Going back to the original question, does the company risk Batista getting injured again? As in does the WWE risk it? I doubt they care aside from him missing commitments to their schedule. If it makes him lose a movie role and stick around longer because he lost some lucrative movie jobs, that works out for them. I don't know that they make it a priority to protect a wrestler's potential, second career.

I think the concern from the WWE's side is his potentially being in a position again where he really doesn't need them. The comeback was potentially good money. There was probably some personal fulfillment, he seemed to like the life of being a rassler and spoke of how he'd like to end his career as an in-ring performer. I'm not sure how they might feel about someone who could just walk off at any time if he felt promises weren't being kept. They could see it as someone taking his ball and going him, as they so infamously put it in the cases of Austin and Punk.

Still, from the WWE side of things, I have to think they're interested in doing business with the guy. Why not at least get some sort of program where he can work one of the main attractions for Wrestlemania? Unfortunately from the WWE's side of things, they're at the mercy of his film schedule. When that was happening with The Rock, you saw how they handled it.

Jesus, are you still holding a grudge because your boy didn't get the shiny belt? Worst Champ ever, outside of Arquette, was Khali. Awful. Bryan got injured, he didn't fail to "handle the ball." That's like saying HHH isn't cut out for the spotlight because he torn his quad, or Cena shouldn't be a Main event player because he blew out his knee in that Royal Rumble, or torn his pec off the bone.

The guy can wrestle. He connects with the fans. He got over. He had a fantastic storyline culminating in a fantastic Wrestlemania Moment. Deal with it, Jesus.

That said, I don't think you can ever play Batista as a face again. The crowd has got ahold of that "Boo-Tis-Ta" chant, and if it's one thing (WHAT?) that the WWE universe (WHAT?) can't do (What?).. is let go of a fucking chant they love (WHAAAT?). He seems to have picked up Xpac Heat somewhere along the way. But why bother? Dave is a much better heel. Dave doing Miz's new gimmick would have actually worked. But he doesn't need a gimmick. Just go out there and be the asshole monster he is. He's a heat magnet. Honestly, I'd love the spotlight to return. His heel work just before he quit a few years ago was brilliant. He'd be the perfect guy to make a guy look capable of taking on Brock until someone finally takes the title off of him. Feed him to Reigns leading up to Royal Rumble, let Reigns win the Rumble and go for Brock. Maybe Hunter somewhere in there, have him have "Take out" Evolution individually before taking on Brock at Mania.
He chose to miss his first fucking dates after winning the title at mania to honeymoon. Think about that fora second, your champion who supposedly wants this more than anything else said fuck the post raw buzz ima chill out and miss some time. That's never happened before Bryan.

He got hurt. That's indicative of not carrying the ball. Triple H got hurt after working his ass off in the most brutal matches there were as a champ and finished a match. Batsita got hurt, worked hurt some more after Eddie died, and went on. Cenas got hurt and rushed back. Bryan's raw was him missing time for personal fun, match with Kane, holding the belt up for a month so they had no champion on ppv to use. By definition, no championship reign was more epic fail than him. He had no payoff, in fact he had a negative payoff and was part of a deficit quarter as well. Bryan was a failure no way around that, similar to Diesel being a fail.

They fucked up having Batista put Bryan and the shield over. And you would lie out your ass if you can't admit he put them sum bitches over for no gain for the company. He tapped for them, got knocked out by them, and so on. Yet the company didn't see an upsurge, they didn't make money, didn't draw viewers, and Bryan is at home a failed experiment. It makes no sense to job him to reigns for the umpteenth time when he's took the losses multiple times. He needs to fucking destroy Bryan and reigns, then challenge Brock because that's where the actual money and big match is Brock vs Batista at WM or at next years summer slam if you believe the report of them wanting to make SummerSlam a stadium event.

Now that said he has two more big roles lined up, the avengers and GOTG 2. If you're Vince, why wouldn't you pitch a film release that goes to theaters starring him? The call made a hell of a profit, dead man down made a profit, Kane will be getting a theater release, and Rock is starting in a wwe film that will hit theaters. It seems silly to try not to make money on him on film as well

Could use that same logic for Liam Hemsworth 8D

He has Avengers 2 and the GoTG sequel, "lucked" out pretty good, so he'll be fine in the next couple of years.

Bryan also WAS a bust, he got injured when he was given the ball. He went all Greg Oden when he was called into the game. It's like people try forget that.

As of right now, there is no word on if the Guardians will be in Avengers 2. Since the Guardians are knee deep in the Thanos storyline, while the Avengers are lining up to take on Ultron(Avengers may not even deal with Thanos until Avngers 4 if rumours are to be believed about Avengers 3 being Civil War), there are still starbound earthlings that can be introduced like Richard Ryder/Sam Alexander/Frankie Raye(all of which join the Nova Corps seen in Guardians), or Carol Danvers, a USAF officer that can be introduced first in a Captain America movie, show her in the explosion that bonds Kree DNA(Ronan The Accuser's race) to her own in pretty much any Marvel movie, and have her join the Avengers at a later time. Marvel has also set-up copyrights to start a Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel/whatever her superhero alias is now movie. So he has the Guardians sequels(which I wouldn't be shocked at all when there are more Guardians movies than Avengers or Iron Man movies), and for an actor with so few roles under his belt, he should just be glad to be in a franchise.

