OOC: No I'm not cool with that. I have work this week but I'm still lookin to bust my ass and TT more than once for this. So no we're not leaving this at 1-1-1.
Jericho backs up a bit from Austin and smiles at him, a surprising thing for Jericho to do. Suddenly, it fades and a scowl crosses the face of Y2J, as he doesn't look at all amused with Stone Cold. He paces back and forth as he talks.
Jericho:Austin, I'm not sure if the microphone shot to your head has cut a little too deep, and perhaps wracked that alcohol-ridden brain of yours, but I don't think you realise quite who you're talking to. Do you see who I am? I am Chris Jericho, I am the greatest thing to ever happen to this business, PERIOD. Whether you like it or not, Austin, I HAVE beaten you. I beat you at Vengeance 2001 to become the Undisputed Champion, in the second match I had that night, after I had also sustained a back injury during my match with the Rock earlier on in the night. I don't "spin tales", Austin, I simply reveal the truth. You seem to want the spotlight on you an awful lot, so allow me to take the role of that spotlight. I'm shining down on you Austin, and I'm going to reveal just what a sham all of this is. The Hell Yeah's, the Beer Swilling, the Stone Cold Stunners, everything about you Austin, it's a FRAUD. You're as much of a hypocrite as these people are, as Cena is, as CM Punk is. You're no better, and frankly, I'm starting to wonder if you've gone a little soft.
The crowd boo Jericho, infuriated that he may be questioning the ruthlessness of the Texas Rattlesnake. You can clearly say Austin mouth "Soft?" and Jericho nods condescendingly as he continues.
Jericho:That's right, Austin, you've gone soft. I remember you being this tough as nails bionic redneck, and even though that was a complete shambles of a story, you were at least a small part truthful about it. Now, it appears Austin, the truth has dwindled. You're no longer the Unpredictable Texas Rattlesnake, you're no longer the baddest SOB in this business, frankly, Austin, you've become irrelevant. You're no different to Cena, Sheamus, CM Punk, all the rest of them, you're just another man who panders to these crowds of parasites. You've beaten the world champion, Finlay, and that's all well and good, but when your only claim to fame in this company is beating a 52 year old man, one of the few men left that are older than you, I think that's just sad. You're not the anti-hero they supported, not the posters on the wall, not the man who rose hell and never looked back. When you did that, Austin, I could STILL beat you, and now as I've reached my prime I can do it even better, whereas you've faded into obscurity. Austin, you've become another fairy tale story here on WAR, with the unsung hero, sham or not, pulls through in the end. What I think you and everyone else has to realise is that not every story has a happy ending.
Jericho gets right in Austin's face now, staring down the coldest eyes in the history of the wrestling business and he bakcs out once more to continue his tirade.
Jericho:And your time is coming, Austin, your story's ending, and I'm the man who's gonna write you off the final page. I'm going to make waves in this business, too long have the walls of falsehood blocked the message of truth, and I'm going to break down those walls, Austin. Guys like you, and guys like our champion, and men who time after time like to pretend they're an unappreciated crusader when in reality they are handed title shots again and again while I wait patiently. It's like a disease spreading through the business, Austin, and you're one of the causes. I'm the antidote for this industry, I'm the one thing that's going to breathe life back into wrestling, like it or not, Austin, I'm your saviour. I'm beginning a crusade, a quest, against the misty lies and fog that seems to block everyone's vision from what you really are. From CM Punk's insecurities about alcohol to your addiction to it, I'm going to shine a light on. Everything about you, Austin, I know all too well, and you should never forget it. Don't you EVER try and challenge my character again, or you'll live to regret it.
