Think my favourite match on the card is Alpha & Omega vs Iron Blood. Bout to slap.

I like James Storm vs Nak too, very unique.

The card is a complete madness - only really one throwaway match

Chapter Ten Finale

BUY IN
RsUHfb1.jpg

[The first match of the evening would be a contest with no background behind it, but it would prove to be a fairly exciting match to open proceedings with both men featuring in a fast paced contest with London claiming the win with a 450 Splash off the turnbuckle. - 4.5 Star]

1heGDbi.jpg

[The Six Pack Challenge had no real purpose other than to showcase some of the best talent in AEW, and two women who would really shine would be the two that had yet to lose in AEW his signing for the company - Venom Banks & Utami Hayashishita. Venom and Utami would both massively impress and continue to show why they were seen as two of the very best not directly involved in the title picture - with Venom claiming the win after managing to roll over Kamille keeping her unbeaten streak intact. - 4.5 Star]

xvwAV53.jpg

[Taking on PCO was a very important test for Kidd, with his biggest win to date being his triple threat victory over WALTER & Batista - however, as of late PCO had been a more permanent fixture at the top of the card with his feud with Omega having pushed the ‘French Canadian Frankenstein’ to a position where many consider him as a main eventer. Kidd though would impress from the very start, and remind everyone just exactly why he had been recruited to The Elite. PCO wouldn’t give Kidd an easy time, but it would be Gabriel who would have his hands raised at the end of the contest after nailing him with the Butterfly Suplex to claim his biggest scalp of his career. - 4.25 Star]

Opbaj7o.jpg

[Contra Unit were coming into this contest - with the aim of claiming a win over Mexcellence in order to earn the right to have a match with the Foundation later down the line. The match would prove to be a real challenge with Vikingo, Rey Horus and Fenix all being massively luchadores which would end up helping create a real interest contest. Josef Samael would step up from his normal role as a manager, and add an extra element for Contra - with the winning coming when Cobb would catch Horus in mid-air and hit him with the Tour of the Islands to claim the victory and end the ‘Buy In’ in impressive style. - 4.5 Star]

MAIN SHOW
QlbELb9.jpg

[The match was a battle between new and old, hot prospect and legend, Contra Unit versus Elite and the match would prove to be a great way to officially kick off Double or Nothing with both WALTER and Dave Batista going all out in trying to prove themselves the better man and there would be a certain level anger present between both men that would raise the tensions and mood in the ring into one of a much more explosive nature. Both men would slap the crap out of each and throw each other around the ring with no regard for the other’s safety. The match would turn in Dave’s favor when the ‘Living Legend’ would subdue the Austrian with the Batista Bomb, before leaning over his opponent and beginning to pound him repeatedly with closed fist shots square in WALTER’s nose busting him wide open and picking up a win not just for him, but also for The Elite. The match was so enjoyable, and would earn five star ratings - with many wrestling fans making the statement that despite the loss WALTER had proven he was capable of competing at a much higher level than anyone had realized. -
5.0 Star]

M1Rn7rM.jpg

[The match between The Iconic Duo and Tench would noticeably be the worst match of the entire evening - with Tenchu showing signs of a pairing that had quite yet gelled as a team, which would make them easy pickings for Jessie and Cassie would wrap up the match fairly quickly to retains the belt. - 2.75 Star]

LLAJMcP.jpg

[The contest between The Irons Horns and Bullet Club would prove to be far more enjoyable than anyone had been expecting, with the Iron Horns really stepping up to the plate and really want to prove not just to themselves, but to their leader Rush that they were capable of competing with one of the most dangerous units in wrestling in the modern era as nZo, CaZXL, Butcher and Blade would all give a great account of themselves and make a strong case as to why no one should ever discount them going forward. However, the Elite’s line up was incredibly stacked line up with the trio of EL and the Young Bucks having been the World Tag Team Champions three times collectively and with the addition of Tyler Black and Cody Rhodes eventually the Horns would be forced into a corner with nZo being laid out by a SuperKick Party that would bring an end to a truly excellent contest. As the fans would continue to chant “We Want More” after the bell - with it being clear that things were far from finished between both factions. - 5.25 Star]

