It's not just the fans it's society's way of thinking. If a term is used as something for a while how would bringing it back and then expecting to force a change on society work. For example the word sick is used to describe something cool sometimes. You saying just because I go oh that's sick my 70 year old grandma is supposed to know that its a good thing. I think not. I can go on with this all day man.

You're only proving my point; the same applies to society. Most of society is stupid, and they assume the obvious. It is the intelligent people that look for the hidden, more creative meanings behind things.

For instance, stupid people thought that Cena writing "JBL is poopy" on Bradshaw's limo was an example of Cena being a childish character. When in reality (or at least how more creative people perceive reality to be) Cena was merely working those who already dislike him, metaphorically saying "fuck you" to those who boo him in an attempt to be COOL~ and go against the traditional face/heel lines.

Sly that is exactly what I'm saying it's no where near the same situation.
So, in order for you to be "outraged", it has to be a main-eventer who hasn't undergone a gimmick change, has used the move for years AND isn't a remote reference to an old gimmick, is that right?

Do you realize how silly that sounds? Just out of curiosity. Do you not understand how the FU name is pretty much irrelevant at this point?

You are getting what I say completly wrong. Its not as though your "assuming" something when you have been tought to see a word such. It's merely using what you have been tought throughout your life time as my example before my grandma would not assume sick mean's bad it's the fact she has been taught such.

I get what you mean. My stance is unchanged. I still advocate that you need to sit back, relax, watch what is being shown, and formulate your own view on what is happening in a way that will not hinder your enjoyment of such programming. If somebody tells you what a painting means and you hate it, do not simply hate the painting. Rather, formulate what YOU think the painting means, and love it for such. Wrestling is an art, and should be treated as such. Just like any painting, novel, dance, or drama, it is up to interpretation. I am urging you to create for yourself an interpretation that pleases you, rather than accept one that is given to you that you may not like.

I also now get what you are saying and at the same time and starting to see why people like you. You maybe very opinionated by the way you just put that I have no choice but to agree as it was put out perfectly. I still am however mad not at the name the move is being given but the fact that it is being changed in the first place.

...and we're getting this worked up over the name of a wrestling move?

Am I the only one who simply cannot fathom the profound effect this is going to have across not only the WWE, but the entire wrestling landscape? I mean, the name FU was the only reason I kept watching the WWE, and now, the entire show has been tarnished because the name of a move has been changed! I was close to suicide when the Lion Tamer was re-named the Walls of Jericho, luckily I battled through that period in my life. But now, I don't know if I can go on. The three seconds in which Michael Cole will be saying 'Throwback' instead of 'FU' once or twice a week is going to be unbearable, I'm surprised if the WWE will have any fans left.

I can't believe this shocking news. How much will WWE tone down the product for kids?

They should just give Cena a new finisher. Maybe one where he sits down with his opponent and explains that violence never solved anything, in a kid friendly manner of course.

If things continue going this way then I think that's exactly what's coming next. :disgust:
