World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of WWE SmackDown Superstar Chavo Guerrero as of today, June 25, 2011. We wish Guerrero the best in all future endeavors.
Strange. Wonder if it's a legitimate release, or a release so they re-assign him backstage.

I never thought WWE would ever get rid of Chavo. I doubt they would've released him so they could move him into a backstage role, as they could've done that with Chavo under contract.

Yeah they could've but if I remember rightly, they "released" Finlay as a performer and "re-hired" him as an agent I believe? Wasn't there also a similar scenario with Jamie Noble and the whole retirement angle with Sheamus so he could he go backstage or to FCW whichever it was.

WWE announced this morning that the organization has come to terms on the release SmackDown Superstar Chavo Guerrero. The third generation grappler commented on his departure from the organization and revealed that he had requested to be let go due to unhappiness with his position.

Guerrero wrote, "Yes, it's true. My release is the big news I was talking about. But let's get something straight. I asked for my release. I was just tired of not being used correctly. Just cuz u can make other ppl look good, doesn't mean they should just have u lose to them. The same thing happened to Eddie. After being champ, they still had him working mid card status. Being a Guerrero, we've been taught since diapers to get the most out of ppl & matches. It's our gift, but also our curse. WWE has always used us to make other ppl look good.

"It all comes down to being happy. I was not happy in WWE anymore. I had a smile on my face last night though when I got my release though! :) now it's time for me to start being a Guerrero again, and start kicking ass again, be able to tell stories in the ring like u know we can. :) Win or lose I will never go back to the place WWE put me in. I will never go back to being under utilized and watching ppl who suck get bigger "pushes" than me!

Thank u to all of u who stuck by me and kept reminding me, I was better than that! :) stay tuned. Big things coming!! Now I will really be able to entertain u! :) like me or hate me, 1 thing I have always tried to do is entertain u and give u fans your $ worth. Even if my hands were tied most of the time. I love u all and can't wait for the future!! So happy. :)"

He continued, "Hey, u guys have me trending World wide!! Thanks. I should of quit a long time ago! I know it may sound like it, but I've got no hard feelings toward the WWE. I've just been unhappy there for a long time & if you have watched the show, u will no why. I made a lot of money, but I'm better than just cashing a paycheck. I wish no hard feelings toward the WWE and want to see them and all my friends there succeed! I love wrestling & want nothing but wrestling to get better & bigger. U fans deserve nothing but a great show and great stories& athleticism for staying so true to wrestling. It's in my blood & always will be. :)

"People asking what I'm gonna do now..I'm gonna stay home and be a Dad. :) going to watch my son's football practice now. :) Happy!"
Seems as though he went on a mini Matt Hardy tirade right there...

Hope is isn't alluding to him thinking he should have been a main eventer cause I got that vibe from this. His push in ECW was pretty much his ceiling. He of course is a really good wrestler no doubt but he just isn't somebody you give a big push to. That said they def could have used him better. Now thing is idk where he plans on going where he thinks he'll get the push he deserves cause he could go to TNA and initally get a storyline and everything like becoming the leader of Mexican America but I can easily see him being lost in the shuffle pretty fast.

I saw that, but totally agree with Chavo. Chavo is misused. Chavo tweeted about his release and he said he asked for it, and I don't blame him. TNA aka Impact Wrestling will use him better.

Exactly, lol. Matt got used fine at first and now he is in a worst spot than he was in WWE probably making less money at that.

Well, if they gave him a LAX style gimmick and had him cut rough, edgy promos I think he could've been a good heel.

Good, he's worthless.

but this in other words.

I guess it was inevitable, but this still caught me off guard. Chavo has been performing since i first started getting into wrestling in the late 90's and his match with Eddie at GAB 98 was one of the first PPV matches i ever saw. I'll miss Chavo.

I can't say I agree. I don't think it was a whole "I should have been a main event superstar", I think it was more that he knew he was capable of a lot more than how he was being used. As he said he simply wasn't happy being in the position he was. Sure he would have been getting a decent paycheck, but if you get to the point where you no longer love what you do, then what worth does that money have?

It is sad to see him leave as I didn't mind Chavo, but hopefully he has success elsewhere.