tAqGcIz.jpg

[Both women had been battling for a good while between factions, but the desire to retain/reclaim the ‘Staircase to Heaven’ contract he turned any faction's interests for fighting solely into selfish reasons of each woman's own personal betterment. With there being no limitations in regards to where they could battle, it wouldn’t take long before both women would depart the confines of the ring and begin battling between each other amongst the crowd (which in itself would be greeted warmly by those in attendance). The two women would beat the crap out of each other, and use various items scattered around the arena to inflict as much damage as possible to each other. The two women would find themselves at the top of a railing, with a drop below with both Angelina and Hikaru trying to push the other off the edge. Shida would cleverly counter Love and nail her with the Falcon Arrow onto a row of steel chairs that the fans had been sitting on before hooking Angelina over to claim the victory and bring an end to her longstanding feud with The Allure’s leader. - 4.75 Star]

NWJTaKL.jpg

[Contra Unit had earned the right to face The Foundation at a future date, but the rivalry between Pentagon, Jr. and Jay Lethal continue to be one of the more exciting feuds that had been featured on the middle of the card as of late - so with both men only able to claim a win via submission the series of match between both men, had a completely different feel to it with neither man able to go about this match using the same methodology as they had previously. Lethal would employ some strong technical wrestling with it being clear that he had been training with his fellow Foundation member Gresham. Penta though, would be keen to bring the violence to the match and would use his highspeed nature to soften Lethal up as much as he could. Pentagon would change the direction of the match though, when he would nail Jay with the Mexican Destroyer before springboarding off the ropes and crushing his opponent’s left arm with two sharp knees taking the full impact of the drop. Pentagon, Jr. would then lock Lethal into The Sacrifice and with the sheer force behind the submission it would look as if it had almost broken Lethal’s arm as Jay wound start tapping out within a number of seconds. - 4.75 Star]

F21fcAc.jpg

[The Warehouse Deathmatch would be a cinematic match, which would be heavily stylised - with dramatic lighting and fast edits to really create a horror movie feel to the contest. Both women would be involved in violent spots, including the uses of conveyor belts and a garbage disposal chute to great an exciting contest that would leave both women donned crimson masks of their own blood with no love lost between two women who had once been good friends under the mentorship of Bea Priestley. The match would come to a conclusion with both women fighting each other in the rafters, with Britt nailing Hayter with a Running Knee Strike that would cause Hayter to fall from a great height and land on a stack of boxes below that would bring an end to the contest. - 4.75 Star]

CKNcpL2.jpg

[5&6 had become the hottest new arrival in the tag division, and with Jericho as their manager and talking piece they had really been able to push themselves forward and earn themselves a shot at the Briscoes and the Openweight Tag Team Championships. “5” Alan Angels and Sixpentico would show just exactly why they had been recruited into the Dark Order and would push the Briscoe Brothers to their absolute limit - although Mark and Jay would end up showing their seniority and decades of experience to capture the victory and remain in control of the title belts. - 4.25 Star]

obtVqE5.jpg

[Since ‘Hangman’ had become the champion - the level of interest and quality of wrestling surrounding the belt resulted in Page being pushed to his limit by Gresham, Gotch and Fatu with a match involving multiple opponents vying for just one title always meaning that at no point was any one man really in control of their destiny. At one point in the match though, it became clear that Jacob Fatu was more interested in taking Simon Gotch out than actually winning the match - which most likely stemmed from the pair's previous relationship in the indies. This fight would spill out of the ring, allowing Page and Gresham to focus on each other in the middle of the ring. Gresham would almost get Page to tap out a few times, but it would be ‘Hangman’ who would retain the belt after nailing Gresham with the Buckshot Lariat to retain the belt. - 4.5 Star]

9T8oir0.jpg

[Win or lose it wasn’t clear if this was the final night for the Golden Girls, but the way Thunder led Gibbs and Statlander towards the ring it was clear that this was a night that no one was going to forget. With no need for tagging their partners in and out of the ring and with a plethora of weapons to play with, it was no surprise that the match would end up getting violent pretty damn quickly. And even though Kylie Rae was as emotionally invested in the contest as anyone else, it was clear that Kylie had signed up for violence when she would reveal a cheese grated from underneath the ring and proceed to cut the crap out of Sadie Gibbs back which would be just one of many vile and gruesome moments that would take place.

