I mean, he wasn't uncomfortable to refuse or walk out. And if it was true about him wanting to get out of the business soon after, then what does he have to lose by walking out?

So he should walk out and get sued for breach of contract? He wanted to get out of the business before he was too old to enjoy spending time with his kids... that's why he COULDN'T walk out because he needed the job and the money
