Put plainly, I prefer the Ray Allen's and Carmelo Anthonys simply because shooting takes less energy and is less likely to result in landing wrong from a high aerial position.
Besides that, the three point shot obviously has more value then a two point shot (a dunk). Three point shooters are almost always great free throw shooters as well. In the closing seconds, you want those cats out there.
You did acknowledge three point shooters positively, if I'm not mistaken. It isn't 'just as advantageous' as dunking, however.
