RAVEN CASTING ANNOUNCED

Continuing the casting announcements for future DC projects. We today now have our fourth member of the group known as the Titans revealed. With us already being introduced to the more grounded and street level Dick Grayson (Dacre Montgomery), the more technological and futuristic Victor Stone (Denzel Whittaker) and now the alien princess Koriand'r (Savannah Smith). We will now be introduced to a more darker and horror element with the story of Rachel Roth aka Raven. Described as a troubled young woman who has spent many years in Azarath being raised by Monks, unlike the other heroes we have met so far, there are a lot of questions regarding just who is Rachel Roth and where did she come from. Shown to be incredibly powerful with gifts going further than her own comprehension.

This of course wouldn't be the first live interpretation of the Raven character as similar to many of the titans we first saw a look at her in the titans series as she was played by Teagan Croft. Seen as a true highlight of the show by many it is believed that writers of Tale of the Titans and producers rather than cast anew, actually brought in Croft and allowed her to audition for the role. It was said while Croft did well in her audition, it was instead a case of Croft being offered a different role in the DC Extended Universe which ruled her out of the running for the character of Rachel Roth/Raven. With Raven being such a popular character and one with such a darker story to tell it was said the casting process for this was extensive.

Taissa Farmiga who voiced the character before in animated films was also a candidate we know who was considered. Sadly an early fan favorite casting of Jenna Ortega was ruled out due to scheduling conflicts but we know that writers of the DC Extended Universe are eager to work with the Wednesday star. A few names we know for definite to have auditioned or spoke about the role included Megan Suri, Esme Creed Miles, India Eisley, Britt Baron, Joey King and Talia Ryder. It was said of this group both Eisley and Baron were in big discussion for the role when an actress who writers also had sought to work with similar to Ortega would agree to audition and became the hands down choice.

We can now confirm today in some exciting news that Dafne Keen has signed on and agreed to play the part of Rachel Roth. The 19 year old actress of course is no stranger to Superhero movies having memorably played the character of Laura aka X-23. It is said that Keen very much was able to portray the awkwardness and introverted side of Raven as she was never quite sure of who she could trust or let in. It has also been confirmed that Russian actress Yuliya Snigir has signed on to play the part of Raven's mother Angela Roth.

BEAST BOY CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT

In a continuation of a recent trend of announcements which preview chapter four of the DC Extended Universe. We know that today we will for now meet the final member of the Tale of the Titans Series. Having already been introduced to Dick Grayson (Dacre Montgomery) and Victor Stone (Denzel Whittaker) and having had announcements relating to Koriand'r/Starfire (Savannah Smith) and Rachel Roth/Raven (Dafne Keen). We know that the final film in the tale of the titans series has been described as it's most off the wall, ambitious, wild and comic centered yet as we focus on the story of Garfield Logan aka Beast Boy.

Described as playful, energetic, and often immature. It is said there is a lot more to these antics beneath the surface as there is a sadness and depression to Beast Boy which might be missed by the untrained eye. This of course won't be the first ever live action appearance of Beast Boy with Ryan Potter playing the character in the Titans series. In a similar fashion to what happened with Raven it was believed that Ryan Potter was afforded the option to reaudition for the role, but in this case Potter opted to pursue other roles within the franchise while also offering to help with the casting process.

It was said early on that at the top of the casting director's list was Timothee Chalamet. Reports indicate that Chalamet himself was very much open to the role and interested in working with the DC Extended Universe. Unfortunately due to outside scheduling conflicts, a deal could not be made but we know that both parties are very much said to be eager to working together in the future. A couple of names we do know who expressed an interest in the role were Ian Ousley and Inaki Godoy. Unfortunately for both it was said that neither got too far in the audition process. One name who did however was Gen V star Derek Luh who we know narrowly missed out on the part, the same was also said for Shazam star Asher Angel who was described for a time to be the first pick for the roel.

