Regardless of the way this matchup goes this round, my song choice is 100% driven by emotion. It's a song that I cherish dearly for a lovely friend of mine who lost her battle with depression 9 years ago. I always shed a tear when the song comes on as it reminds me of her beautiful smile, her kind heart, her loving spirit and the joy she brought to our lives.

i must be the only one that likes Purple Rain but doesn't think it's THAT good

It's no longer as epic as I thought it was in 1984, because I've heard so much other music. It's still great, but it's like Stairway to Heaven or Bohemian Rhapsody... However...I find the live versions of Hotel California and Freebird more impressive than I did when I originally saw/heard them.

hotel and freebird have great solos is the difference, me thinks. Id still rate Bohemian way above this. with you on Stairway I can't do it no mo lol
