It's too bad Magnus didn't get a better push... for him to have that big 100+ years achievement is a bit of a joke. He should still be one of TNA's top stars - heck, I wanted to see Lashley vs Magnus back in NYC.

Magnus was completely de-pushed after Slammiversary (where he beat Willow one-on-one), it's still so unreal to see the man who entered 2014 the champion and held the World Title until mid-April to have fallen down this much in such a short time. I mean he lost to Matt fucking Hardy this past fucking Wed night on Impact. That pretty much sums it all up for the state of Magnus at the moment in TNA.

Heck, they should've at least tried to push Magnus and Bram and try to see if another face run could work out. I think they might have plans to fix Magnus for the TV tapings in England (unless he's boo'd like crazy just like he was this year) but I think they just broke him to the point that they lost another star. TNA booking...

Magnus is far away from being "ruined". Still very young and talented, and with the right will and booking, he can be brought back in the right track shortly, preferably as a babyface. Magnus is still the man.

I hope so. In fact, I just google'd him right now and found out that he's 26. More faith restored. But really, holy shit. He's only 26 and he's been TNA champ - Paige is only like what, 22? She's won the Divas Championship. Wow, British wrestlers are doing very well in WWE/TNA now (then you even have Sheamus, Barrett, Spud). Alright, he's probably going to be the main event guy for them if they fix up their creative. :D

EDIT: Also feel like pointing out TNA's other big booking mistake where they failed to capitalise on a great idea to build new stars in Aces & Eights. Should have been this:

Bully Ray
Devon (leaves after pinned by AJ Styles)
Mr. Anderson (leaves after disagreement with Bully Ray)
DOC (same as above)
Knux
Jay Bradley
Kenny King (bails on them when the Main Event Mafia arrive)
Garrett Bischoff
Wes Brisco

Pretty hard to ruin Magnus, his character has been built to go on awhile.. even with the losses/crap he's taken lately, Magnus is a strong suitor in TNA, I doubt they'd be able to bury him in such a short amt of time like of which that has been going on awhile.

So I watched the first hour or so of the PPV - will have to watch more of it soon.

My thoughts:
  • Crowd is excellent, making lots of noise and good chants. Too bad they couldn't get more people in.
  • Production value is poor. Should have spent a lot more on making the place look great, more like TNA's biggest PPV of the year.
  • Minoru Tanaka vs Manik was some good action. I'd rate it a B.
  • Why the hell do they have that screen there if all it shows is the BFG logo? Would rather they printed out a nice logo to put there. Or even use the set-up they used for the Kaisen: Outbreak/Global Impact Japan PPV.
  • Ryota Hama is massive, but moves well. Wow. EC3 was fantastic selling everything and the match was quite funny. He won as well, that's good. I enjoyed it, rating it a B.
  • MVP vs Sakamoto. MVP is over with the Japanese crowd which was a bit weird to see, because he's been such a great heel recently. Great match, Sakamoto did well and his screaming was funny. I think he's part of Desperado. Too bad they couldn't have them come out too, but hey. Rating it a B.
  • Samoa Joe vs Kaz Hayashi vs Low Ki. Crowd loved it and the "Joe is gonna kill you!" chant was just amazing.
  • Commentary is good, even if it sounds a bit low-quality.
  • They boo'd Hayashi. LOL.
  • Rating it an A. Probably will be better than everything else, unless the main event is really that good. Hopes would be pinned on Sanada and Storm to really perform to their best.

I'm bored so I felt like doing this: When a new TV deal is signed, Dixie needs to hire people with brains in the back and get this done:

Main Event: Bobby Roode (champion), Lashley, MVP, Austin Aries, Magnus, Gunner, James Storm, Eric Young, Jeff Hardy
Midcard: Mr. Anderson, Samuel Shaw, EC3, Tyrus, Bram, Robbie E, Jessie Godderz, Matt Hardy, Abyss
X-Division: Samoa Joe (champion), Low Ki, DJ Z, The Great Sanada, Kenny King, Tigre Uno, Manik, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Sonjay Dutt
Knockouts: Havok (champion), Taryn Terrell, Gail Kim, Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, Brittany, Madison Rayne, Brooke, new knockout
Tag Team: The Wolves (champions), Storm's Revolution, British Steel, The Bro-Mans, The Hardys, Bad Influence, Motor City Machine Guns
Announcers: Josh Mathews, Taz, Mike Tenay (PPVs and specials)

Also add in some British Bootcamp winner(s) and I'll be a very happy fan. Heck, bring back AJ and induct him into the TNA Hall of Fame and try and get him to work Slammiversary and Bound for Glory, if not more.