Narrowly edging out his former Shazam colleague, we can now confirm that Jack Dylan Grazer has in fact been the actor selected to portray the role of Garfield Logan/Beast Boy. Glazer of course is no stranger to the DC universe as he previously played Freddie Freeman in the Shazam film series. It is said that Glazer's performances as Freddie showed that he could very much bring the intricacies of Garfield's character to life in his Tales of the Titans debut.

This will be explored in the third Flash film as we know that Barry Allen will be thrust into the Speed verse where he will be introduced to all manner of speedsters some friendly and some not. This includes names such as Jay Garrick, Wally West and Jesse Quick. It has been confirmed that Kevin Grevioux, Serinda Swan, Lorenzza Izzo and Michael Trevino have signed on to appear.

New Killer Star - Black Canary solo film
For the first time the character known as Laurel Lance aka Black Canary will receive her first live film. Having appeared in the Green Arrow film, we know that this film will very much act as a solo introduction for the character of Black Canary and what lead to her capture. Along with Laurel Lance, we know that this film will also act as the introduction of Dina Drake to the DC Extended Universe. In what will be a Cobra Kai reunion we know that William Zabka, Martin Kove and Sean Kanan have signed on to join the cast.

A New Guy in Town - Guy Gardener solo film
With Guy Gardner set to make his live action debut in the Green Lantern sequel. We know a solo film has also been commissioned for the character of Guy Gardner and will serve as his formal origin story. As we know this film will serve as the introduction of the characters fire and ice. With Cam Gigandet of course portraying the titular character this film will serve as a Twilight reunion with Peter Facinelli, Taylor Lautner, Billy Burke, Jackson Rathbone and Rachelle Lefevre joining the cast in supporting roles.

Girl in the World - Supergirl sequel
With Saorise Ronan's Supergirl making her recent debut as part of the second Superman film. We already know that a solo film has been commissioned for the titular character. We do know however that Demetrius Grosse, Chaske Spencer, Demore Barnes and Michael Pitt have joined the cast.

Cry for Justice - Justice League 3
Ending this chapter of the DC Extended Universe will be it's third Justice League Crossover event. Having already faced dangerous threats such as the Queen of Fables, Despero and Starro. We know that following the events of Justice League II, the league won't find themselves against an intergalactic threat or alien. Instead they will a face a man on a quest for revenge as Prometheus makes his DCEU live action debut. STEEL CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT

In some exciting news today a new hero set to arrive in chapter four of the DC Extended Universe has been confirmed. As we now have a casting for the upcoming Steel movie. This movie will of course focus on the titular character of John Henry Irons AKA Steel. While perhaps not one of the bigger names in the DC Universe, this will be far from Steel's first live action appearance or film for that matter. As we know the character was previously brought to life in the much maligned 1997 film with Shaquille O'Neal as the titular character while later the character found new life in the Superman and Lois series played by Wole Parks. It has been noted in relation to this character, with this film sticking true to the character's comic origins a full recast has always been the plan with this character.

Said to be a story of a man who gradually came to the horrifying realization of what his legacy would in fact become. A weapons designer and manufacturer, Steel's story is said to be one which will see him battle with his conscience and the decisions of his past. It was said for this role, while there wasn't perhaps an out pouring of auditions everyone who did elect to audition for the role was said to have been in heavy consideration making this one of the most competitive roles yet. Some names we do know to have auditioned for the role include Mike Colter, Henry Simmons, Kofi Siriboe, William Jackson Harper and Trevante Rhodes. It is said that these actors while unsuccessful at this time, are people that the DCEU is eager to work with in the future.

We can now confirm that actor Omari Hardwick will be the actor tasked with bringing John Henry Irons aka Steel to life. It is said part of the reason for Hardwick's casting was down to his portrayal as Ghost in Power. This is thanks in part to the character's cold, ruthless behavior which will be on display in the character's earlier appearances. It is said that Over the course of the film we will see John Henry Irons and his personality change as he no longer wished his legacy to be defined by a body count.
