Christopher Dorner: LA authorities offer $1m reward after manhunt fails | World news | The Guardian

For those who have yet to hear, former LAPD Officer Christopher Dorner reported back in '07 that his partner had assaulted a homeless man, and claimed racism is a problem for the LAPD. He was found to have been lying, and fired from his job.

Recently he made the news after killing Monica Quan & her fiance Kieth Lawrence, Monica was the daughter of the poice Captain who represented Dorner in the hearing. He would later kill another officer, Michael Crane.

Alot of media attention behind this, including Charlie Sheen reaching out to him trying to find a peaceful resolution. Some people are calling him a real-life Punisher(being a former cop, trained marksman, & naval reservist out for revenge), but my question is to you, Is he a man who was wronged for trying to uphold the law? or is he simply a disgruntled employee seeking revenge?

Oh because Charlie Sheen has legitimacy in the affairs of police crisis work. He's really qualified for that sort of thing. :adr:

Not sure how you can suggest that he is a hero at all at this point. At this point he is simply a disgraced former policeman and marine. There is no evidence to suggest otherwise at this point. Real life Punisher no he's a severely disturbed nutcase with a gun.

Now for the sake of argument we'll assume that he is completely cleared. Is he then a hero? NO! He not only murdered the guy for a crime beating a suspect, hardly worth murdering someone. ESPECIALLY MURDERING THE GUYS WIFE. He is a criminal a delusional nut bag.

That would make him a Real-Life Punisher by all definitions, so if thats the case what makes Punisher a hero?

Also, I brought up the point that people have been calling him a hero. Not that I claim him as one. You also might want to read the article, he killed the daughter of the Captain that represented him, her fiance, and a random officer on the street. No wives have been killed as of this moment.

@Mick, Charlie was mentioned in his online memoire, so he reached out thinking he could be one of the people capable of talking him down, since he is clearly a fan of Sheens. James Doohan(Scotty from original Star Trek) was not a psychiatrist, yet he helped people overcome suicidal tendencies, and is well documented in Trekkies. Sometimes, it just takes somebodies hero to talk sense into them.

if he were only killing the people who had been criminal themselves in his origianl accusations then you could possibly project him as a vigilanty.... but the 3 people he has killed, as far as we know, are innocent people. Even if the officer he killed was one of the officers he suspected of being racist, is that an offense punishable by death?? IMO the only time, ever, that killing another person is "heroic" is when it directly saves the life (or lives) of someone who's life is in danger.... This man is no Hero and I strongly question the mental stability of anyone who thinks otherwise

"The Punisher" crap doesn't fly in real life though. It's one thing to see it in movies and comic books, but people that actually take it upon themselves to "punish the wicked" or whoever they personally deem as such should probably be committed to a mental institute. Kind of sucks for the families of the victims seeking justice for what he did, because if he played the Punisher card in court, there's a good chance they'd let him off with an insanity plea.

How anyone could consider him a hero by any means after killing completely innocent people is completely beyond me, and if you're one of those people, then you should go check yourself in the nearest mental institution.

So sorry the guys daughter not his wife.

Since we're being Blue and comparing him to the punisher. The punisher punishes the guilty. He doesn't go about randomly killing everyone he comes across.

Definitely not a hero, he is a coward for doing what he has done. If he truly believed that there were issues within the department this isn't the way to go about sorting it all out. It is a pathetic excuse from him to try to make these murders about something else especially when he is killing people that have nothing to do with it. Hopefully when they eventually find him they just shoot him on sight, he doesn't deserve to spend the rest of his life in jail.

Noone is ever a hero when they gun down anyone in cold blood.

Vigilantism is fodder for comic books and movies, this isn't a fucking movie. This is life, and you can't do shit like that in real life.
