Dane Swan wins the brownlow at a whopping 34 votes. Mitchell came 2nd and was ineligible to win.

Was a bit worried there with Mitchell, Swan should have won last year. Glad he has won it, fantastic player.

During that Brownlow count I was rooting for Priddis and Dal Santo as the two of them surprised throughout, polling way more votes than predicted. Priddis didn't end up finishing in the top 10, but Dal Santo managed to continue polling well and finished an impressive 3rd.

I realised with 2 rounds to go that Swanny had it won no matter what. He was ahead of Mitchell by like 2 votes and ahead of Dal Santo by 6, so no matter what Swanny had himself a Brownlow. It was just a matter of if it was a tie for first or if he legit got the most votes. Quite thankful Mitchell didn't finish 1st because that would've majorly sucked.

The 2 favourites were Judd and Goodes, but personally I didn't think either of them would win. I honestly thought the likes of Pendlebury, Thomas and Cloke would take votes from Swanny, leaving guys like Boyd and Ablett to fight it out, but Swanny polled record numbers. Well done to him on a great season, but I hope Geelong smash the Pies. I can't fucking stand Collingwood, especially after last week when they stole the win.

Very nicely done ants!

I always enjoy it when the clear favourite doesn't win. It happens almost every year where someone is pushed in the media as favourite yet fails to win it, it was Swan last year and this year it was Judd. Happy for Swan that he won since he has had a couple of great seasons.

For the GF I still want Geelong to win but it is going to be a tough game. At least Razor Ray didn't make the GF umpiring team otherwise there would have been some issues. Can't wait until Saturday.

Geelong is paraded with all the pre-celebrations and such.

I'm tipping Geelong to win after deciding all week who to pick, it's expected to be rainy and muddy. It should be a close contest, if Collingwood wins. I'll be happy, both teams have performed at the best and the best team on the day deserves the win.

Here's a poster from the Geelong Advertiser, I really like the poster.

Premiership: Collingwood
Margin: 27 points
Norm Smith Medal: Travis Cloke
First Goal: Steele Sidebottom

That just about sums up my feelings about the match. Travis Cloke has threatened to tear games a new one all season, and I think on the biggest stage of them all, he will get the job done, putting all the goal kicking yips behind him and snagging 5 in a match winning performance. I see the midfields probably breaking even, but Collingwood's defence blanketing Geelong's forwards. Jolly/Ottens will be a ruck dual for the ages. Steve Johnson to get subbed off at half time because he can't run.

Personally I want Geelong to win so bad because I fucking hate Collingwood, but unfortunately I think Collingwood will win by a few goals. I tend to think to go against favourites, but my pick to win the Norm Smith medal would have to be Scott Pendlebury. If he doesn't, it'd likely go to either Dane Swan, Heath Shaw, Joel Selwood or Matthew Scarlett.

Geelong won the AFL Premiership 2011.

Played fantastic with Bartel taking the Norm Smith.

Hugely surprised by Hawkins, what a fucking gun. If he plays next season like he did today, he'll be Coleman medallist easily.

Awesome game to watch and I was very happy with the result. Geelong looked the better team all day even when they were three goals down they looked great. Excellent performance and they are such a good team. Bartel was great and definitely deserved the Norm Smith medal. Hawkins looked great especially after Pods went down.

Yeh was a good game to watch until three quarter time. I was hoping when it was that close it would just stay that way until the siren but no good. Geelong deserved their victory, and with Ling retiring as of today, it will be another injection of young players for them next year.

Always good seeing players finishing on top. Unselfish move by Ling who was a fantastic player for the club and helped lead them through this excellent period on top. Geelong will do it again where they seamlessly cover his absence next year. Will be interesting to see who the next tagger is because he has a lot to live up to.

Trade week starts next week and I expect a fair few deals to go through as quite a few players have already announced that they want to leave. Gunston, Maric, Armstrong, Clark and Brad Ebert all want to leave their clubs so hopefully deals can be agreed to.

Trade week is over and the big news is Mitch Clark now plays for Melbourne. He wanted out of Brisbane because he was homesick and wanted to be with his sick grandma. Brisbane and Fremantle couldn't work out a deal, Melbourne gave a huge offer, Clark realised that he wasn't going to make it to Perth and didn't want to risk the Pre Season Draft so he took the huge Melbourne offer. Great pick up by Melbourne, they needed a key forward and Clark can play FF and back-up ruckman to Jamar.