Jericho:Although, Stone Cold, you're right, I did open up the flood-gates, maybe we will see that fire and drive that once inhabited the Stone Cold Steve Austin of old, of the times popularly known as the "Attitude Era" where you were at your peak, and my stellar career had begun, but it was still oh so great. I cemented my place in history over 6 times, and you've done similarly. If you want to compare careers in CWF, Austin, maybe I should mention I am a two time Intercontinental Champion, whereas you have accomplished nothing. I didn't smack you in the head with the microphone to try and unleash you, Austin, simply to show your dullness and lack of awareness, perhaps due to your alcoholism over the years. I don't know what kind of strange masochistic tendencies you have in that case, Austin, but I will NOT strike you with this microphone. Because one, I have to use it to speak, two, there is no real need to, I can simply humiliate you at Invasion, and three, you're just not worth it. You're not worth the effort of giving these parasites what they want Austin, you'll never be anything when it comes to me, because I am the Best in the World at what I-
Austin suddenly interjects, which pisses off Jericho greatly as he stares coldly across at him.
The Invasion arena is on fire! Not literally, but the crowd are electric awaiting for something to happen, one of their favourite stars to emerge and entertain. This unfortunately is not one of them....
I WALK ALONE!
Batista walks out onto the ramp, and slowly takes a breath before spinning with his arms held out, and punches the air before walking forward, and with a smirk, stopping, slaps he ground and performs his turret taunt as fireworks go off behind him. One more punch in the air and The Animal makes his way towards the ring.
Batista walks up the ring steps and climbs into the ring, to get a microphone. When he gets it he stands in the middle of the ring, and patiently waits for his spotlight to shine on him, and just him, before he begins to speak.
The Animal, Batista: Is everyone starting to get it yet? Is everybody starting to get the picture? The main event is not Finlay Vs that cheating son of a bitch Edge. The main event is not the idiots that were drafted to Honor fighting for the CWF Championship.... the main event is the man that beat Stone Cold Steve Austin so badly last Monday on War, and this Sunday is going to do exactly the same to the man that can't even face all of you because of the shame of how badly he is going to be beaten, the main event, as it always has been.... is me. We all know that this Sunday that I should be beating Finlay from here all the way to Dublin and back to take the World Heavyweight Championship, but my names not Jay-Z. I don't have ninety-nine problems.... but a bitch is most definitely one. Lita cost me my place at the top of the company to get her lover boy in my place. Well Lita, I can't for the whole world to see that Edge can't even hold a candle to Finlay, never mind me! And when you realize that your boyfriend is the biggest loser here, then.... then I will know that revenge is starting for me. Because after I get past Kane, I get the bragging rights for War, and the ultimate prize has to be a title shot.
Why am I so confident? Are those really the mutters I'm hearing for you idiots? Why is Dave Batista... confident of beating Kane? What the hell has Kane done recently, been stuck in a lovers tiff against Triple H.... the same Triple H that got beat by John Cena so easy this week?! The same John Cena I took out for weeks in thirty seconds flat?! Oh come on, this is a ridiculous match, that I shouldn't even have to take part of. So what is it? Is it the fact he wears a mask?! Is it the fact that he's so.... so.... tall, and muscly... well why don't you check this out! Back in my pay per view debut I beat oh... guess who.... Kane!!! So you see, this is not a contest... it's academic.... your winner.... representing War........ Batista!
Batista was about to leave when all of a sudden....
"Coma White" by Marilyn Manson comes blasting over the PA system, pulsating through the arena as the fans aren't sure how to react or what to think. As they all rise to their feet, inspired to do so by their peaked curiosity, the members of R.E.M.E.D.Y. make their way onto the stage. If one were viewing this on a television screen, R-Truth would be on their right and Eddie Guerrero would be on their left, with Jesse Ventura walking behind both of them. They reach the end of the ramp and walk up the steel steps, entering the ring through the ropes. Jesse Ventura hands a microphone to each of his clients as the music fades out to silence.