It would become apparent Thunder Rosa was the keystone in The Golden Girls setup, and so it wasn’t surprised when Deeb and Purrazzo would make it clear that the best way to get the win would be to remove Rosa from contention and would achieve this with Deeb sending Rosa off the turnbuckle and through a double stack of tables below - only for Deonna to leap off the ring apron and slam down on the already hurting Rosa with a 360 flip leg drop. With a numbers advantage, the Angel Squad would control the match and the match would end with Rae nailing Gibbs with the Kylie Kick to bring the match to a conclusion. - 4.5 Star]

lVwLwje.jpg

[This match was the most anticipated of the night and with two former AEW World Champions involved in the mix, as well as two of the hottest up and comers it was not surprising that the fans in attendance would be on the edge of their seats as they would watch on in anticipation as all four men would be locked up within the confines of the Steel Cage. Both teams would push each other to new found limits, with the match being the best of the night and acting as a showcase why any one of these four men could be (or become again) the AEW World Champion in the not so distant future. The extra element of the steel cage would make the match that much more dangerous for those locked within the four sides of steel.

Kenny and PAC would be involved in a nasty spot, with the pair battling on the top of the cage that would see Omega nail PAC with the One-Winged Angel that would see the pair crashing down onto the first aid table below wiping each other out for the rest of the contest. This would leave Ospreay and Allin to battle amongst each other to claim the belt, Will would look to end that match via the OsCutter only for Allin to counter the move and hit Ospreay with an elevated neckbreaker instead. Darby would then smile like a maniac as he would climb onto the turnbuckle and leap off crashing down on Will with the Coffin Drop to end the contest and see Iron Blood retain the titles. - 6.0 Star]

IBfT9lv.jpg

[One thing was certain going into this match and that there were no alliances going into the match, and absolutely no signs of any deals with all three women intent on climbing up the ladder and pulling down the AEW Women’s World Championship. KAIRI and Martinez would have their chance to climb up the ladder, but it almost as if both women held more anger and frustration towards each other than for Priestley - which would really play to Bea’s benefit, as she would actually take a step back at times and allowing her two challengers to soften each other whilst she watching on conserving her energy and increasing her odds of retaining the belt.

The outcome of the match would end up being determined by one of these interactions between KAIRI and Mercedes. Both sets of challengers would have climbed up to the top of the ladder, Martinez would be beating the crap of out the ‘Pirate Princess’ with repeated forearm shots to the chin, only for KAIRI to fight back and end up launching herself and Martinez off the ladder and down onto the floor below with a Diving Cutter. As KAIRI would push herself up to her feet, Priestley would charge forward and snap into her foe with a Running Punt Kick, before finishing her off with a Curb Stomp. Priestley would then have free reign to climb up the ladder and pull down the belt to successfully retain her title belt. - 5.0 Star

With Priestley still at the top of the ladder, Hikaru Shida would run out from the back with the ‘Staircase to Heaven’ briefcase in her hand and a referee in a tow, as she would make it clear that she intended on cashing in for her shot at the championship. The referee would do his best to clear the ring of its ladder, before calling for the bell - with Priestley being forced to defend the belt for the second time that night. The match wouldn’t last thirty seconds, as Britt Baker and Starlight Kid would emerge from the back holding steel pipes and proceed to act Shida with brutal force that would leave the referee no choice, but to end the match via DQ - meaning that although Shida had won the match, Priestley had kept her title belt thanks to assistance from her Oedo Tai minions.]

