Wait and see approach for me, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't show up in WWE.

If that's true, and not Meltzer being Meltzer, that's a stroke of genius there by Tony Khan. Destroy the leverage that Cody would have had with WWE, which in turn destroys the leverage that Cody has with AEW, and now where's he gonna go?

Pure scumbag promoter play.....he may actually get this business. :WOW

What will happen will happen but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the WWE were throwing out red herrings to cast doubts on the whole thing.

At this point I don’t care. He either stays with AEW and they pass it off as some ruse bullshit, or he comes in for a splash in wwe and we see how that goes. There’s 10+ guys/gals in both companies I’m more invested in and care more about. I mean, after the initial ‘whoa he actually is here’ I doubt I care anymore about him than I do now

Situations like this, you have to strike while the iron is hot. If he really had been working without a contract since December like he said, he should’ve seen if he could get a spot in the Rumble. That probably would’ve been the biggest “Holy Shit” moment of the year.

But now it’s like ok if he does to WWE and doesn’t debut til after Mania, it’s like “Oh hey, it’s Cody.”

And if he goes back to AEW, it’s like “Oh hey, it’s Cody.”

My reaction to whatever he does is "fuck off Cody".

I get what you're saying but I still think it would be big if it were to happen. Strong debut angle and think the buzz is well and truly back.

I think it’ll be cool for a few weeks; then it’ll fade. If they weren’t gonna bring him in at Rumble, they should’ve brought him in for the McMahon/McAfee stuff.

Cody could get over as the cathartic babyface by getting his hands on the man that people feel did him wrong
