When asked about CM Punk, Tony Khan says he wishes everyone the best.
Punk has been absent from AEW following the conclusion of AEW All Out, where he defeated Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship. After the show, Punk reportedly got into a fight with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks backstage. Everyone involved was subsequently suspended, and Punk hasn't been directly mentioned on AEW programming ever since.
Speaking with Alex McCarthy of Inside The Ropes, Khan was asked whether he hopes he could mend fences with Punk.
"The whole thing, I was mostly trying not to comment on that whole situation. But I’m wishing everybody the best and hoping for the best for everyone and hoping for the best for AEW and the fans," Khan said.
During the AEW Full Gear media call, when asked about the former world champion, Khan made it clear that he had nothing but positive things to say about Punk and his contributions to AEW.
"I can’t comment on that. I have nothing but positive things to say about the contributions CM Punk has made in AEW on screen and I certainly have a lot of positive things to say about the things he did in AEW to date, but I do understand why you’d ask and I appreciate you asking," Khan said.

Hmmm

Kenny Omega wants fans to know that the situation in AEW isn't "Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks against CM Punk."

Ahead of AEW Dynamite from Punk's hometown of Chicago, Omega spoke with SI.com and noted that he is unable to address speculation stemming from the backstage altercation at All Out 2022. He also encouraged fans to "move away from it because there is no information to be released."

“There are things no one can talk about, so I’d encourage people to let it go,” says Omega. “It doesn’t change that we want a team effort in AEW. I don’t even mean implicitly myself and my opponent. It also means the referee, the fans, the people who set up the ring, everyone–even a technical error can ruin the memory of a match. I can refer back to the exploding barbed wire death match. So I encourage people to move away from it because there is no information to be released. Though I cannot talk about it, I do want the fans to know I still want the best for pro wrestling.”

“This isn’t Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks against CM Punk," Omega continued. "It is people trying to show off their craft. You can boo Kenny Omega, or the Young Bucks, or CM Punk, but I hope people don’t forget we’re human beings struggling to show our art.”

Omega also spoke about returning to NJPW to face Will Ospreay at Wrestle Kingdom 17.

“I’m returning to New Japan as an ambassador of AEW,” says Omega. “I’m returning to New Japan as an ambassador of pro wrestling. I’m also returning home. I left to start this new, exciting opportunity, but it’s still home. Now the things Will can do are things I cannot. He’s an athletic phenom. But as finely tuned as he is physically, he still hasn’t doesn’t have the knowledge or experience. I pushed my own physical boundaries in All Japan and DDT, but that’s not what I’m known for. My mind is my greatest asset, not my athleticism. That’s what’s allowed [Hiroshi] Tanahashi to have such a long and flavorful career.

“I needed someone to take my place in New Japan, I wanted someone to take my place–and it was Will, Jay [White], and [Kota] Ibushi. Will is the only one to have a problem with that.”

Speaking to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Omega was asked about the incident.

“There are things no one can talk about, so I’d encourage people to let it go,” said Omega.

Omega continued, offering a different perspective on things following the passing of Jason David Frank, who was best known as the Green/White Ranger in Power Rangers.

"The day after the pay-per-view, I was absolutely devastated by the loss of Jason David Frank,” he said. “He’s one of my childhood heroes. That evening, there was a mass shooting at an LGBTQ club where five people died. It’s absolutely terrible. After such tragedy, it puts everything in perspective. This isn’t Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks against CM Punk. It is people trying to show off their craft. You can boo Kenny Omega, or the Young Bucks, or CM Punk, but I hope people don’t forget we’re human beings struggling to show our art.”

So basically Kenny confirmed there is NDA and legal issues involved. Also now both Punk and the Bucks have done stuff public about it (making jokes and highlighting fan chants) I agree with Kenny. Time to move on tbh until we either get actual news and if Punk stays or says sorry for his part.

Tony saying he has nothing but positive things to say about Punk’s contributions to AEW and what he’s done in AEW to date. That to date, though, especially. :banderas:

Kenny Omega also continues to be a real class act.

He’s a real man.