Eddie Guerrero: It's ironic to me that last Thursday, all of the participants of this match were so eager to get their spot, but now that they have it, almost a full week has passed and none of them have shown up to be counted. No matter, because the more you sleep at the wheel and accept your respective fates, the easier it will be for us to transition to the next phase of our mission, ese'. James Storm and Robert Roode are gone from CWF pendejos, your heroes have fallen. They came in impressively and won the championships in their first match, but it was all downhill from there. Thursday night they were exposed for what they truly are, guys that only possess verbal toughness and nothing else. So now I lead the charge to what will no doubt be our greatest accomplishment yet, holmes, when this Sunday me and Truth take out eight men at the same time, with all the pain befalling them and all the spoils going to us.
Eddie lowers his microphone as Truth steps forward.
R-Truth: Now a lot a' ya'll is wond'rin ezackly why we didn't take out The Coven. Well it certainly isn't because we're in cahoots with those blood suckas', that's fo' damn sure! The reason we didn't attack The Coven on Thursday night is simple, we wanted to save it for Invasion. What Kevin Thorn's been doing lately with the blood rain and the bitin' people, well, we like what we've seen. He's willing to do whateva' he has to ta' get his name out 'dere and make it to the top, and we respect that. And if Gangrel and Judas Mesias are anything like him, well, that's a fight I want to make sure them and us are a hundred percent ready fo'! That's a fight we should make people pay to see, and ya'll are gonna have ta' pay to see it, cuz it's happenin' at Invasion. And we're right at home in our element too. No disqualifications, nothin' off limits, just a bunch of us fightin' til either me or Eddie or both of us is left standin', and please believe, those are the only possible outcomes.
Truth lowers his microphone as Jesse Ventura steps forward.
Jesse Ventura: I've never been more proud of these two than I am right now. In a short amount of time, they've gotten themselves into the championship title picture with relative ease, and look to capture said championships with the same minimal effort. Now, aside from the punches thrown on Thursday, a lot of words were thrown around too. We were called conspiracy theorists, mindless anarchists, people pretending to be crazy. Well boys, we'll see who's pretending come Sunday.
Jesse lowers his microphone as the theme music of one of the opposing teams begins to play.
The fans in the arena are excited as "Slow Chemical" by Finger Eleven begins to play, cheering the nearing arrival of Kane and the fond sound of his former theme. Without any hesitation, the Big Red Machine makes his way from the back, where the fans are met with surprise on another matter.
The roof nearly came off of the place as they were witnessing the return of the true Monster. Kane walks up the steel steps, steps onto the apron and walks along it, then steps through the ropes and makes his way to the center of the ring.
Kane: Foolish Dave, on what grounds do you deserve such grandiose reward? Your demands are not justified, because it is not my recent accomplishments that carry no merit, but yours. What I have accomplished recently is taken every soul set in front of me and condemned it to the underworld, with the exception of David Finlay, but his time is near as well. Instead of bickering about those with power not feeling you deserve to be given it all for doing nothing, you should be focused on the challenge before you. Your memory deceives you, David, because the first time we met wasn't on pay-per-view, and it was not Kane versus Batista, but Kane versus Leviathan at an event called Christmas Chaos during the days that you were scarcely more than a peon.
Over the years, you have tasted your share of victory at my expense, but this encounter will be different than any and all before it, because you will be stepping into the ring with not a masked man or a muscle-bound freak, but a messenger of hellfire, a being that may as well be known as Death himself. When this is over, it won't be about who has bragging rights, but who gets out alive.
Kane lowers his microphone, awaiting a response from Batista.
Not just any theme music though. The them music that interrupts R.E.M.E.D.Y is one of the most famous themes in wrestling folklore!
Road Dogg: Oh! You didn't know?! Your ass better CALL SOMEBODYYYYYYYYY!
The crowd copy him as he walks out, with Billy Gunn onto the stage, James with a microphone in hand. He continues to welcome the crowd as he approaches the ring.
Road Dogg: Cleveland Ohiooo!!! You are here with the New Age Outlaws! You are now rockin with the best of the best!
