Chapter Eleven - Part Ten
Paul London would claim a surprising win of Cody Rhodes in the week after Fyter Fest, which would result in Tetsuya Naito being seemingly impressed by London’s performance. Paul would make it clear that if Tetsuya was impressed with his skills in the ring then rather than talk about it perhaps it would actually be better if they actually went 'mano a mano' in the ring. The pair would end up being booked in a tag match, with Naito teaming up with The Foundation’s Jay Lethal to claim a victory over Paul London and Brodie Lee. After the match, Naito would confirm that he would indeed face London at Fight For The Fallen. London would prove to be a testing opponent, but it would be Naito who would once again claim a solid singles victory and continue to remind people why he was one of the most valued signings in AEW’s short history.
Tetsuya Naito and Tyler Black would have a heated moment backstage, with Naito making it clear that he respected a man who stayed true to his values and was able to fight battles by themselves when it was required - so would make it clear that in terms of principles he had no problem in regards to the politics that lead to Black and Rush battling each other at Fight For The Fallen in an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch. However, Naito would make it clear that Black had hospitalized Rush - a man who he considered a friend and he intended on fighting Black at All Out in the hope of getting some personal retribution. The following week Naito would team up with KENTA in a clashing over two rivalries with the pair claiming a victory over Bullet Club members Cody and Tyler Black.
Tyler Black would cut a very telling promo in which he would make it clear that claiming a victory over Naito was imperative for his career in AEW - as he had already put in all the hard work that was required for people to realize that the Bullet Club was truly a force to reckon with. However, Black would make the point that at times a man had to be selfish and that claiming a win over Naito would help remind management that he had his own goals and aspirations and as of late had been shy of title opportunities and hoped this situation would be rectified in the near future.