G569qN7.jpg

[James Storm would make his debut in the ring and it was clear that the fans were incredibly excited to have a man that had been lighting up the NWA and no doubt been their top guy, now going one-on-one with the very best that AEW had to offer - and there was no doubt that Storm would prove to be more than a worthy challenger for Nakamura. However, as impressive as Storm was there was no point in the match that Nakamura had looked likely to lose the belt, which would cause the contest to suffer - with Shinsuke ending the match by laying out Storm with Kinshasa to end the contest and retain the AEW World Champion. After the match, Shinsuke would take a mike and just utter one word of ‘Eternal’ before bowing and enjoying the moment as Double or Nothing would come to a close. - 4.0 Star]

After the loss to Shinsuke Nakamura, James Storm would feature in a heated promo where he would make it clear he had clearly not treated Nakamura with the respect that was needed to beat a man of his level, but the next time he challenged for the AEW World Championship he would achieve his dream of become ‘the face of AEW’. Storm would find himself being interrupted by Billy Gunn, with Billy remarking that Storm would perhaps be better suited trying to help the future of the business rather than being so self absorbed and only thinking of his own career especially when he was in the later stages of his career. Storm would make it clear that he was nowhere near hanging up his boots, but the same couldn’t be said about Gunn.

A week later Billy Gunn would introduce his younger son Colten as the newest member of AEW and make it clear that Colten and Austin would carry on the family legacy and the name when eventually he was forced to retire but that he was confident that his legacy would be in the safe hands of his children. Storm would interrupt though, and suggest that perhaps it would be better if Billy retired sooner rather than later - which would result in a scuffle between both men.

The following week in a heated segment backstage with Jerry Lynn, both men would sign a contract for an ‘I Quit’ match at Fyter Fest. If Billy lost he would retire from pro wrestling, whilst if Storm left his contract with AEW would be terminated immediately. The match itself would be an interesting contest, and on multiple occasions Billy would have to prevent Colten and Austin from getting involved and would make it clear to his children he had to do this alone. Ultimately, it was Billy who would be forced to say ‘I Quit’ - with his career officially coming to a close at the hands of ‘The Cowboy’ James Storm at Fyter Fest. Gunn afterwards would make it clear though, that he did intend to take a few weeks off to himself, but to return to the manager for both his sons for the foreseeable future.

It had been no secret that Tony Khan and a team of his negotiators had been trying their best to get Tetsuya Naito to sign with AEW and manage to get past NJPW management in order to do so. On the episode of Dynamite following Double or Nothing - Tetsuya would make his AEW debut and talk briefly about his goals which would include becoming a future World Champion and claiming a victory over Shinsuke Nakamura, which at the current moment in time was the exact same thing. Before he could say anything else, Naito would be interrupted by a member of the roster who had been on AEW programming for months with Brodie Lee emerging from the back and two men having an intense stare down in the middle of the ring. The following week on Rampage, the two men would feature in a heated backstage confrontation in which Brodie Lee would challenge Naito to face him next week on Dynamite in tag team action, which Tetsuya would openly accept the challenge and making it clear that he knew just the man to pair up with next week.

Naito would end up coming out to the ring with Josh Barnett, whilst Brodie Lee would have acquired the services of Will Hobbs. The match would be an exciting affair, with Naito making his competitive debut and claiming a victory by hitting Hobbs with Destino to claim the victory. After the bell, Brodie would make it clear a tag team victory meant nothing and that at Fyter Fest he intended on teaching Naito a lesson in respect. At the special event both men would feature in a tough contest, but Naito would show exactly why his contract had been sought after for so many months and would claim his first singles victory in AEW by defeating Brodie at Fyter Fest. After the contest, Naito would grab a microphone and cut a short promo making it clear that without being rude Brodie Lee was a relative nobody - and that his next foe would be someone that would help him validate him as a serious player in AEW.

With Shinsuke having successfully defended the belt against the debuting James Storm at Double or Nothing, the AEW World Champion would cut a promo talking about how he was pleased that he had taken the risks in jumping ships and becoming a member of AEW all of those months ago and as the face of the company he was the main event and the reason why people tuned in to watch the product every week. Before anything else could be said, Omega would interrupt the promo by blindsiding Nakamura with a brutal shoulder tackle before kicking the crap out of him on the floor. The beating would only be stopped by backstage security grabbing hold of Kenny and restraining him, as Nakamura would be attended to by medical staff with it clear that the champion was worse for wear and still hadn’t been at 100% following Double or Nothing.

