Although I will say that it's almost certain that mafia can still kill every night as it is common for a designated killer to be assigned, and if they die, either a second choice will take over, or anyone can nominate themselves. Mafia doesn't just lose half their kills. It's not how it's ever worked.

The fact that people are making a huge issue over it, almost as if it's a distraction, is causing me concern

It certainly feel like the sort of silly conversation a maf would get into - particularly on the side of "maf loses half its kills now?" guys who would be playing dumb to make themselves look town.

Specifying night killers has to do with stuff like tracker reports. It stops mafia from switching their killer at their will if their initial killer garners suspicion.

So if Maf A is under heavy suspicion, they cannot fob off the maf kill to Maf B or Maf C so that they don't get tracked visiting the victim.

At work rn and I'd probably have to do a full reread and dissect those wagons. The one thing I noticed is that unless OMB left out big parts of those posts when he quoted them in his vote count, the majority of votes on Brutus came without any further explanation or comment so I think it's very likely that 1 or 2 scum are hiding within those votes.

1) Only one dying N1 was brad due to Haza's shot. Brad flips scum.
2) Brutus flipped town. And role matches him surviving N1 if he was shot at.

It's strange but with no apparent scum kill it really looks like scum shot at Brutus. Which is just completely weird, who the hell shoots Brutus n1 if they know he's town?

Brutus was unlikely to be doc'd/watched in the eyes of mafia, so he'd be a pretty easy kill.
