It's not just the fans it's society's way of thinking. If a term is used as something for a while how would bringing it back and then expecting to force a change on society work. For example the word sick is used to describe something cool sometimes. You saying just because I go oh that's sick my 70 year old grandma is supposed to know that its a good thing. I think not. I can go on with this all day man.
So, in order for you to be "outraged", it has to be a main-eventer who hasn't undergone a gimmick change, has used the move for years AND isn't a remote reference to an old gimmick, is that right?Sly that is exactly what I'm saying it's no where near the same situation.
You're only proving my point; the same applies to society. Most of society is stupid, and they assume the obvious. It is the intelligent people that look for the hidden, more creative meanings behind things.
For instance, stupid people thought that Cena writing "JBL is poopy" on Bradshaw's limo was an example of Cena being a childish character. When in reality (or at least how more creative people perceive reality to be) Cena was merely working those who already dislike him, metaphorically saying "fuck you" to those who boo him in an attempt to be COOL~ and go against the traditional face/heel lines.
They should just give Cena a new finisher. Maybe one where he sits down with his opponent and explains that violence never solved anything, in a kid friendly manner of course.
It's a forum for discussing wrestling so why not do such?
