The no good part timer was the one that made me realize that the Attitude Era wasn’t as great as we think it was; at least from a wrestling perspective
I’ve gone back a rewatched the entire year of 1999 for myself. I still enjoy it.

Now 1997-1998 was rough.

That too, 1998 and 1999 wrestling was not good unless you were a main eventer in the WWF. In my opinion.

The top 6 workers in 1999 were Austin, Rock, Foley, Trips, X-Pac, and Taker.

Three years earlier you had:

Bret, Shawn, Austin, Vader, Owen, and Mero

Practically anything that wasn't the main event of a PPV was usually gonna suck, match quality-wise, through a modern wrestling lens. I still find the shit entertaining though.

Yeah. I’m fine with that. The shows imo are for telling stories. Then you have the PPV with 20-minute matches.

and yeah I can't stand mostly talking with a bit of wrestling, that's where some of us will differ. 60+% of talking is no bueno for me, if I wanted that i'd watch tv show. I also will always push back that matches are not stories.

Yeah it’s entertaining as fuck. Will never deny that. But the actual wrestling doesn’t hold up.

But that was Russo’s ideology. The car crash style

and that's why I am forever grateful for AEW, I don't have to sit through 20 minute soliloquies to watch a mid 5 minute match :p

I won’t lie. I’ve tried to watch full attitude era shows in the last couple years. I couldn’t get through it. Like Jeff, I can watch moments and clips and highlights or whatever. But a full show just ain’t for me. At the time, I enjoyed it. But my taste has changed since then. But definitely no hate to those who enjoy it still, if you like it you like it and I respect it

That 2004 era right before Cena and Batista were stars and every Raw opened up with a 30 minute Evolution promo

I am a fan of all varieties of wrestling, as long as it's compelling in some way. When I watch Atittude Era WWE or 2000s TNA, I really enjoy how the shows feel like... well, a TV show. The stories dominate and progress each week. Most of the time it's quite cheesy, but that's the nature of most wrestling for me anyways.
