Honestly Rice has always been a great teammate. And considering how common domestic violence is in sports (in general, but especially in sports) I am sure at least a few teammates (of any hypothetical team he signs with ) have whooped up on their gf as well. I don't think the resentment would come from within the locker room, especially if he came in and played well.

The reason he won't get signed is the PR shitstorm. but if you take the media out of the equation I would take a guy like Rice in my lockerroom over a guy like Blount, who teammates hated and was being a dumbass on the field.

I definitely agree that problem player vs problem player, Rice is easily the better player to pick up. He's legitimately remorseful for what happened, so worst case scenario there's no LR harm, maybe they could even get a Michael Vick-esque good story out of this.

Maybe If you're the Patriots or another highly respected organization, you barely have to worry about the media since they're gonna give Belichick or Elway or whoever the benefit of the doubt. Otherwise you can weather the storm.

The problem is that you're getting a running back who looked 35 last year who's not missed in Baltimore at all. At least Blount can make great plays when he wants to. If you want to, I guess you can try him out and see how big of a role his injuries played, but there's a much better chance that he's hit the wall.

And the Patriots and Packers, who also have holes but just seem so far ahead of everyone else (except Denver of course) right now.

But you look at the top teams this year... Arizona, who's had a struggling pass rush, running back averaging the lowest YPC among qualified RB's, no top-10 QB... Yeah their secondary is good, maybe their receivers, but that doesn't really justify 9-1

And don't even get me started on Cincy lol

If we beat the Pats, ohhhh baby. As a Brewers fan, I feel the sorrow of people here cheering for teams destined for the bottom of the barrel. As a Packers fan? Come on.

It's crazy how many people give credit to Odell Beckham's catch without giving @Danielson 's boy Eli credit for such a terrible throw.

Can totally see him playing the Sproles role in New Orleans.

Pierre Thomas does that, and is great at it. I don't see a role for him in the NO backfield, honestly. I'd much rather he go to Indy.

New Orleans has Ingram as the early down workhorse, who has been great. You have Thomas as the receiver. You have Cadet as the backup pass catching back and Robinson as the backup to Ingram.

All I hear about whenever I watch a Saints broadcast is "What's wrong with the Saints' offense? It's Sproles! They're missing Darren Sproles!"

Obviously only a contender can really kick the tires on Rice. If he pans out, they may have found their replacement. if he doesn't, cool, we still have Pierre Thomas

The Saints offense has had like 3 bad games this year lol. Defense is the problem. Thomas is just as good at catching as Rice and actually knows the playbook. and you know, isn't Ray Rice. Rice provides no benefits to the Saints that I can see. He would be their most versatile back, but versatility isn't something they covet because they use a handful of specialists.

The Colts and Saints are expected NOT to pursue Ray Rice for the remainder of the season.. Two mystery teams out there are said to still be interested though.. Imma go with Miami and Buffalo.. however I wouldn't rule out some Belitricks action.

I'm just going off the premise that Jon Gruden knows stuff instead of the obvious, which is this. My bad. :dawg:

Enjoy the games, guys! :yay:

Just listening to the CBS Sports Radio pregame show where they did a lead-in with soundbytes for the injury alerts, and in the drop they announced "Tony Romo out with a back injury" and then "Rishard Matthews for the Dolpins"...

nothing says ratings like Rishard Matthews
