those were just ideas...just showing the many different booking options....and Rock came out of nowhere to get a title shot too...so your coming out of nowhere argument holds no water...Rock beating Punk for the title is the wrong thing to do...give Punk 500 days....he has earned it

I think Rock has already proven why he deserves a shot

:this:

I'm pretty confident "Dwayne" will win the belt from Punk but I would DIE a happy mark if Punk held onto it until 'Mania.

Any of those booking plans would be a far superior and appealing option.

I'd love a a battle of the third generation superstars TBH. Although BNB and I'll be in opposite corners for that one! ;)

I think Rock has already proven why he deserves a shot
:nope:

I hate Orton so I am sure we would be..

but we are on teh same page as far as Rock v Punk

really inferno you are swallowing this shit pill WWE has given you and have no problems with it...i really don't understand how you can't see how it is bad for the company...

Rock was great he was the best at one point...but him coming back and getting the title because of his past would be like if Stone Cold came back and got a title shot...or Goldberg...

it's lame and I could easily book this better....but not like you would like it cuz you're a little shit

I'm very stressed out right now because of other shit but I'm gonna respond anyway.

Inferno, I'm just gonna ask you a simple muthafuckin' question and you better give me a DAMN good answer. What in the holy shit has Rock done to prove he deserves a shot at the title? Because he's a legend and future first ballot Hall of Famer? Fuck it. With your logic, give the damn shot to Bruno Sammartino. Have him come back and defeat Punk clean in the middle of the ring at Wrestlemania for the title just because he's a legend. Good God. No doubt, Rock is one of the best but he's already done what he needs to do in the WWE. He does NOT need a shot at the WWE Title. Especially at this point in time, at the absolute peak of CM Punk's ONE MOTHERFUCKING YEAR PLUS title reign. Did you read that correctly? ONE YEAR PLUS TITLE REIGN. You have no problems with them just throwing that away by having Dwayne come in and beat Punk for no logical reason at all? I'm perfectly fine with a Punk/Rock match at the Rumble. I'm sure it'll be great if Rock doesn't blow up in the first 5 minutes, but dammit to hell if Rock wins the title and has a 3 1/2 month title reign after we just had a 1 year+ title reign with Punk. Unacceptable.

What has he done to deserve a title shot? How about beat John Cena at WrestleMania. I understand his reign is over one year but he has no chance of moving into the #5 spot so it would be the right time to drop the belt and there's no shame in dropping it to Rock

One of the greatest things I've ever read on this forum. Remember this for future reference folks.

Now, as for The Rock ending Punk's reign? Not necessarily the evil some of you are making it out to be. The Rock is a well known entertainment star. Punk has defeated EVERYONE, from Cena to Ryback to Jericho to Big Show. The fact it's gonna take The Rock to end his reign is indictive of how good his reign has been. Tell that to the casually fan "CM Punk was WWE Champion for over a year, befroe losing it to The Rock". Sounds good, right?

And let's be honest here, at least it's not Cena.

Ooh. He beat Cena. Great. So did Tensai. Give him the shot too. Fuck it all. Who does that benefit, Inferno? Who does that put over? Other than The Rock, who does that help? Nobody. Sorry but having Rock defeat Punk for the title is a ludicrous idea and should not happen.

Now, if Punk loses the title to an up and coming superstar who has been built up as a main event star magnificently, then that's fine. He doesn't need to lose it to a guy that hasn't been on the active roster since 2003.

Okay, first things first...

First, thank you for the compliment

Second, yes, The Rock is a well known entertainment superstar, but as I said above, who does Rocky winning the title from Punk benefit, other than The Rock? Nobody. That decision helps nobody but The Rock. I have a hard time believing that Rock really does have that big of an ego that he's not gonna put over Punk at the Rumble.

Right, it's worse than Cena (in some ways, although Cena doesn't need it again either). It's a man that isn't even on the active roster. I'm sorry if I sound like a broken record but I just think it would be ridiculous.

Punk benefits. As I said, it's one thing for Cena to dethrone him, it's another for "Hollywood Action Star" The Rock to dethrone him. That says, "the regular guys on the roster couldn't get the job done, so it needed someone special to do it".

I doubt the Rock has a big enough ego to refuse the job. Rocky's always been willing to lose and take an ass whooping throughout his career. Him winning would be a business call, because as much as people don't like to hear this The Rock is a bigger draw in the main event of Wrestlemania than CM Punk is. I fully expect The Rock to give Punk loads at the rumble, it's not gonna be a straight squash by any means.

WWE's four biggest draws at this years mania include three guys not on the active roster. I know people like to rally behind the guys who wrestle day in day out (and I don't blame people for doing so), but sadly the booking has meant none of them have climbed to the level of the Brock, Rock, Taker & Cena. We can all say that Dolph Ziggler or Daniel Bryan deserve it more, but this business isn't about who deserves what, it's about who draws money.

There has not been a dominant champion in years, it's everyone with an 8 month or less title reign then they're out, or win it back for a couple months... it was in the 89's and early 90's the last era of Title reigns that actually lasted, that actually cemented a wrestler in your mind. Like Punk said himself that not even HHH, Rock, Austin, all the attitude era guys.... yeah they have 0, 10, 12 world title reigns, but would they have rather had a lot of reigns or a great definitive reign that would have set them apart from the others?

if I were them I'd let him run with this title reign, stretch it out a little longer, i mean if he beats Rock or something let him go to Mania a little passed, but if he loses to the Rock, it better lead to one hell of a Mania Rematch, cause the last thing I want to see is another Cena not so epic feud... so tired of that guy, he needs to go back to gangsta Cena... hahaha

I agree with him here. It's not as evil as it is being made. I mean we ALL are pretty sure the booking is lackluster at best and sure WWE has proven it can BLOW up a good thing. That's without saying, but everyone knows I AM down with good booking and all, but I mark out for The Rock, period.

Second, yes, The Rock is a well known entertainment superstar, but as I said above, who does Rocky winning the title from Punk benefit, other than The Rock? Nobody. I disagree. It doesn't do Rock much at all but pad an already amazing career. I tell you one thing, it creates more money like Linebacker said for the company where you know draw power is the big deal. I mean, we ALL know as I said already, WWE knows how to BLOW up some amazing things they have going, and doesn't know how to build a star. But you know what, honestly, unlike some of the great attitude wrestlers much like The Rock, they ALL had more freedom to built themselves whereas WWE now is a MORE controlled product where you can't build yourself into the main event. Just take Zack Ryder for example. He put himself over and WWE snatched the rug from under him. So, CM Punk has put himself in the same league as The Rock and other greats, and personally I wouldn't mind seeing Rock's last final hurrah be a title reign. Cause lets face it, WWE is finally almost at the bottom of the sewage drain from 2003. IMHO, that is. Stop being Rock haters btw. XD

Someone mentioned this on Twitter. I saw it a couple of days ago. If Rock does happen to defeat Punk at the Rumble for whatever reason and that leads to a rematch at Wrestlemania with Punk beating Rock for the title in the main event, then I don't give a crap. All I really want is for Punk to main event Wrestlemania and either retain or regain the WWE Championship......and to not have Rock be champion again but if I only get one of those, then I'm fine.

CM Punk has tied the almighty John Cena today with 380 days. At midnight tonight, we will see the longest reigning champion of the past 25 years.

Can't wait it's gonna be awesome to have CM Punk's name be up there with all the immortals. Even if he jobs to the Rock it was a great run while it lasted.
