Idk I feel like I'd have to agree Hangman's booking wasn't good to agree with that for one lol the only thing I'll agree is Punk was way hotter during 90% of Hangman's reign but he also feuded with MJF for almost the entirety of it which was an all time feud so it was gonna overshadow everything

yeah I have to be clear about my own opinion. his match booking was fine, danielson feud was ok, cole feud started off hot. but some stuff just didnt click and it felt like Punk (iirc) was getting booked higher on the card?

I didn't think his booking sucked, but it was missing the "this is most important thing on the show" factor, which wasnt a big deal to me, personally, but I think that was still a "valid" criticism from people? perhaps im remembering wrong

then again, according to Meltzer, some of the PPVs hangman headlined did better numbers than the ones Punk headlined, so maybe the booking thing is just a pov some ppl had that didnt affect viewership

Or did Meltzer mean going back to WWE? Idk if comparing numbers from back then really works but I'd still be interested in them

its prob an aew one but hes also probably technically correct but omitting context. not that its THAT much of a point anyways, AEW ppvs are never structured to be based around one super match so while the top of the card is often the biggest selling point, its far from the only one as they built a pretty good following on simply "kickass shows from top to bottom"