But, Drax is probably the biggest key to the whole Guardians story, in the comics he became the holder of the Power Gem(the same one in the movie) and makes him Hulk levels of strong, actually allowing him a chance of fighting the Mad Titan Thanos. I will say though, James Gunn did a great job of covering up the bad casting choices, Drax was given a deadpan delivery, a little uncharacteristic of the character as a whole, but works when next to Rocket & Quill with their over the top antics as he & Gamora seemed to be what grounded the story, while Vin was relegated to Hodor-ing.

When has there ever been a report of Batista just expecting shit? There has never been one complaint about the guy from anyone who has worked with him since before the summer of 05 when Booker T took him down a peg. And all that was because he didn't want to be on the B-Show. Has been pretty honest about that as well.

And Batista/Brock would sell huge, like WWE would give a fuck about what the match produces when it happens, all they would care about is how many people would be interested and yeah, the guy who had a big part in a blockbuster movie is going to get alot of attention if he is booked to take on a former UFC champion who pops buyrates and is the biggest and baddest heel they got.....Shit you could even switch the roles and get the exact same amount of buzz.
Well firstly I'm pretty sure that he said in interviews that he came back to be the champion and the fact they had him win the Royal Rumble on his first night back and was seemingly on the way to winning the belt at Mania was no coincidence. That's not a dig at him either, he's a former multi-time champion so I'd expect nothing less from him really.

Again, I never said Brock/Batista wouldn't sell but as a fan it doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to me whether it does 1 million subscribers or 10 million subscribers, as a fan I have no desire to watch the two of them face off as I think it would be a blowfest not to mention them attempting to try and put Batista over as an almost equal in MMA terms to Brock.

Not disagreeing just pointing out how the article isn't exactly honest. Isn't much call for the over muscled hero in most films anymore so what exactly are all these films he's supposedly wanted for?
Regarding Batista’s status, Marvel Studios are currently restructuring his contract that will likely see him get more money due to the success of Guardians of the Galaxy. This will also lock Batista in for a number of other Marvel movies. Batista is slated for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 as well as the 3rd Avengers movie, where he will have a significant role. That movie will be a few years down the road as the 2nd Avengers movie isn’t scheduled to be released until May 2015.

Batista’s people in Hollywood reportedly do not want him involved in pro wrestling. They feel that he didn’t get what he was promised and feel that WWE dropped the ball by not letting him use some of his own ideas to get himself over. Batista has expressed some of these same frustrations but it’s said that he does want to return. The two sides are in talks but WWE will be coming second to his movie career.

Batista is said to have other movie offers coming in and he reportedly received a substantial deal to star in the Kickboxer remake with UFC star Georges St. Pierre.

All I think about when seeing Batista in interviews and imagining him with leading roles is how horrible on the mic he is when in the WWE ring. Maybe my view is skewed, but I just cant see him 'outside' the ring. It too a while for me to get used to the Rock as a leading guy. Even in Stone Colds cameos, I though he would drop a stunner at any moment...

He'll be great in the new Avengers, and is bound to rake in a fortune. Good luck to him I say...

Don't you think there may have been a deficit no matter who the champion was? Maybe WWE are just entering one of those spells where interest is going to drop off for awhile. Either way when someone only holds a title for a couple of months you can't really judge their reign. Diesel held it for a year so you can judge his.

Agree with Chris on Batista in TGOTG he was good, but really part of that was down to the casting and because it was refreshing to see a big muscley guy relax and make fun of himself. Whether he can have a sustained career in Hollywood, and become another Stallone, Arnie, or Willis time will tell. I actually don't think he does have charasma, just a good look, and when he is cast as a cocky heel is when he is best.

As for the attitude problems, I think in the past there may have been a bit of that, but to be fair during his lastest run he has pretty much played ball. I think his days as a headliner or world champion should be over, he had a good run, but it is time to let others have their runs.

Saying Batista has no charisma is like saying Rock just had catchphrases or Hogan or Warrior just had impressive physiques. If he didn't have Charisma, he would just be another random bodybuilder who didn't get over. How many bodybuilders have ever made the impact that Batista did?

No, because a big part of why The Rock got over was his promos, so he clearly had he had a lot more than just catch-phases. The biggest part of why Batista got over was because of his look, and because of WWF/E's skill in building monsters through good storytelling and through putting them against more skilled workers (HHH for example). Its the same as they did with Warrior in the 80s.

That's bullshit, charisma is still the main reason he got over.

cha·ris·ma
noun\kə-ˈriz-mə\
: a special charm or appeal that causes people to feel attracted and excited by someone.

Having a body isn't the only thing he has, he always showed personality of a quiet, cool motherfucker who would take your woman at a moments notice. He was a guy given the ball and he ran with with it.

Unlike some sort of vanilla midgets who were given the ball.

We are talking about the guy that did nothing as The Deacon, and only really started to get attention when he was paired with Flair & Hunter right? The guy that sat there looking like some jacked up nobody in an Arn Anderson role, and barely spoke 2 words? Sounds an awful lot like the same role Billy Gunn filled in D-X, and even he was over.

The same guy that got out talked in a feud with Taker? The same guy that needed people like Eddie & Rey around whenever he started deflating?

Sure sounds like all his popularity was his own doing.
