The funny thing is his roster is so stacked realistically he can lose both Elite and Punk and be just fine.

Fans of those particular acts might stop watching, but it won’t be all of them. And Tony would just move prices around. As it is he’s got too much talent. It’ll probably give people much needed elevation on television.

I agree. The thing is AEW can't give in to people's egos or to factions. It just sets a bad example to the rest of the locker room. Its like Bischoff said about when he fired Honky Tonk that even if it was Hogan he still would have done it because it would have made him look bad to the rest of the locker room. It would be a blow to lose those names for sure. But IMO Punk hasn't made as much of a difference to AEW as they were hoping based on the time and investment placed in him. There will come a point where Punk becomes more trouble than he's worth.

I don't really think there's ever a point unless you become a monopoly like WWE was bc people still want some kinda confrontation so that they can pick their sides lol it just devalues both shows usually tho, even when done extremely well.

I’ll be honest the first one was great in the first few months. Than they tinkered with it only like 4 months in and I didn’t care as much for the roster changes and the title changes, but it still mostly ran like a legit split.

Once 2004 came around and they did annual drafts, I think you killed the concept. You should only move one two people a year in my opinion to keep the dies if brands as a legit concept. But even then 2005-2007 still had some uniqueness to each show, by 2009 that was gone.

Like you said, just devalued both shows for no reason. If nothing is different but the talent working, just end the split and do what Tony does. Use talent only once per show, but rotate which shows they work per week.

The biggest issue was the cuts too so the rosters got thin. Not large enough to justify two of them separately.

Can still work. Moxley beat MJF in his first title match years ago, he was the guy who couldn't "Get rid of Punk" when he had a chance so Punk had to do it himself. Then MJF to play up is previous storyline will win the title and vow to hold it until his contract is over where he will use it as leverage to get the mark, Tony, to pay him what he deserves, or get what he deserves elsewhere WITH AEW's top prize.
