.) beat Funaki to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Title (this is still going?)
  • Rey Mysterio beat Rene Dupree
  • The Undertaker vs. Booker T ended in a no contest (Paul Heyman came to remind Taker that he'd kidnapped Paul Bearer and the match just ended after Taker attacked Heyman. Booker just disappeared)

NXT 251

NXT episode 251 took place from Full Sail University and aired on January 8, 2015.
  • Hideo Itami beat Curtis Axel
  • Sasha Banks (w/ Becky) beat Alexa Bliss
  • Tyler Breeze beat Chad Gable (Chad's first TV appearance! Hope he doesn't turn out to be a family-abusing piece of shit)
  • The Lucha Dragons beat the Vaudevillains to retain the NXT Tag Team Titles

Impact 251

Impact episode 251 took place from the Impact Zone and aired on April 16, 2009. It was the go-home show for Lockdown 2009.
  • Homicide (w/ Hernandez) beat Chris Sabin (w/ Alex Shelley) and Tetsuya Naito (w/ Sheik Abdul, Kiyoshi, and Yujiro) (this is the initial seeds of the World Elite stable)
  • Awesome Kong/Raisha Saeed/Taylor Wilde beat the Beautiful People
  • Abyss/Daffney beat Cody Deaner/ODB
  • Kurt Angle beat Christopher Daniels

This reads like a feverdreamish mixture of "That escalated quickly" and "How the fuck did we end up here, from that start?"

I'm behind on things okay

Yesterday's AEW Dynamite was 252

Nitro 252

Nitro episode 252 took place from the Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, MI and aired on July 18, 2000. This aired on Tuesday because it was pre-empted by the docudrama Nuremberg. That's how far WCW has fallen.
  • Mike Awesome beat Kanyon in the quarter-finals of a WCW United States Heavyweight Title tournament (Buff and Judy Bagwell were there and Buff attacked Kanyon. This was also the debut of the Fat Chick Thriller gimmick! Delightful)
  • Lance Storm beat Buff Bagwell in the quarter-finals of a WCW United States Heavyweight Title tournament (Buff was distracted by Judy being taken to the back)
  • The Great Muta beat Vampiro (w/ Demon and ICP) in the quarter-finals of a WCW United States Heavyweight Title tournament (Demon tried and failed to distract Muta)
  • Shane Douglas (w/ Torrie) beat Billy Kidman in the quarter-finals of a WCW United States Heavyweight Title tournament

  • Mike Awesome beat The Great Muta in the semi-finals of a WCW United States Heavyweight Title tournament
  • Lance Storm beat Shane Douglas (w/ Torrie) in the semi-finals of a WCW United States Heavyweight Title tournament
  • Jeff Jarrett beat Stevie Ray (Rick Steiner and Midajah interfered)
  • Lance Storm beat Mike Awesome in the finals of the tournament to win the vacant WCW United States Title (Canadian Title time babyyyyy)

RAW episode 252 took place from the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, AZ and aired on March 23, 1998. It was the go-home show for WrestleMania XIV!
  • Cactus Jack/Chainsaw Charlie beat the Quebecers by DQ (the New Age Outlaws interfered)
  • Jeff Jarrett (w/ Tennessee Lee) beat Steve Blackman

  • Steve Austin beat the Rock

SmackDown 252

SmackDown episode 252 took place from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY and aired on June 10, 2004.
  • Kenzo Suzuki (w/ Hiroko) beat Scotty 2 Hotty (finally, Kenzo's debut!)
  • Rey Mysterio beat Chavo Guerrero (w/ Chavo Classic)
  • John Cena... competed in a gauntlet against Booker T, Rob Van Dam, and Rene Dupree (Kurt Angle set up a 5-minute gauntlet with Booker, RVD and Dupree, to see who'd get the shot against Cena at GAB 2004. All failed to beat Cena in time, then Cena beat Dupree in overtime, but Angle arbitrarily decided that all of them would get the title shot. SmackDown 2004, everyone!)

