There is concern within the WWE that Alberto Del Rio, who is still recovering from a groin tear and surgery, suffered a concussion last week. There has been discussion that he may need to be pulled from the No Way Out PPV, but it hasn't been confirmed that he was officially pulled yet. Del Rio is scheduled to face Sheamus for the World title at the event.

Several RAW stars are going to be booked for Smackdown going forward due to the thin talent roster. The wrestlers are worried that the hectic schedule will cause fatigue and injury. There is also concern about how hard John Cena and CM Punk are working, since on top of the wrestling, they are also doing media and appearances.

Concussions are serious business, so its best not to fool around with this at all. I hope its not the case and he can have the match, but I won't begrudge WWE for stepping in and changing things up if need be. It's not like people were going to be buying No Way Out for Sheamus/Del Rio anyhow.

WWE is resembling a hospital ward more and more every day. These 3 hour Raw's are going to be brutal.

A WWE source told sports blog Corey Unfiltered (coryradford.blog.com) Friday that Alberto Del Rio suffered a "serious concussion" at last Tuesday's SmackDown taping in Columbia, South Carolina. During a skirmish, Sheamus slammed Del Rio's head against the metal WWE logo, leading to his concussion. Kane replaced Del Rio as Sheamus' Steel Cage Match opponent in the post-taping bout and at Saturday's SmackDown live event in Salisbury, Maryland.

Del Rio's injury puts his World Heavyweight Championship Match against Sheamus at No Way Out on June 17 in jeopardy since WWE officials believe he will not receive medical clearance in time for the pay-per-view event. Contingency plans are being discussed in case Del Rio is unable to compete, including removing Kane from the WWE Championship Match against CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Other plans broached include a Battle Royal or a Beat the Clock Challenge to take place at this Tuesday's SmackDown taping in Manchester, New Hampshire

Meanwhile, WWE heads Vince McMahon and Triple H are becoming increasingly worried that Del Rio cannot be relied on due to injury concerns. He is being compared to former WWE star Mr. Kennedy (now known as Mr. Anderson in TNA Wrestling), whose reputation for being injury prone partially led to his release from the organization in 2009.

lol at injury prone.

He's taken time off ONCE during his WWE tenure, and you can hardly call someone injury prone when another guy slammed his head against staging causing a concussion and when he's working injured because the roster is so brutally thin. Sorry but this is classic dirt sheet bullshit.

Who can take his place? The only other people involved with Sheamus right now are Ricardo and Ziggler. Ricardo hasn't had a proper match yet so there's no chance of him and Ziggler has lost to Sheamus twice in what a week? There would be no point in him being fed to him again and it would just hurt him instead of pushing him.

It's been confirmed....

Alberto Del Rio has been taken out of the World Title match at No Way Out. As previously reported, Del Rio suffered a concussion at last week's Smackdown tapings, which has led to him being pulled.

WWE will name a new #1 contender tonight on Raw to determine who faces Sheamus at the PPV.
