WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will be returning to WWE TV as the host of the upcoming season of "Tough Enough," reports Entertainment Weekly.

Austin will be a vital part of the revitalized series that WWE and USA Network are premiering on Monday, April 4, the night after WrestleMania 27.

The new season will be filmed in Los Angeles, which allows for Austin to host the show since he lives in the area for his acting career.

The 12 contestants competing in the series will live and train together at a house in Los Angeles. Each week's show will contain an elimination.

After the Apr. 4 premiere at 11:00 p.m. EST following Raw, "Tough Enough" will slide into a regular timeslot of 8:00 p.m. EST on Monday nights prior to each week's Raw. USA has committed to ten episodes of the new season.

Will post my thoughts when i wake in the morning. Very exciting news.

Good news; it definitely adds star power to the return of Tough Enough.

Let's just hope the show isn't a complete let down now. :p

This show just became even more amazing. I was a huge fan of the original Tough Enough, not the last season, and Austin returning to host makes this so much better. It should bring in great ratings for WWE since the former fans will want to see Austin every week.

Hopefully in the coming weeks they announce the trainers as well.

This is MASSIVE for WWE because it means guaranteed ratings for the launch of Tough Enough. Take the old TE fans, the current NXT/WWE fans and ADD the nostalgia factor of seeing Austin every week again will be awesome.

It's a good role because we'll see his straight talking charisma, some old school rattlesnake hopefully, but also the way he carries himself outside of the gimmick and he'll maybe demonstrate some of his own experiences and knowledge.

It was already going to be a 'probably' see in my books, now it's a 'must-see'. I hope I can catch it properly somehow in the UK.

Tough Enough 3:16.

Well, now this is some very good news. You needed a hook and now you got it. Steve Austin was always known as a guy to go to for advice. And now he will be able to show everyone how good of a coach/teacher he can be.

Right this is a very good choice of a host. I see Austin being the guy who runs everything down then like runs all the challenges and helps be a kinda mentor but not full trainer.

Please for the love of all things good and decent, NO FUCKING CHALLENGES!!!!

I want this show to be like The Ultimate Fighter and focus more on the training aspect of wrestling and show the hardships and goodships of becoming a pro wrestler. I don't know why they would want to kayfabe this. TUF brought MMA into the mainstream, whats to say WWE couldn't do the same?

Agree with Deezy a Ultimate Fighter type show would be entertaining and could be a good draw. Austin makes this watchable for anyone who was on the border. If it a glorified NXT and their are challenges Austin won't even save it.

Well the chellenges were never about Keyfabe, they were mostly for comedy value, but the point is they had nothing to do with wrestling and that was the problem. Weather they make this new series of TE a keyfabe type deal or not it must be about wrestling.

As many of you will know I am not a fan of WWE bring back Tough Enough, I just think it had its day and was quite sucessful, but they need to move on, also with NXT they have two shows very simlier.
But like everyone else I think adding Austin as the host is a great idea, he will be the perfect fit, so the ratings at least for the first few shows should be strong. So I won't be watching, but I think it will be a damn smart move!
