fwiw, I swear I saw on Reddit earlier a tweet from Cage trying to play down this rumour. Something along the lines of 'huh, I said this?' You could find it on his twitter I assume.

As would I, for the recordI'd be very critical if they're withholding his release for no good reason as that's a waste of AEWs money and Cage's time and would be stupid as fuck
He was basically saying something like " I told this to people?" Type of comment. Tbf he no sold his initial aew debut report as well iircfwiw, I swear I saw on Reddit earlier a tweet from Cage trying to play down this rumour. Something along the lines of 'huh, I said this?' His contract would’ve expired.
There you goI'd be very critical if they'rewithholding his releasepicking up his option for no good reason as that's a waste of AEWs money and Cage's time and would be stupid as fuck
His wrestling wasn’t good enoughThis has reminded me that I'm still baffled why a Cody option wasn't picked up lol I'm thinking Tony really didn't want him to come back more and more
In all seriousness it really is sounding more n more like a mutual breakup isn't itThis has reminded me that I'm still baffled why a Cody option wasn't picked up lol I'm thinking Tony really didn't want him to come back more and more
Hasn't his whole thing supposedly been that he wouldn't keep people under contract who didn't wanna be there? The main things that came from their split was supposedly that Cody wanted to be paid more and they had different visions I think? Maybe it just looks better in a PR sense for them to not to come to terms on a new deal / amicably? part ways as opposed to picking his up his option and then him maybe requesting to be released? This has reminded me that I'm still baffled why a Cody option wasn't picked up lol I'm thinking Tony really didn't want him to come back more and more
