You have a valid point there. It's been a good year for WWE, well the first 6 months. Ambrose/Rollins feud is the only good thing going on in WWE right now, I mean on the flagship show.

- While WWE has given us all of those things you mentioned, yeah, they were real good. But, what did they do with Bryan? His run for the title was damn good, and then when he finally got it, they didn't know what to do with him. So, they were like 'Hey, let's give him the shittiest opponent to defend WWE-WHC against, Kane.'
- On Brock Lesnar holding the major title, yeah I thought that one was actually gonna be good, since I've liked him maiming Cena at SummerSlam. But he's taken time off for the rest of the year now? That sucks. He's the face of the company. But okay, whatever...

In 2014, TNA has given us this so far (not in particular order):
Jeff Hardy turning into Willow
MVP being The Investor in TNA and then turning heel
Lockdown PPV, Team Roode vs Team MVP
A damn good Sacrifice PPV, the build up to it was great
Gunner/Storm feud
Mr. Anderson/Shaw feud
Bully Ray turning face
Dixie Carter getting put through a table by Bully Ray
TNA Tag Team match series, The Wolves vs Team 3D vs The Hardys
Lashley being utilized well and shown as the most dominant TNA WHC in history
Series of great X Division title matches, including Austin Aries, Manik, Sanada, Homicide, Samoa Joe, Low Ki
The current Storm's 'Revolution' storyline

Just repeating a list of storylines doesn't make them great...the ONLY part of that list that was worthwhile was Bully Rays face turn.

It wasn't that bad, considering their financial problems

How is financial problems even in the equation? They flew their roster to japan to have matches against wrestler's the majority of their audience hadn't even heard of for their biggest PPV of the year, when they could've stayed in America and booked a PPV based on feuds that had been built towards on Impact for much less money.

They spent more money going to Japan and making a PPV there that was completely redundant and served no purpose than building a PPV with their whole roster in America and saving money.

Well, yeah. But you can't say the show's sucked the entire year. That's just my opinion, though.

They couldn't just cancel BFG, it had to be held.

From what I've gathered, they do have a bit of trouble with finances... Hence the reason why they couldn't have their biggest names on the PPV.

I said they could've saved money by hosting a PPV in America with their whole roster instead of flying them over to Japan. Didn't realize it was that hard to understand.

The real reason some of the bigger stars didn't go over to Japan (with heavy spoilers from future Impact episodes):

Some of the titles changed hands during the recent tapings, and the Japanese audience knew of this through their wrestling magazines. If the old champions airing on TV were defending their title or holding them still, the Japanese audience wouldn't of accepted it (Japanese wrestling culture). But, if the new champions defended or held their championships the American audience would've been confused. So, they kept the current and former champions off air.

A similar situation happened in Wrestle-1 when Sanada defended the X-Division title against The Great Muta at one of their events when Sanada had lost the title at a taping, the audience didn't accept it.

I do understand what you're saying, man... Yes, they could've saved money by hosting it in the States, but that spoiler just explains why they didn't... That's why it kinda felt like a 'random' PPV.

Things would've been much easier if TNA shows were live, instead of being taped in advance. But it is what it is.

I don't understand how my spoilers indicated a reason why they should've hosted BFG in Japan and not America, when the majority of the spoiler indicated problems with future tapings and Japan.

Dude, just ask Dixie bloody Carter. lol

EDIT:
The spoiler is very obvious. The real problem is taping shows in advance, yes, just like the spoiler says... Hence why the new champions had to be off air, to avoid any confusion. By having BFG held in either Japan or America, it wouldn't have changed a thing, it would've been the same PPV. The only thing that'd be different, is that TNA would've saved money if they held it in America, that's all. They must've thought it'd be good for business to hold it over there.

Except those New York tapings filled with pointless pandering to the long dead corpse of ECW.

"We're so hip and cool, watch us pander to something that died in a bingo hall".

TNA seems to be doing the same stuff they do every year. One or more heel units pop up and aim to take over (MVP's group and Storm's unit). The X-division living in constant murkiness and the Knockouts showing glimmers of goodness before being cast aside.

In 2014 WWE has given you:
The Shield vs the Wyatts
Daniel Bryan becoming a made man
The end of the Streak
Shield vs Evolution
The end of the Shield
The rise of the three pillars for WWE to come (Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose)
The rise to prominence of the Wyatt Family
NXT arrival, Takeover 1 and Takeover 2
Brock Lesnar holding a major wrestling title in 2014

What has TNA done in 2014 that is memorable?

I might come off as a TNA hater, but I am seriously curious. What have they produced this year that is outside of the norm for them.

TNA was fantastic in 2012, but that time is long gone.
Storm has been great and wrestling in general does the same shit repeatedly.

Tna's biggest fan, way to go Aidsey. @seabs I made it bro!

