I do get that idea. I think it is balance. Like to use WWE for an example: GUNTHER feels special which long reign but other ones like Belair (who is great) and Austin Theory (I'll be nice) didn't feel special with longer reigns

But good booking should have variety in length too, it's not realistic that ever reign is long

I’ve accepted Bryan isn’t getting one, but I also think his case is different. Both he and Tony know he’s retiring soon. It wouldn’t be as beneficial for him to get a run over the growing list of people that could use it. If Bryan was open to a contract renewal? I think him having one eventually would be a no-brainer.

I'm not saying all reigns should be long, I just think it says more for the title when most of the champions are dominant and beat back challenges for months, instead of every couple months, the champion is getting dethroned. I agree a balance is fine though.

I said this from jump, too. When Jay interrupted him out of nowhere. Jay was supposed be get a Punk match at some point and I’m going to assume WrestleDream, while MJF and Punk we’re definitely gonna have a unification. So they spotted the two programs together. Cole also getting hurt meant MJF needed a new program. Figured this Devil stuff was leading to something, though.

I’d say so. I think most fans that I saw that were fans of either were more so pumped for the match than necessarily overly hyped over an outcome. For sure.

Tbf I am less against it than I was before. Joe has performed great in feuds with Darby and Punk