The Outlaws make their way into the ring and keep saluting the fans until their music gets cut. Road Dogg lifts the mic to his lips, and the whole crowd say in unison with him....
Road Dogg: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, D-Generation-X proudly presents to you the the best ever Tag Team of the Wooooooorld. The Road Dogg Jesse James, the Bad Ass Billy Gunn, the New Age Outlaws!
Road Dogg then passes the mic to Billy Gunn.
Billy Gunn: And if your not down with that then we got two words for you... SUCK IIIIIT!
Now Jesse, I understand why these two nobodies would want to make a team together, can't get anywhere on their own so instead they get together, but you?! Man your older than old! You looked old on that Summerslam VHS cover..... and that was twelve years ago man, that was... that was before DVD, and Bush, and everything! I don't understand why your still here, because you certainly didn't do anything for the state of Minnesota, and your certainly not doing anything for these two! Me and the dee-oh-double-gee got two words for you Jesse.... GIVE UP!
Now people not part of the match aside, we know there are more people to join the dance, and I know Road Dogg was hoping to be in the CWF Championship match but in no way... NO WAY! Is this Plan B, ain't that right Jesse!?
Billy throws the mic gently over to Jesse who catches it in one hand, and in one swift movement lifts it to his mouth.
Road Dogg: You are one hundred and thirty six percent correct there Badd Ass. And Retribution, that was a few months ago... but the Road Dogg is bringing it back, and he is bringing it back for The Coven. Gangrel, Judas Mesias! We are coming after you, and we are going to feed you to all the doggs in the front row here! I hope your afterlife is going to be brighter than your previous one boys, because don't be too surprised if the end of your current ain't too damn far away!
Who else do we have.... ummm.... oh, yeah, V1! Billy, how are V1 here? I don't.... I don't get it..... didn't you show me a video of Matt Hardy's suicide?! Are we fighting a dead man or is it all this Undertaker bullcrap coming full circle. Even if Matt didn't decide to pop his clogs we're only fighting one man, Shannon Mooore?! Only other Shannon I know is a girl so I don't think we even need to worry about those guys!
Now, I'm sure there's someone else...... oh yes, I remember now, The Toffees! The two Englishmen, Wade Barrett and William Regal! You think your coming over to our country, taking our jobs, our championships! Don't you make me laugh fellas. Stick to cricket or rugby or whatever your mediocre at, because it sure to damn ain't wrestling!
You are looking at the next Tag Team Champioooons of the Wooooooorld..... and if your not down with that, then we got two words for ya!
Some of the crowd chant Suck It.... but cannot be heard properly for the next theme music to start.
The crowd begin to boo as the lights go to a dark red hue. Smoke emits from the stage and a fiery circle forms on said stage. From the circle emerge The Coven without their leader Kevin Thorn. Ariel leads the charge leading down the two evil henchmen of The Coven.
Ariel walks round and gets up onto the ring apron, she does her bat pose as Gangrel walks up the ring steps, goblet in hand. He takes a drink from the goblet before spitting it up into the air so it lands down on the crowd and all over himself. Judas Mesias simply slides into the ring and spits blood from his mouth as he sits himself in the corner. Ariel has a microphone and the vampiric vixen speaks.
Ariel: Excuse us for interrupting, but we have something to say. Last Thursday night there was a mass brawl... a fracus... but, there was but one team who refused to do battle with The Coven. R.E.M.E.D.Y. Now, R-Truth has explained it all, as much as a rambling lunatic possibly can. He says that he wants Gangrel and Judas Mesias to be one hundred percent, well wish and you shall recieve, however I must warn you, your wishes will bring nothing but bloodshed and damnation for all involved. For you have left to you and your opponents, two bloodthirsty vampire warriors who are hungry for blood, and for gold.
The crowd boo as Gangrel takes to the microphone.