I'd say in terms of contributions, WWE has clearly won despite the fans obviously pulling them to change the WM30 plans - after all, Shield, Wyatts, D-Bry, Lesnar, Cesaro all got some great moments and heck, even the Punk saga resulted in Heyman destroying the Chicago crowd and Shield vs Wyatts 2 (or was it 3?). But for a company with financial issues, the idiots running it and the Impact Zone, TNA had some good moments this year. Better crowds (anything that's not the Impact Zone), more stars (retaining some of Sting, AJ Styles, Bad Influence, Morgan, Sabin) and better creative, they would've done so much better. Heck, 2013 was ruined by poor creative for me; AJ Styles' big title win was ruined, Aces and Eights should've ended with 2 new stars (but Wes and Garrett kinda sucked)...

Magnus' title reign - should've beat AJ and Sting more convincingly, then got a few Paper Champion wins, cut a few more promos where he doesn't want to be remembered as the worst champion of all time, get a few good wins, drop the title to a built-up Eric Young or Samoa Joe and then go to Bram, where they become British Steel and after Bram goes around attacking everyone, Magnus shows some remorse but also admits that he wants to be the old winning Magnus again. Build it up to British Steel fighting for tag team gold, a good match at BFG, Bram attacking Magnus near the end of the year when he goes "soft" and Magnus turning full face again for the British 2015 tour.
X-Division - Should have a good division of Samoa Joe, Low Ki, Austin Aries, Chris Sabin, Tigre Uno, Manik, Sanada, Crazzy Steve, DJ Z, Kenny King and then have them really shine until Destination X, when Aries goes for Lashley. The entire X-Division crowds the ring and takes out MVP and King, supporting Aries.
Tag Team Division - The Wolves, Bad Influence, The Bro-Mans, The Hardys, Team 3D, Gunner and Shaw, Storm's Revolution, British Steel, The Menagerie, MVP & King along with a few matches with guys like Von Erich 3G (like Slammiversary), perhaps a tag team like they had with Morgan and Ryan back in 2013. I would've done The Wolves vs Bad Influence at BFG after The Wolves beat The Hardys and Team 3D - then Storm's Revolution cashes in and we get 2 more tag teams come in to slowly replace the older ones.

Since there wasn't a more recent LD, or a thread somewhat related to the topic I'll just post it here. I was thinking of when TNA would bring in MMA Fighters and it wasn't great, but at least they didn't bring in two-bit reality TV actors/actresses. So, thank you TNA, thank you.

Lol @ Stopspot

Dude says pretty pretty clearly TNA has been a better product than the WWE for the vast majority of 2014, and instantly without any provokation, there's attendance and rating numbers being brought in as an argument, oh Christ. Dat argument! It's like he is being (for the lack of better word) judged for saying TNA's been better and being seen as an idiot for thinking so. At least I get that feeling when reading this discussion about TNA 2014.

Anyway, about "what has TNA done in 2014 that is memorable?" question:

- Magnus as the first UK world heavyweight champion in the US in 100+ yrs
- A pretty damn memorable AJ Styles's last TNA match
- Angle vs. Roode cage match feud-ender
- MVP debuting and being revealed the new investor
- New talents getting pushed and being heavily featured: EC3, Rockstar Spud, The Wolves, (Great) Sanada, Bram and Havok
- TNA vs. Wrestle-1 One Night Only PPV in Tokyo
- Jeff Hardy as Willow
- The Great Muta in TNA, even wrestling three times
- TNA Original Eric Young winning the WHC and holding it for two months
- TNA Original James Storm turning heel on Gunner and getting a big push for the first time since 2012
- Legendary Von Erich Family wrestling at Slammiversary XII in their hometown in Dallas, TX
- Bobby Lashley winning the WHC and in general consensus, being the best booked TNA Champ ever
- Bobby Roode returning and turning into a #1 babyface
- Six sided ring returning
- For the first time ever in 12 yr history, TV tapings were held in New York City
- Bully Ray putting Dixie Carter through a table with the entire TNA roster looking from the ringside after a 4 month build to it
- Team 3D vs. The Hardys for the first time in 13 yrs
- Team 3D vs. The Hardys vs. The Wolves in an insane Best of Series for the Tag Titles, which provided MOTYCs only
- Speaking of MOTYCs, a couple of others: Wolves/Bromans/Team246, Aries/Sanada 1, Aries/Sanada 2, Lashley/Hardy, Wolves/Hardys, Lashley/Aries, Joe/Ki, Lashley/Roode.....
- Kurt Angle as the GM, again the general consensus is he's the best booked TNA GM ever
- Samoa Joe, Homicide and Low Ki returning to the X Division
- One-legged Chris Melendez debuting
- Season 2 of British Bootcamp
- Team 3D getting inducted into TNA HoF
- Bound For Glory being held in Tokyo

All in all, no matter if you liked these things happening or not, the fact is it's been a highly memorable year for TNA (some other memorable things I didn't mention), and even with TV deal crisis and other business troubles, they've been delivering an entertaining TV product for the big part of 2014. Business side and usual crap (like Tommy Dreamer) aside, it's been a pretty strong year for a TNA product.
