Only recently has the ECW title become a mid-card affair. Was it so when Angle was chasing it? Or Big Show? Or Benoit was about to pick it up? Perhaps Christian can finally bring some interest back to ECW. It's supposed to be the home of exciting, hungry young superstars. Alright, let's see it now.

I know did people complain and say it was a mid card title just as important as the IC or US title when...

RVD, Benoit (about to), Punk, Show, Lashly, Kurt, Vince or anyone else for that matter held that title? Nope, I am pretty sure that it all started when Kane held it and then it went down hill...or maybe Chavo not sure but why? It's not like the WWE title hasn't had some bad holders, does that make it a midcard title? no.

It started with Chavo.
CM Punk is a midcarder.... is the WHC now a midcard title?
Jeff Hardy is pretty much an upper mid carder no matter how you cut it....WWE title is mid card now too?

^^^ Winning a title (consider it a midcard belt if you insist) at the 25th anniversary of WM WOULD be bigger than his match at WM20 (in front of 20,000-ish people).

It's not about the size of the crowd..It was WM20 at the garden, and the moment Trish and Christian kissed at the end was a shocking moment, and Christian gained heat after that..
Winning a bad title against a noob at wrestlemania isn't impressive. I don't think we'll remember that for years

Yes..yes you will. Because it's fuckin shocking. I think the shock appeal of this whole thing is more than enough to get Christian over. As said... there is no reason why Christian holding this title can't give it some more cred. If his reaction was any indication of how over he is he is in no way ready for the main event on RAW or Smackdown. Sure he would have gotten some nice heat from being revealed as the attacker but that lack of excitement would still be there.

I notice you chose to only respond to HALF of my statement (neglecting to acknowledge the part where I quantify what a win at this years WM would mean!), but regardless....

C'm-o-o-o-n, you make it sound like TRISH turning on Jericho was a particularly big deal.... It certainly isn't my lasting memory of Christian's time in WWE; WM or otherwise... Particularly as he was a mere 3rd party in the scenario... Trish turned heel. Christian was one already.

I'm not saying that that C winning the ECW title at WM would be an all-time classic moment, but a title victory (I refuse to concur down to you OPINION that it is a worthless title!) at WM in front of 60,000+ fans would be one hell of a big deal for YOU if YOU were a wrestler, would it not? ...Certainly more notable than a valet turning heel on her man in a situation where mere months later we saw Jericho turn heel again.

It will be a good moment only if the fans care about the match..I agree Christian would give credibility to the title, but winning the title won't get C more over..A money in the bank spot would have been better than this.
Obviously, It would be a big deal for me..but for a wrestler who complained about not being a main eventer, who was considered to be involved in a top storyline, yes I'd be really desapointed to wrestle Swagger for this title

I would have loved to see his music hit at MITB....him walk out with his little hoodie and shit. If he'd win...just kinda have him wander around as a free agent for a few months deciding which champ to face.

I like Christian on ECW it freshen things up since matts gone. you can have him an swagger feud till mania and have a match at backlash then maybe go back to the dreamer storyline with swagger and move him (Christian) to SD or RAW and have him liven up the midcard US title scene there . Besides it gives me a reason to watch ECW now

^Yeah, it's pretty shitty quality at this point though.
Honestly, I preferred the old version by "Waterproof Blonde". It had a little more of an epic feel to it...bit slower and all.
Hopefully they revamp his entrance a bit....it was pretty lackluster.

Yeah, and he definitely needs to go back to wearing the hood for his entrance.