Gangrel: Excuse me Ariel, but I must break my silence. Jesse Venture, what you have pieced together here may very well be the most laughable tag team of all time. Ha-ha, you two buffoons honestly believe in your silly little hearts that you can defeat the team of Gangrel and Judas Mesias. I'm sorry to burst your bubbles... but that just isn't possible. Judas and I have been planning for many a year regarding our attack on this company... plotting alongside our great leader Kevin Thorn and our Queen, Ariel... and our plot includes complete and utter domination of the company... now the tag team titles are cross branded aren't they?, yeah, so with us gaining the Tag Team Championships, we can wreak havoc and unleash our dark plague on both Honour and WAR... and with Kevin Thorn, 'The Master of Macabre' taking the CWF Championship back to The Coven... ha-ha, nothing will ever be able to stop us!. Our match is just part of a two piece jigsaw that begins and concludes at Invasion... The Coven shall leave soaked in blood and covered in gold... and with the entire company trembling under our grip...
Gangrel laughs evilly as the crowd boo the fanged veteran.
The crowd goes absolutely crazy when the smoke rises up and they only know it could be one man. The Rated R Superstar comes out to his trademark theme song "Metalingus" as he walks through the smoke with a determined look on his face.
Edge looks around and walks in nodding his head. He has his signature coat on and looks down to the floor. He looks up and poses for the crowd with fireworks going off everywhere.
Edge runs after that into the ring with a huge smirk on his face now. He gets up and hops on the top rope and looks into the crowd. The crowd is cheering loudly as Edge takes his coat off and gets the microphone.
"The Rated R Superstar" Edge The time has finally come. It's been a journey but in a few short days we will see the end of the old Irishman reign of boredom and the beginning of THE RATED R ERA! I know Cleveland has seen many disappointments with their teams and overall moments. But please cherish this moment like I know all of you will when I win the championship. I know your hometown hero The Miz isn't around, even though calling him a hero is pretty bad. Really, god damn it now I'm talking like him. Anyway this Sunday is going to be a clash though because I got to handle it to the old fella he's experienced. Finlay has countered me so far in mind games, which has been shocking. I went for a clear spear and he somehow dodged which made me hit The Celtic Warrior. I applaud you, but I'm just getting started. Sunday it's going to be another whole world of hurt. Everything you have done, I have scouted and it's going to lead to your fate being sealed. You won't have your little ugly son trying to screw me and that little toy you hold won't be used either. For your shortcomings, I know you need all the help you can get. That won't be the case Sunday because it's been countered and scouted. It's all on you and we all know that your not capable of doing that grandpa.
The crowd laughs a bit while Edge chuckles to himself. He gets serious again and goes on.
Edge: I've been the hottest superstar on the roster lately. Everyone that has been put in front of me, I've defeated in different ways. These aren't pushovers, some are sure fire championship worthy. Well I don't think Batista, Christian, and John Morrison are very good but guys like CM Punk and Chris Jericho have been beaten. Everyone of them doubted me like your going to doubt me but they all suffered the same fate like you on Sunday. I can get all inspirational on how historic this is for my comeback and how gruesome the rehab was, but screw it. We never got to do a Cutting Edge on you, but let me expose you old man. You've finally won the big one after years of being in the business. Instead of savoring it and thanking the fans, you decide to become a jackass and be egotistical. I like stories of how guys worked hard to win the major title but not guys who have know abused the title. I see the way you defend it and use it as your personal way to drink like the bum you are. You give the illustrious title a bad name, you give the people a bad name, and the whole company is given a bad name when your face is being shown as the face. It gets under my skin so much and it's things like this that I enjoy saving people from. Most importantly it's for all of you and I hate to sound so corny, but I've learned to give the credit people deserve. It's only fair in this world, even if I'm Rated R and bad ass. To give you all the real facts and truth is the biggest joy in my heart.
Edge takes a second pause when the crowd starts a "Thank You Edge" chant. The light is glaring on Edge, as he looks down before speaking again.