The following week Nakamura would recruit the services of Alexander Hammerstone, as he would battle with Omega and Ospreay in tag team action. The match would be a tough contest, but it would be Alpha & Omega who would claim the win - as the pair would remind the fans why the two members of The Elite had come so close to winning the tag team belts at Double or Nothing. Following the contest, Omega would grab the microphone and make it clear that he was coming for Nakamura and intended on reclaiming ‘HIS’ world championship at Fyter Fest. In the run up, Nakamura would claim singles victories over Batista and Gabriel Kidd sending a clear message that he was more than capable of claiming wins over members of The Elite without any backup. After beating Kidd - Nakamura would make it clear that he intended to bring an end to this nonsense between him and Omega and would announce that their match at Fyter Fest would be a Lights Out Match.

During Fyter Fest, Omega’s tag team partner and leader of The Elite Will Ospreay would also compete and claim a decisive victory over WALTER in singles action. After the contest, Ospreay would make it clear that losing at Double or Nothing and failing to become the World Tag Team Champions had been an important moment for him, because it had given him clarity of his situation. The situation that the Young Bucks had turned their back on The Elite and by proxy had created a longstanding problem between The Elite & Bullet Club and it was a situation that was going to have to be dealt with sooner rather than later.

The match for the AEW World Championship would be a brutal contest, with Nakamura showing a violent and unforgiving side that hadn’t been seen before since he had joined AEW - with the match ending with Shinsuke nailing Omega with a Kinshasa whilst Kenny’s head was wrapped in a steel chair that was wedged in the ring corner, that would leave Omega knocked out cold.

On the fallout of Blood & Guts, the Dark Order would claim a strong win over Caza Salvaje. After the contest, the Young Bucks would slide into the ring decked in Bullet Club gear and proceed to nail the crap out of Vikingo & Fenix with tandem Super Kicks that would drop them to the canvas. With both members of Caza Salvaje down, Nick Jackson would grab a microphone and make it clear he thought that Rey Fenix was a twerp and a disgrace for working against his own flesh and blood - but that as members of the Bullet Club he and his brother Matt had decided to give an education demonstration on the benefits of working as a family especially in the wrestling business. On Rampage the following week, Nick Jackson would claim a singles win over Vikingo with Rey Fenix claiming a victory over Matt Jackson.

The next week a number one contender’s match would be put together to determine who would be the next team to challenge Iron Blood for their tities, but with The Young Buck and Caza Salvaje distracted by each other - The Briscoes would win the contest and become the next team due for a shot at the world tag team titles. The Young Bucks would make it clear, with a week until Fyter Fest, that they intended to ruin the Caza Salvaje until they were left with no choice, but to pack their bags and leave AEW for good - and the Bucks would claim a win over their opponents Fyter Fest, although the match would be littered with distractions by members of the Bullet Club and the victory would not be earned cleanly.

The two teams would continue to feud leading up to Fight For The Fallen, with both sides being booked to compete in a No Holds Barred Match. The match would be an intense and violent affair, with the Young Bucks claiming the victory in impressive style. After the victory, The Young Bucks would shock everyone by announcing that they had outgrown AEW - and had instead chosen to better their future by signing lucrative contracts with the WWE (officially bringing their AEW career to an end).

PCO and Jonathan Gresham would do battle on Dynamite in what would prove to be a force contest, that would see the French Canadian Frankenstein take his level crazy up to another level as he would seem to snap and become immune to pain that would allow him to claim a win over Gresham by laying out ‘The Octopus’ with a Double Handed Chokebomb to win the contest. After the match, PCO would snap out of his rage state and would cut a promo where he would announce that in the coming weeks he had another monster waiting in the wings and that his new ally would debut in the coming weeks. As the weeks passed, El Samurai Rosada would make his AEW debut (dressed in the same attire as the original El Samurai - but with pink lining to his costume) and he would introduce himself and PCO as ‘The Monsters’.

