How about we just have Sting not take buckle bombs. Didn't he take one at Forbidden Door from Jericho or something and it looked like he was half knocked out? I get most of these things, definitely with the fan stuff as someone has said it could have been passed down from WBD. I will say the best way for them to protect the fans ringside is get rid of the "fence", just like WWE did. They're a big enough company, with enough money where I can't see that being something they can't do.