  • Eric Young/Jethro Holliday beat NO LIMIT in the quarter-finals of the Team 3D Invitational Tournament

Tonight's AEW Dynamite is episode number 253

Nitro 253

Nitro episode 253 took place from the CSU Center in Cleveland, OH and aired on July 24, 2000.
  • Lance Storm beat Big Vito to retain the WCW United States Heavyweight Title and win the WCW Hardcore Title
  • Lt. Loco/Major Gunns beat David Flair/Miss Hancock
  • KroniK vs. Jeff Jarrett for the WCW World Tag Team Titles went to a no contest (okay, so. Deep breaths. Bryan Clark got attacked backstage, and the weapon was suspiciously like a broken guitar. Brian Adams hit a big boot and leg drop, seemingly at the urging of Russo so commentators could take a shot at Hogan when it wasn't the finish. Clark showed up late, and they teased High Times through a table, but the referee stopped them so they gave the ref the move instead. And did I mention this all happened in sub-6 minutes? WCW!)
  • Vampiro (w/ ICP) vs. the Great Muta went to a no contest (it's unclear whether this match even started. The Cat was the special guest ref because you legally must have him. Both Vampiro and Muta attacked Cat and Muta joined the Dark Carnival. Also the KISS Demon showed up)
  • Goldberg beat Booker T but didn't win the WCW World Heavyweight Title (what. It was meant to be Booker/Sting but newly heel Goldberg attacked Sting. He squashed Booker for three minutes, Stevie Ray threw in the towel (for no real reason), Goldberg threw the towel back out, Cat came out to declare Goldberg the winner. And yet Goldberg was not the champion, Booker still was. Also, Sting was chosen as the result of a poll, of which they threw out the result. WCW!)
  • Buff Bagwell (w/ Judy) vs. Kanyon never started (Kanyon didn't show, Buff declared himself the winner, then Kanyon attacked Buff while disguised as a cameraman before abducting Judy)
  • Mike Awesome (w/ three plus-size women) beat Shane Douglas (w/ Torrie) (Shane was distracted by the airing of Torrie's sex tape with Billy Kidman)
  • Rey Misterio Jr./Juventud Guerrera lost a four-way Caged Heat Elimination match also involving Gen. Rection/Cpl. Cajun, the Perfect Event, and Mark Jindrak/Sean O'Haire (losers of this match were out of the four-way tag title match at New Blood Rising)
  • Booker T beat Goldberg to retain the WCW World Heavyweight Title (Jeff Jarrett and Cat both attacked Goldberg)
The fuck is this shit?

  • Kurrgan (w/ Jackyl) beat Chainz
  • Jeff Jarrett (w/ Tennessee Lee) beat Aguila (and then Steve Blackman attacked Jarrett)
  • Ken Shamrock/Steve Blackman beat The Rock/Faarooq (w/ the Nation) (the Nation turned on Faarooq)
  • Marc Mero (w/ Sable) beat TAKA Michinoku (Kai En Tai debuted to attack-a TAKA)
  • The New Midnight Express (w/ Jim Cornette and Dan Severn) beat the Headbangers to win the NWA World Tag Team Titles
  • The New Age Outlaws beat Cactus Jack/Chainsaw Charlie to win the vacant WWF World Tag Team Titles (HHH and THE RETURNING X-Pac came out to interfere, solidifying the most famous lineup of D-Generation X! We're in the Attitude Era now!)

SmackDown 253

SmackDown episode 253 took place from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL and aired on June 17, 2004. This also featured an absolutely interminable promo by JBL, who was unhappy at being fired by CNBC for literally doing Nazi salutes in a country where it's very illegal.

  • Eddie Guerrero beat Doug Basham (w/ Danny)
  • Kenzo Suzuki (w/ Hiroko) beat Spike Dudley

You should note X-Pac returned from WCW that Raw too, it's noticeable for being the first real Raw after Mania surprise before that actually became a thing