On the final episode of Rampage before Fyter Fest, The Monsters would make their tag team debuts - but fall short as The Foundation (Ogogo & Gresham) would end up claiming the win after PCO would seem to have a break down mid-match and end up attacking his partner rather than Gresham or Ogogo which would put ‘The Monsters’ at a clear disadvantage. One thing would be clear that there was a particular level of dislike between PCO & Gresham. A rivalry between 5&6 and Caza Salvaje would begin to intersect with that between The Monsters & the Foundation that would result in the four teams being booked in an Openweight Fatal Four-way contest - with the winner of the match at All Out earning a future shot at the title belts.

At Fyter Fest - Simon Gotch, Josh Barnett, Alexander Hammerstone and Josh Alexander would feature in a four man tournament after impressing on AEW Dark with the goal that the winner of the ‘Fyte 4 Glory’ tournament would becoming the inaugural AEW United States of America Championship. In the Semis Josh Barnett would claim a win over Simon Gotch, whilst Hammerstone would be victorious over Josh Alexander. Barnett and Hammerstone would feature in an interesting contest, with Hammer claiming the victory to become the first USA Champion. Hammerstone’s first rival as a champion would be with Jacob Fatu, that would begin after Hammerstone would successfully defend the belt against Fatu. In a follow up, Fatu would make it clear that his desire to fight Hammerstone wasn’t about the gold at all - but rather it was time that Alexander accepted that the only way he was going to be truly happy was if he accepted Contra into his heart. The clear bad blood between both men would result in a rematch with the belt once again on the line being added to the All Out card.

Rush would cut a promo following the loss to the Bullet Club, that the Iron Horns would recover from the loss but that things were going to have to change - suddenly The Butcher, The Blade, Bunny and Penelope Ford would reveal nightstick and shock everyone when they would rush forward and beat the crap out of Rush, nZo & CaZXL and would leave all three men in pools of their own blood before stopping handing out the beating. Penelope Ford would grab a microphone and make it clear that the four of them (the attackers) were no longer part of the Iron Horns and from this point onwards would be known as ‘The Righteous’. Later that week, The Butcher & The Blade would claim a win over Reynolds & Silver - and after the match The Butcher would make it clear that it was clear that he and Blade had never been the weak links in the Iron Horns and that next week they wanted nZo & CaZXL. The Righteous would get their wishes with Butcher & Blade going on to claim a win over their former Iron Horns faction members, but the fighting would continue long after the match had officially ended.

A week later, Bullet Club’s leader Tyler Black would cut a promo where he would openly mock the Irons Horn - but would make the point that the job was only half completed. The separation of The Righteous was only just the beginning, but he and the BC wouldn’t be pleased until Rush and his two stooges had been finished off for good. Later on in the show, nZo would earn some respect back for the Iron Horns as he would claim a singles win over The Butcher. After the contest, Rush would introduce the two newest members of the Iron Horns - female talent of Red Velvet and Taryn Terrel by the name of ‘The Court’ with Rush making it clear that the duo had one goal and that was seek out The Bunny and Penelope Ford and destroy them. This objective wouldn’t be met on Rampage however, as The Bunny would claim a convincing win over Red Velvett on the episode just days before Fyter Fest.

The Bunny & Penelope Ford would be repackaged as the ‘$lut $quad’ and would claim an important win over The Court (Red Velvet & Taryn Terrell). After the contest, Velvet and Taryn would be attended to by Rush, nZo and CaZXL with the two women having taken a hell of a licking. Suddenly, the titantron screen would light up with Cody, Brandi and Tyler Black standing in shot. Cody would suddenly grab hold of his wife and nail her with the Cross Rhodes, before announcing that he was done with his wife and had used her as an example for everyone watching that the Bullet Club only cared about themselves and if anyone got in their way or started weighing them down then they had to be removed like a cancer.

Tyler Black would go on to explain that Rush was a dangerous cancer not only to himself, but to the entire AEW roster and that at Fight For The Fallen he intended on removing Rush out for good and he couldn’t think of a better way to do it than in an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch. The match would prove to be truly destructive with both men’s bodies being brutally battered in the contest that would end with Black escaping the ring and Rush left shaking and burned like a crisp in the middle of the ring with his whole body lacerated with cuts from the barbed wire. Rush would be left in such a state, that he would have to be removed from the ring on a stretcher. Later that evening, The Righteous would claim a victory over the Iron Horns - after the contest it would emerge that nZo & CaZXL had parted ways with AEW after finding out news that Rush would be unable to compete for a number of months meaning that the Iron Horns were now dead in the water.

