Why use blood in matches if there's no significant build up showing that the wrestlers despise someone? It's like disliking someone in real life. You don't hate them enough to break their nose and smear blood all over their face, hit them with baseball bats but you hate them enough to hit them in the face and leave it like that.

You already said something like that.
I agree with you tbh, it would be better in big feuds or personal matters.

I personally think it lends realism to the show. You're playing to the illusion that guys are getting punhed in the mouth on a regular basis, but nobody bleeds? It's just unrealistic. It's really easy to draw blood on someone during even a minor scuffle, much less the knock down drag out fight they're pretending to have.

So if I get 5 punches to the forehead and 3 to the cheek, I would be bleeding?

True but it doesn't need to occur in every match.

What about all the kicks/knees to the head? Faces and backs of heads slammed to the mat? Just one of those is enough to bust somebody wide open irl.

If we're going for realism why run back on a irish whip? Wresting itself isn't made to be realistic it's made to entertainment.

Faces slammed on the mad = landing on your arms
They never bump on the back of their heads on purpouse, chin tucked on the chest.
Kicks barely connect and are dramatized with a clap on the leg.

I don't think blood really matters imo as long as the match is good and the crowds into it well thats all that matters.

As for long standing rivalries again if the storyline is good then the lack of blood shouldn't have any impact on the match.

Plus as someone stated earlier it can be a big risk remember Eddie and JBL at Judgement Day 04 where Eddie botched the cut and was a complete mess?

That was a sick one indeed.
Much blood, and so quick too!