Edge: You can call it shameless pandering or whatever the crap you put it these days, but it's the truth. All of you put in your hard earned money to watch this great action. From the wrestling, intense segments, comedy, and most importantly entertainment. Finlay isn't very good at that and your not getting your money's worth. I take pride in making sure I have no flaws and that I can be cheered on by any kid any age. It feels great so much and it's something I have to put out there. It's the main reason why I came back and what drives me to this day. Unlike everyone on the roster, my achievements are endless and I've accomplished everything. The motivation to come back was to give back to the fans. I've done so many horrible things that crossed so many lines and it made one of the biggest villains ever. Now I really want to make that up to you even though I achieved everything I wanted to. My Edgeheads are the inspiration because I heard them calling for me and e-mailing me saying they need me in any way. So Finlay you can think it's all cute and corny, but this is me. I am one of the greatest all time while your just going to be some one time fluke. I know it's tough for you since my fan base is somehow bigger than your beer collection the last 20 years. It's tough not to be relevant Finlay, so you had to be a jackass. Been there and done that, achieved a lot but never the greatest satisfaction unless it was a live sex celebration if you know what I mean!!
The crowd whistles at that, while Edge is nodding joking around. Eventually he gets the command of the crowd to go on.
Edge: Speaking of Lita, she will be in my corner Sunday. I am proud that she is and I know she will have my back. She will make sure that little bastard doesn't sneak around and cost me in any way. It's my time to shine and I've worked hard for this. After years of abuse to all of you, it's my time to make it up to you. This is my moment, the 15 minutes of fame is over Finlay. Your the only man to have pinned me at CWF which I applaud you on but their is no way in hell your going to roll me up like that again. It's going to be a pure fight and I have no problem beating you at your own game of brawling. I've taken punches to the face my entire life, nothing changes here. What I can promise you Finlay is that when you feel my wrath things do change. Things like grasping for air when your locked in the Edgecator or trying to gain consciousness from an Edgecution. But just like Sheamus felt last week, their is something you have never felt before you will feel. Your fate has been sealed Sunday Finlay and it will be because of a SPEAR!!!!!
The crowd goes wild and starts a SPEAR chant but it doesn't last long as Finlay comes out in a furious mood.
The crowd immediately begins to boo as the countdown begins until we see the emergence of Matt Hardy Version 1 and his MF'er Shannon Moore. They appear as we get a Matt Fact. Tonight's Matt Fact is “Matt's IQ is 139â€. Matt comes out first then followed by Shannon.
They walk down the ramp, never leaving eye contact with their opponents in the ring. Matt calls for a microphone and is given one by a ringside employee. Both men climb into the ring and eye up everyone inside. Matt then starts in as the crowd dies down a bit.
Matt Hardy: You know, as I take a good hard look around this ring, I see nothing but complete and utter embarrassment. I mean, everyone is bickering at everyone. R.E.M.E.D.Y. is mad at The Coven. The Coven is mad at R.E.M.E.D.Y. and the New Age Outlaws.....well they are busy being irrelevant as always. You see, everything that you all have just said is all a moot point because the only people walking out of Invasion as the new CWF Tag Team Champions are the two men who stand before you: Matt Hardy Version 1 and my MF'er Shannon Moore because we are above all of you.
The crowd is still boo-ing Matt and Shannon out of the building here tonight. Their opponents seem less than enthused to have them here.
Matt Hardy: I can tell by the blank emotionless expressions on all of your faces that you don't like us out here, but quite frankly it doesn't matter what you like. R.E.M.E.D.Y. you guys think you have it made in the shade, don't you? You've gotten a few cheap victories and jumped the now former Tag Team Champions from behind. Is that supposed to intimidate us? Eddie, Truth, and even you Governor.....or should I say “Couldn't hack it presidential candidateâ€, intimidation is not in our vernacular. It is not a Mattribute we associate ourselves with. I've said this before and I will say it again: You are not here to “Remedy†anything here in the CWF. If anything, it's people like you who spread its disease to every orifice of its body. You are a poison that needs to be given an antidote and we have a double-dose of Mattitude here just waiting to inject.
