I really don't think they see Hogan as their peer. And if nothing else, he basically represents the form of wrestling that they wanted to kill off.

I loved WCW doing credits like a movie.

But they obviously got along well enough to where Hogan would bring them in to Impact when he was steering the ship.

Pretty much. Which is why I think the Wolfpac is more in line with their original vision. Long before the official split, Hall, Nash and Syxx form the trio version of the Wolfpac and more or less stay clear of Hogan in 1997.

Hell, even when WWE needed to turn Hogan Syxx shows up that same week to take Hogan;s place in the WWE version.

Hall and Nash tells some funny stories when they were cutting their famous jump cuts black and whites and Hogan kept cutting 80s promos and they had Leathers do the jump cuts and black and white by accident to save the promos because Hogan didn't get what the nWo was about.
