Reminds me of when Mox asked for his release.

More from SRS.

"Bray Wyatt was released by WWE in what he was told was a "budget cut" on July 31.

Fightful was told that Johnny Ace made the call, and also sent a notification out to shocked WWE talent moments before the news broke online that Wyatt had been released.

The notion of a budget cut immediately surprised those within WWE, as Wyatt is known as being a great merch seller whenever he's actually active. One source indicated that Wyatt was a money maker for the company when that's the case.

In the hour following the release, we're told that Wyatt's name was actually brought up during another recent round of cuts. There have been multiple wrestlers that were discussed, but ended up being held on to. We've seen Observer's report that Wyatt was slated for a return in August, and we can confirm tentative creative plans were in place for him.

Fightful has been told that the creative team had been relayed that Wyatt was getting protective of his character after what were seen as poor creative decisions and ideas thrown his way, though many members of the team didn't speak to Wyatt directly and weren't sure if it was hearsay."

OK now I'm fucking angry. Mickie James is 100% right no matter what WWE shills will say (and again this is not an attack on Bliss, this was a WWE decision). I barely even watch anymore and this company still manages to irritate me.

I'm kinda with Sky in that he's probably out of the business for a while. He seems like somebody that's been through a fuck ton lately and probably wants to be left alone for a while before he does anything.

As an aside, I think people need to legitimately stop thinking every WWE release is going to go to AEW, otherwise, the roster becomes too fucking bloated and starts to turn into Impact circa 2009. They have their current homegrown stars, keep it that way, and just leave the roster alone rn.

There's rumor that Bray has been dealing with some mental health issues as well. If he needs time off, he needs to use it properly and recover.

I see what you mean when you said that everyone's assuming that he's AEW bound. The company doesn't need to sign anymore stars, because of what your said about it bloating, comparing it to Impact Wrestling 12 years ago. There are indeed other wrestling companies that would sign him in a heartbeat.

SRS and Dave have both reported that the reason he was given was budget cuts. It's likely had nothing to do with his mental health.

Plus Bray Wyatt is an exception. I do think they shouldn't sign anyone else from the recent releases minus the women and Buddy (even then that is at a push). But Bray like Bryan and Punk is a must get who will sell merch and draw people in

If wwe gonna give them goldmines like Bryan and Bray they'd be stupid to leave em there. can even sign him part time. This is another slam dunk that can't miss for big tone

More surprising release than Braun, but I still don’t care.

Was never really a fan of the guy

I don't see how the two are mutually exclusive. Him getting released on budget cuts could be just what pushes him to get away for a while? :draper2

Because WWE clearly didn't release him due to mental health. Plus when people he is close to like Braun post stuff that is teasing him teaming up, it's probably not him taking time off and it was purely WWE being WWE.
