the other problem is picking Punk's side in this is locker room suicide, it would set such a bad precedent and would show Punk is untouchable. obviously hypothetical scenario here but that just sounds horrible for everyone not called FTR

If it is a situation where Punk is fired or suspended and loses the belt, I honestly am both looking forward (but mostly dreading) what will happen. If they will go all "Austin took his ball" on him. I would rather just say "There was a backstage altercation after All Out involving various performers including the winner of the All Out main event, CM Punk. After the fallout, we have no choice but to do [blank]. This will happen next, thank you" and just leave it there

Even if we KNOW MJF will use it as ammunition.

I don't really think there's ever a point unless you become a monopoly like WWE was bc people still want some kinda confrontation so that they can pick their sides lol it just devalues both shows usually tho, even when done extremely well.
