It's also being sponsored by pretty much everything. Even if it flops at the box office it'll probably make back its budget in merch

you think their is even a chance it flops?

I'll consider it a minor flop if it doesn't gross as much as silly Furious 7.

There is zero chance it flops at the box office.

Furious 7 is the 7th highest grossing movie ever. Ironic I guess  my bet is that it goes into 6th or 5th place.

Just did a quick check. Furious 7, as much as it's done, has done only a third of what the original Avengers did at the US box office. Now granted, audience numbers are changing, but Ultron should absolutely blitz Furious 7 in theory.

So obviously it's more popular overseas. And besides, it ain't done by a long shot. It'll still be in theaters when Avengers 2 is released. Obviously the competition will be gone at that point but what the fuck

Btw, that's worldwide. As far as US domestic gross goes, Furious 7 hasn't even cracked the top 50.

I could also toss out that if you adjust for inflation, Avatar doesn't crack the top 10. In fact, Gone with the Wind earned more than double what Avatar did, which means that basically everyone who could afford a movie ticket in 1939 went to see it. Everyone.

That's because that's the only thing people did in 1939