Matt turns to face the members of The Coven next.
Matt Hardy: The Coven. We're not interested in learning about all of the “dark powers†or about how you guys are vampires here to suck the life-blood out of the CWF. You are about as much of vampires as the cast of True Blood or that no-talent Robert Pattinson. Your mind games and your whimsical fantasies, they don't interest us or frighten us in any way, shape, or form. But I believe that you believe in what you say, so instead of believing in some fake supernatural higher-power, why don't you take up something meaningful and worthwhile and become a Follower of Mattitude. Just ask Shannon here, being an MF'er is a rewarding experience full of learning, growing, and expanding. I could always use more minds to mold. You 3 are under some sort of brainwashing by that pseudo-freak Hot Topic frequent shopper Kevin Thorn to truly understand what I'm saying to you so just hear this: There is no way you are going to be CWF Tag Team Champions.
Matt and Shannon then begin to wrap up their speech.
Matt Hardy: But, like I said none of you......wait a second. Duh, I almost forgot. You two just kind of blend in and are so highly unnoticeable that I almost forgot about you guys. Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, The New Age Outlaws or can I call you what you truly are: The Old School Never-Beens because honestly, when have you ever done anything noteworthy in this ring? The answer is never. You two have never truly applied yourselves, have you? Well, no worries, because when you step into the ring with us, you're forced to step your game up so we look forward to seeing what you two can really do.....not that it would matter because, unlike your childish attempts to blow us off, we really can because we have accepted Mattitude into our lives and that just plain makes us better than you.
Matt and Shannon are still walking around with Matt doing all the talking.
Matt Hardy: And to the Emperors of Royalty, who were to afraid to come out here, I just want to congratulate you on making the best decision of your entire miserable lives because Shannon and I, we're not here to play the blame game or point fingers. We are out here to send a message that our Mattributes will lead us to a victory and those CWF Tag Team Championships will come home right where they belong to Team Mattitude. And you can believe that Mattitude WILL....NOT.....DIE.....
Finlay’s music hits and he walks down the ramp, shilleleagh in hand and CWF Championship around his waist, with Hornswoggle by his side to a boos from the crowd. He slowly makes his way into the ring, before moving over to the turnbuckle and climbs it just staring at the crowd and then raises his newly won CWF Heavyweight Championship and lets out a sly grin..
They hop down, Finlay stops and looks around at the big crowd, and continues to take it all in before walking over and grabbing the mic. He has a quick glance at Edge before making his address.
FINLAY: Another week, another victory for me, and more momentum built up towards the pay per view. There seems to be a pattern building up around here. I win at the pay per view, lose a match the night after because I am positively screwed from the night before, then I freshen up for a week, and build up the momentum by winning each week on War, and then retain my title at the pay per view, and thus the cycle begins all over again. Last week the Primetime Champion here on War came out, threatened to destroy me, and I offered him an out. I offered him the opportunity to learn from the best, being me for those keeping score at home, and he flat out turned me down. I then proved to him what a big mistake he made by kicking his ass all over the arena on Monday night. Not that it was unexpected, but it really is nice to see someone leaving with egg over their face when they make a mistake. Maybe if you’re listening to this Sheamus, you might decide to reconsider my offer in the near future. Like I said last week, countrymen and outsiders need to stick together, and that is exactly what the two of us are. Follow the best and one day you may take over from the best, you never know.
Crowd boos and Finlay ignores them before turning his attention to Edge.
Finlay sucks chants, and Finlay pauses a few moments before continuing.