Following Blood & Guts, Thunder Rosa would reveal on the fallout show of Dynamite that she had decided to join the Angel Squad following the lose in the Hardcore match at the special. Thunder would reveal that Statlander and Gibbs had yet to make up their mind in regards to joining the faction, but she hoped that her two friends would soon join her on this new adventure. Priestley with SLK and Baker in two would interrupt the moment, with Bea making it clear that that she had been impressed with Thunder in recent weeks and that rather than being a sheep and a victim of the slave mind and wanted to reward her by giving her a shot at the title tonight. During the contest however Mercedes Martinez would get involved in the contest, and would grab hold of Rosa unsighted by the referee that would cost her her shot at the title. After the bell though, Mercedes would catch Priestley off guard by wiping her out with a Spinning Backfist knocking Priestley out for the count.

The following week Aviso de Muerte (Martínez & Kellyanne) would claim a tag team victory over Oedo Tai (Priestley & SLK). After the bell, Priestley and Mercedes would continue to brawl and beat the crap out of each other before both women would be pulled apart by their respective stablemates. Priestley though would make it clear that at Fyter Fest she intended kicking the crap out of Mercedes and would continue her reign of dominance in the same stroke. The contest would be a fierce contest between two of the biggest bad asses around, but Priestley would retain the belt once again meaning she had now been in possession of the belt for fourteen months and defended the belt a total of twenty six times and counting.

Shinsuke and Kenny would have a heated moment in the ring, with Nakamura making it clear that he and Kenny were now done and dusted and he had proven himself as the better man once and for all. Nakamura though would smile to himself, and admit that he had invited Omega under false pretenses as he had no desire to shake his hand but rather he was doing a favor for a friend who very much wanted to be introduced to ‘The Cleaner’. Out of nowhere, much to the the entire crowd’s complete shock CM Punk would slide into the ring and spin Kenny around only to lay out Omega with the GTS with the entire crowd on their feet giving one of the loudest pops in years with it being clear that the fans were losing their minds at the fact that CM Punk had returned to wrestling after coming out of a self imposed exile since 2014.

A week later in a battle between former teacher and student, Contra against The Elite - WALTER and Gabriel Kidd would face each other once again, with this time WALTER claiming the victory. After the match, Shinsuke would emerge from the back and announce that he had spoken privately with TK and agreed that he would defend the AEW World Championship against WALTER at Fight for the Fallen. There would be no real tension or actual hatred between either men and the match at Fight For The Fallen would be a technical masterclass with some suggesting this was the best that WALTER had looked since joining AEW - although that would prove to not be enough with Shinsuke claiming the victory and retaining the AEW World Championship.

Over the next few weeks Omega and CM Punk would be involved in a number of heated promos - with Punk making it clear that he wanted his AEW debut to be against a man that everyone would recognize. And that is why he had decided to go to war with Kenny Omega, and would make the point that gaining a debut victory over a former two-time world champion would rocket him up the order and encourage some of his old friends to join the party. Both men would feature in an epic contest, with Punk claiming a victory over Omega but only after nailing ‘The Cleaner’ with not one, not two, but three GTS in a row.

After the contest, the following episode of Dynamite would feature a highlight package of the contest - before featuring post-match interview be given by both CM Punk and Kenny Omega in which the pair would make it clear that they both felt as things were far from over between them, with Punk making it clear that one solitary win over Omega wasn’t going to be enough in in making the impact he was intending to make in AEW.

The following week Punk would team up with Shinsuke Nakamura and Contra Unit members Pentagon, Jr. and Jeff Cobb taking on the newly renamed Kaiju Death Squad (Omega, Ospreay, Storm & Page) with K.D.S. claiming the victory. Over the next weeks Punk and Omega would feature in some length and fierce promo battles before it would be agreed that the two men would face each other in a ‘Table Mania Match’ (a match with all variety of tables of various sizes and materials). It would later be confirmed due to the location of the All Out, the match between CM Punk and Kenny Omega would be the evening’s closing contest.