You’ve always been one of those people, I’m not ashamed to say, that I’ve been jealous of. You walked into this business, fresh faced and not a care in the world and you were blessed straight away. You earned tag-team gold with Christian numerous times, whilst I was jobbing away in the minor leagues waiting for my shot. Then you did the smartest thing of your career and went out on your own where you earned second tier titles, whilst I was still jobbing away in the minor leagues. Then I finally get my shot in the big time at around the age of 48, and your already a multiple time world champion who has accomplished probably more than anyone in the entire business. It is a hard pill to swallow seeing someone younger than you walk by you and seemingly do it all so easily when you are working your ass off and getting nowhere. It really is no wonder that there was a jealous streak building up inside of me in those days. The thing about jealousy though, is that it often makes you strive to make more of yourself, even if you feel as though you have nothing more to give. It’s that same jealousy that has given me a new lease on life here in the CWF. And now that man that I’ve been jealous of for so many years is here in the same business, and I am actually ahead of him, I am the leader of the business and he is standing here wanting to take my title away from me. What a bitter pill that would be to swallow. The only solace that I am taking from that thought is the simple fact that I will not let it happen. Not this man, in this time. Maybe ten years ago, when the desire wasn’t as great I would have stood aside and stayed down for the pinfall. I never had anything to fight for back then, but now, now I have this gold that is making me fight like I have never fought before. If you want to keep me down, you are going to kill me, a task I wish you the best with.
Crowd boos, but Finlay is on a roll.
Now I know you came out here and said a whole heap of stuff, and I’ve probably ignored most of it up until now. But how about I go through something that you said and tell you why you are one hundred per cent wrong. You said I am not entertaining these people. I do not consider coming out here and cracking jokes and having life sex celebrations to be what these people pay there money to see. I consider them to come here to watch people fight and get a kick out of seeing blokes getting knocked and beaten to a pulp. I consider them to come here and see a display of wrestling and grappling. I consider them to come here and see people do whatever it takes to beat there opponent. You might think it’s all about the segments and the comedy, but call me old fashioned, I think its about what actually goes on inside the ring that keeps people coming back week after week. People want to watch wrestling not people run their mouth and tell people why they are better than the other person. That’s why you will never see me come out and start mouthing off at my opponent. I will come out and defend myself every single time, but never will I come out here and pander to the crowd. I let my in-ring action do the talking most of the time, and that is why I am the champion. Not because I can come out here and crack jokes and dance with the fans. I’ve been there and done it, and it got me absolutely nowhere. Just like it is going to get you nowhere. Like I said last time, go back to being the man who didn’t give a stuff about what people thought, and maybe you would have a chance of beating me this Sunday. That man did whatever it took to win, whereas this man has too many other things going on his mind, and one of those things is going to be in his corner this Sunday.
Crowd chants “Lita,†and Finlay nods and continues.
That’s right, the lovely Lita is going to be in Edge’s corner to protect Edge from Hornswoggle. Hornswoggle? The little guy who runs around with me? You are seriously in a match for the CWF Heavyweight Championship! Anybody who thinks Hornswoggle is threat needs to take a long hard look at themselves and re-evaluate whether they are a man or not. He barely comes up to my waist and weighs less than a child and yet people blame him for losing matches to me? Yeah right, get a life people. Lita is a former women’s champion has proven in the past that she can compete with men, and thus that makes her a threat to me if she is at ringside. Come on Edge, be a man, why do you really want Lita here? Do you think you’re going to get a piece again? I would probably recommend against it mate, you really do not know where she’s been. I mean, I know you’ve probably been around the block a fair few times yourself mate, but come on, that’s just a bit dirty if she’s been with pretty much every guy you know. Drop the dead weight mate, it is only going to distract you. And trust me, if you get distracted against me, all that’s going to come of it is a Celtic Cross, and 1,2,3 and there goes your chances at being the CWF Champion. I am champion for a reason, and it is because I make the most of every chance that I get. You want this, bring you’re A game, because you are going to need it.
Finlay raises his belt into the air and stares into Edge’s eyes.
